Former WH Press Secretary Gibbs Expresses ‘Regret’ Over Michelle Obama Tirade

Robert Gibbs Apologizes for Insulting Michelle Obama at White House MeetingFormer White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs expressed “regret” Monday for insulting First Lady Michelle Obama during a contentious White House staff meeting where he also scorned Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett. The incident came to light in a new book, “The Obamas,” by New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor. Jarrett, however, claims the two have “worked through disagreements.”

According to Kantor, the exchange occurred on Sept. 16, 2010, right after after Gibbs had allegedly diffused a potentially explosive report that claimed Mrs. Obama told French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy that she “can’t stand“ life in the White House and that it was ”hell.”

Jarrett alleged Mrs. Obama was “dissatisfied” with Gibbs’ handling of the incident and that the former press secretary launched into Jarrett for interfering in the matter.

According to the book, Gibbs used a series of expletives, including the “F” word, which was allegedly directed at the First Lady.

Since the embarrassing set of events surfaced, Gibbs issued the following statement on Monday:

“In any high-pressure work environment there are occasional arguments and disagreements and that is certainly true of the White House. I regret speaking in anger and regret that this disagreement became so public. But those moments pale in comparison to the important issues facing our country and will not overshadow the vital work Valerie and I will do together as part of a team in 2012.”

Jarrett, in a subsequent statement, wrote:

“Since 2004, Robert Gibbs and I have worked together on campaigns and in the government, and he has been a valued advisor and Press Secretary to this President and a key member of the Obama team. Like any colleagues, we‘ve shared some laughs and we’ve shared some words over the years. But we have always worked through any disagreements out of mutual respect and in our shared commitment now and in the future to President Obama.”

Irrespective of the mini-controversy generated by the book, the White House has dismissed “The Obamas” as over-sensationalized.

“Books like these generally over-sensationalize things,” current White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters on Monday.

“These are high-pressure jobs. There’s always a lot at stake. And the commitment the people show to the president, to the first lady, and to the causes that brought them here is fierce. And sometimes that intensity leads people to raise their voices or have sharp exchanges.”

“But the overall picture is one of remarkable collegiality and a genuine focus.”

He maintained that the White House is “a remarkably harmonious place,“ despite ”everything that’s at stake and the enormity of the issues that are discussed and debated here every day.”

      Jarrett has been running things since Barack Hussein Obama walked through the front door. She knows all the inside scoop about Obama’s connection to the Donald Young murder, all about his tight relationship with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, she knows that he is Bi-sexual via the Jeremiah Wright “down low” crowd, she knows he was a crack head prior to his becoming a U. S. Senator. Remember, Jarrett was the soul person responsible for bringing Van Jones into Obama’s inner circle, this guy is a raving maniac in a three piece suit. He looks clean on the outside but is as evil as they come on the inside. You can make that same assertion about Jarrett. When Obama is forced out of the White House I hope he is holding hands with Valerie Jarrett. Obama is the most compromised President this country has ever had. He is a criminal (forged birth record, fraudulent SS# flagged by E-Verify, fraudulent Selective Service registration) and a usurper (he is not a “natural born Citizen). As these various crimes reach the ears of the American citizens they will rise up an demand he resign. His poll numbers will tank beyond electablity and Democrats will be scrambling for a last minute candidate. You may not find his name on a couple of state ballots, that should be a wake up call for the Lame Stream Media to look into the reasons for that.

    1. Michelle O. does not belong in the White House.

    We must all be VERY CLEAR on this. Vote for who you most agree with in the primary. In Nov., whoever won the primary must get all of our votes, even if we don’t like the choice. NOBAMA!
    1. REMOVE BHO from office
    2. Organize for getting new politicians that will abide fully with the constitution in 2014
    3. While working towards 2014, contact our Representative and let them know what we expect and that we are watching.
    4. If they still won’t listen, we show up at the steps.

      we’ll be finding things this administration (and the First Lady) has done, for years to come.. gone or not the damage done to Liberty will likely never all be repaired, certainly NOT in y lifetime..

      We are FAR from understanding just what they have done, but these folks, in particular Ms. Jarret have been planning all of this.. for years.. AND STILL no one is even talking about what Cass Sustein is doing and we certainly WON‘T know ANYTHING about his activities until he’s gone..       Tron – if it were only so. If he allows the election to occur he still has 2 months to enact al kind of regulations that will take years to untangle. The more likely scenerio is the declaration of martial law and Obumblers appointment of himself as King Barak the first or at least supreme ruler and president for life.
