A military appeals court placed the trial for accused Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan on hold indefinitely Friday amid continuing issues surrounding Hasan’s refusal to shave his beard, CNN reported.
The court martial was first halted Wednesday so the appeals court could consider the Army psychiatrist’s objections to being forcibly shaved. He has been fined and held in contempt repeatedly for remaining bearded, which is a violation of Army regulations, but says the facial hair is an expression of his faith. Hasan, 41, is an American-born Muslim.
Hasan’s court martial had been scheduled to start Monday for the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, for which he faces 13 charges of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted meditated murder.
Hasan first grew the beard in June, prompting a pre-trial hearing to be postponed. The judge in the case, Col. Gregory Gross, threatened in July to have Hasan forcibly shaved if he did not comply with orders to remove the beard on his own.
According to CNN, it was unclear how long the case would be on hold.

Anytime any of these despicable public officials “delay” or prolong the process of justice, make note of it, exploit them, and vote their butts out. Enough of this BS. And on another note, No need to go into a private room and spend millions of dollars to fry or inject this POS for his crime. Buy a box of 25 rounds that’s about 25 bucks, use one round, or half a dozen, and shoot the maniac already, preferably in public, where all the other maniacs can witness the outcome of any of their future evil endeavors. The fact that this guy is still alive should infuriate everyone. Our Government, society, and courts are corrupts and a bunch of effeminate busybodies that have abused and taken advantage of their offices to stand idle and gain profit. You guys should have an idea of what to do come elections this November. Sweep the place clean of these incompetent bureaucrats.

Since he chooses to be Out of Uniform he can just come to the trial in his Prison PJ’s and not have the honor of wearing his Uniform. Or if the uniform is required by the UCMJ, then he doesn’t get the privileged of being at his own murder trial. It is his choice he can either get into uniform or it can be seen as a refusal to show for his own trial and the proceedings can go on without him.
I also wonder if the Psychiatrist who is recommending not shaving him was one of his “buddies” perhaps someone should look into that persons affairs as well, since the idiot seems to have more sympathy for the beard than the victims or the families of the victims.

Report Post »Prior to 1985 it was not illegal to court martial military members (US Navy anyway) with beards. Not positive but pretty sure that there isn’t any law against firing squads carrying out a death sentence order against the bearded.

I was being sarcastic about the judges and attorneys. Of course we don’t do such things. There’s no law to sanction such a thing. LOL. But any judge or attorney who intentionally assists a mass murderer to escape judgement through bribery, some special interest, or whatever else is a POS and deserves the same fate.
I never said we should shoot people in the head without due process of law or whatnot. I said we should hold EVERYONE accountable, and let them face the consequence of their actions. A superior officer, or in this case a judge, gives him an order to shave or do whatever it takes to get in compliance, then he can stand trial. Refusal would be a (minor) charge added to the list of charges, but would result in being allowed to forcibly shave him so he can stand trial.

I am a retired, disabled veteran and no military service allows bearded soldiers, for numerous reasons. It’s a violation of the Uniform Code to allow this murderer in court with that shaggy, unkempt and ugly face. It may sound petty, but he murdered those without the beard, and last time I checked, Hassan signed up for the service knowing the uniform codes.

I had all the rights due to me in the military, but when I was part of the military I couldn’t have long hair or a beard/mustache (Army). Since I *chose* to be in the military, that was part of my enlistment contract. He has the same contract (for officers) and is still in the Army. There is no rights violation in charging him with disorderly conduct and other measures to bring him into compliance.

It takes over every discussion and every debate if you lsten or read closely. Doesn’t really matter what the discussion started as. If you take a real hard look into the ideology of the Rothbardian Ron Paul “Liberty Movement/R3volution“ you will see that it mostly boils down to ”isolationism.”
If you paid attention to Ron Paul during the debates, he would always drift off into the atmosphere screetching about the warrrr-mongerrrrring we hateful Americans engage in across the globe, the “blowback” we “deserved” as a nation, and his almost treasonous pandering to our enemies… Radical Islam/Al-Qaeda.
Paul’s hatred for America, Israel our other allies and YOU (just like Obama) is quite apparent. End the Fed my @ss… what a scam… a sham… it’s ll about isolationism in the long run, and THAT is what is really behind this so-called movement. The Ron Paul is a slick bass-turd and would use the Constitution as a vehicle for his diseased Liberal-tarian isolationist ideology and in turn our enemies would have a field day across the globe while he’s hiding gold nuggets up his rectum.

The Taliban refused to hand over Usama after 911. We had a right to extradite him for trail He claimed credit for 911. Al Qaeda had no right to attack us for troops we had Saudi Arabia. The troops were there with the permission of the Saudi government. The troops were there to prevent another invasion of Kuwait. We had a right to be part of a coalition to kick Iraq out of a sovereign country & U.N. member state. But individualism cannot handle that. He is a chickenhawk soldier who is the military only for the benefits.

They don‘t give a **** about how justified the wars we’re in are because a Republican president is the one who declared the wars. Also, I do not believe it is fair to call our troops (the men and women who are willing to lay down their lives because they love their country) because they fight for the idea of a free America, they do not kill for the sake of killing (obviously there are exceptions but you are generalizing which is not fair). I agree that we should be defending the home-front, not the foreign interest front. I support the troops, not the wars. I support liberty, not forced ideas. I support individual authority, not corrupt/bloated government authority. You and I are demonized on this site because we believe in liberty for ALL, not just the Christians (and yes, I am a Christian, but I recognize that the Muslim is my equal even if he views me as infidel or not).
