‘Forward for Communism!’: Is Obama‘s New ’Forward’ Slogan Really a Coincidence?

By now, most have heard of the Obama campaign’s new slogan, “Forward,” and the dubious scrubbing of all references to the Marxist origins of the motto on its Wikipedia entry. During his Thursday evening broadcast, Glenn Beck reviewed the roots of President Obama’s leftwing ideology and those who have served as his inspiration — from far-left radical Frank Marshall Davis to Bill Ayers and his father, Tom. Beck’s clip is featured below. And the information that follows on the president’s new slogan is, we daresay, outrageous.

Watch below as Beck discusses Obama’s mentors as they move “forward” in achieving their goals. He notes how little is truly known about the president and how little vetting was done by the mainstream media when he first came on the scene.
But what then is so significant about the slogan, “Forward” and why would the left, in one instance, purposely choose a word that is code-speak among Marxists and then go out of its way to hide all reference to that fact later? That question remains unanswered, but circulating the Internet are a myriad Soviet and Maoist propaganda posters that provide hard-hitting insight into just how meaningful the “forward” saying truly is. Take a walk down Communist lane as Stalin, Lenin and Mao blast “forward” for victory. The pertinent text has been translated to English and is featured in the captions below each image.

As previously noted by The Blaze, the Russian word for “forward” transliterates to “vpered” — which also, not coincidentally, served as the name of Joseph Stalin’s newspaper, “Forward for Stalin.”

Between Stalin and Mao at least 70 million or more were killed. Is this the kind of “forward” thinking and moving the president truly seeks to resurrect in his slogan?
With historical proof as obvious as this available for anyone in the world to see via a rudimentary Google search, it is difficult to believe President Obama and his campaign did not know the origins and, moreover, the significance of the word “forward” when choosing their new slogan. In fact, all indications seem to point to it being a rather brazen and deliberate move.
There is a saying ironically coined by Maya Angelou: “The first time someone shows you who they are, believe them.”

The herd will go wherever they’re lead I guess. If any of you read either Russian or Chinese, you’d realize the word “forward” is in none of those posters. But, given most of you can barely speak the English language, you‘d wouldn’t know what those posters say would you? But, of course, Ignorance is Strength, that’s the new Republican motto.

It was very early in the morning and it was on a German Holiday. There were hundreds of troops some many in loud m113 troop carriers, humvees making lots of noise. The noise woke up and brought hundreds of Berliners out to watch us . It wasn’t long until several police showed up; apparently some confusion took place and the berlin authorities were not informed of our alert/training (we also were not informed that it was training) Our Company Commander apologized to the Berlin police commander for the disturbance. The Berlin police commander then said ‘ thankyou, we love the sound of American tanks, because the alternative would be the sound of Russian tanks”

I really really wanted to read your post today without finding you wrong again, but no such luck.
In stark contrast to what you state, the Russian word for “forward” (вперед) is abundant in the posters. I don’t speak Chinese, but Russian I definitely know well enough to spot your error.
And your comment could have been done properly. Sure, there are lots of examples where the word ‘forward’ is used in slogans where it carries no nefarious undertones. And had you ended simply stating those examples, your argument would have been reasonable and irrefutable. But you dig in by claiming that others are delusional in their suspicions (”secret decoder rings,“ ”tea leaves,“ and ”dragons in clouds”). Are they as delusional as those on the left who dismissed and continue to dismiss the Occupy movement as non-violent? Are they as delusional as those on he left who tried to turn the hoodie into neo-Civil Rights fashion attire? Are they as delusional as those on the left who were aghast at the possibility that Obamacare might, just might, be unconstitutional?
I agree that the slogan ‘Forward’ is innocuous. My biggest objection to it is how dare Obama and the Democratic party try another warm and fuzzy nonsense slogan like last time‘s ’Hope.’ Are there really delusional people out there who re willing to swallow that malarkey again? But don’t act indignant when a president who has shown obvious socialist traits gets nailed for it.

Of course it is perceived as stupid by those who lack context. “Forward” is historically a Marxist and Communists slogan, fact. So, when a Marxist uses it that is in context. If others use it, on occasion that means nothing.
When a Marxist uses “forward” as a slogan it is significant and intentional.
“Modern liberals” maintain denial and fail to recognize the truth as they use moral relativism and contextual indiscretion which is needed to use reason and logic.

But I disagree with the other part of your post. People are, if not delusional (your word not mine), certainly willing to accept any stupid thing put in front of them, such as “forward” being a communist word. Somebody above quoted Reagan using the word. It’s just silly and, yes, delusional.

Industrial Revolution was a societal change resulting from the introduction of machinery and large scale production. Industrialize is to organize as an industry. Industry and the owners and the managers of industry. To go FORWARD what is needed are deligent, hardworking people that believe in this “cause”.
Death-spiral for the youth in this country and future generations. Never mind what has been going on to destroy America in the last 3.5 yrs but this twisted concept that many people will buy because most of them ARE NOT INDUSTRIOUS will march to the beat of this admin. drum. I suppose there are some here who think they should have fallen back instead and let the Germans dominate half of Eurasia, but that’s another argument. Anyhow it’s “forward for the Motherland,” with nary a mention of Communism.
#8 from the top appears to be a commemoration of the bravery of the Tsar’s army in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-8–hardly a piece of Marxist propaganda!

The word itself has nothing do with Communism. BUT, one must look at everything else to see its context. I could use the word feather and it could be associated with all kinds of birds or no bird at all (say I had a feather in my hat.) However, if I am speaking about a bird that looks like duck and quacks like a duck and then reference feathers, more than likely I am referring to the duck’s feathers as opposed to a turkey.
But lets not look at all the other things this president has done to realize the significance of “Forward.” By suggesting the word forward in this instance has nothing to do with communism or marxism you are being intellectually dishonest. I know that Obama supporters have a hard time with context.

Many of us here have known for decades, at least as far as I am concerned, that the socialists/communists used the word as their slogan and have named their fliers, leaflets, papers, and magazines FORWARD, or THE FORWARD all along. In any other use yes, the word in innocuous. But it does look suspicious as a single word campaign slogan? Yeah, it fits, and I can only laugh at it. It‘s just the campaign showing it’s hand again. Am I angry about this? No, of course not. I think that he is just being honest about who he is, and for the most part many of the dem politicians as well.

Exacty. Funny how Glenn Beck calls his website “The Blaze” and the GBTV motto is “The Truth Lives Here”. The blaze/fire/flame metaphor pops up constantly in connection with revolution, socialism, communism, nationalism, Nazism etc. Plus the GBTV motto rings similar to The Soviet paper “Pravda” (The Truth), yet Beck still shamelessly insinuates that the fact that Obama has chosen the word “forward” as a motto is proof of his ties to/love of communism?

If we could just wake up the folks in Pennsylvania and Ohio to seeing that their jobs are never coming back under this global agenda that the Socialist Progressives are pushing with Obama as their front man then we might possibly be able to turn this around.
It will take 12 years to get us back to a free market country and another 8 to return us to the freedoms we have lost as a people.
We are the one nation that has everything we need to be self sufficient, we don’t need other countries to survive. When we were growing closer to that under Reagan the progressive in both parties stepped up and began attacking are Constitution and our free market.
We can produce enough oil at home to provide for our needs. We continue to see the decline in usage and the opportunity to drill in the US in order to stop importing.
Let the Middle Eastern countries drink oil and eat sand, enough is enough.

Those that knew that their was too much mystery, too many unanswerd question and no real history about the man. Obama used to have someone who was very expert at hiding these messages in his campaign speeches. Good examples include his use of Si Se Puede instead of Podemos sí as a translation of his “yes we can” slogan. The second means yes we can. The first is both a pro-socialism children‘s book in spanish as well as an international socialist rallying cry and the slogan of Cesar Chavez’s United Farm Workers. Non socialist, non-hispanics thought it was just “yes we can” in spanish. The hispanic and socialist audiences got the true message.
Similarly, while running against Clinton, Obama was giving a speech to an all black crowd. He said something like “they’re trying to come in here and give you the okey doke. Ya’ll remember the okey doke. Almost everyone I have asked has no idea what that means. They seem to think its the same as okey dokey. However, ALL of the blacks, especially the older ones, know exactly what the okey doke is. It’s when the white politicians come in to pander to the black voter during primaries and then ignore them after the election.
Why is this relevant? Because it means that the current Forward slogan, is completely calculated and intentional. They figure it is safe to take the gloves off.
