Four Gunmen Storm Iraqi Home to Kill Elderly Christian Couple

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi police are reporting a new attack on Christians in Baghdad by gunmen who broke into the home of an elderly couple and killed them.
It was the latest in a series of attacks on the country’s Christian minority, which has been fleeing the country in droves since an Oct. 31 assault on a Catholic church that killed 68.
Al-Qaida’s front group in Iraq has threatened Christians, saying the violence is retribution for Egypt’s Coptic Church holding women captive for converting to Islam.
Police said four gunmen raided the home in a predominantly Shiite neighborhood Sunday evening and repeatedly shot the couple with silenced pistols before escaping. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media.

These are not extremists acting outside of the muslim faith, the Qur‘an teaches to kill infidel or anybody who doesn’t follow Allah or the prophet Mohamed. There are three options for nonbelievers at the the hands of Islamists – Death, become their slave, or convert to Islam.

I so wish we Christians had a ‘mantra’ or ‘slogan’ to cling to that would reinforce the fact that the “religion of peace” are killing the people who are of the “religion of reason” or some such.
Uh oh…….that would call forth the ACLU for insensitivity. Well, MY sensitivity is insulted by calling ALL Muslims people the people of peace, because it’s a BIG, FAT LIE to assert such!

Posted on December 5, 2010 at 7:47pmI do not know for certain but I suspect that the Bush administration was not strong enough in pushng for religious liberty gaurantees in the Iraqi government because they sensed the coalition would collapse. But the government needs to be proactive in fighting Islamic jihads against Christians and I don’t think it is. It should have been made a more secukar state like Turkey. An Islamic state without a king or dictator is too weak to resist the Islamist fanatics. The end result will be a Christian-free Iraq, for the first time in 2,000 years. What a tragedy.

That’s why Saddam ruled the way he did and quashed any uprising with brutal force. A very important question was asked before Iraq war. “Is Iraq the way it is because of Saddam, or it Saddam the way HE is because of Iraq”…..I think we are now finding out the answer to that. Shia will hunt down Christians and kill them where ever they find them.

Posted on December 5, 2010 at 9:23pmIt is not true that the Sunnis are not as radical as the Shia. Sharia was created by the Sunnis, as was Wahabism. Al Qaeda is a militant exression of Wahabism. Shia Twelvers are radical in being willing to destroy the world for it own good, but they are a small minority, unfortunately in power in Iran. Sunnis do however favor more power in the hands of non-mullahs, which makes them more accepting of secualr type rulers like Sadam.

The four men used silenced pistols, showing something is up other than a terrorist hit – terrorists prefer the targets be eliminated in the most obvious and horrific styles possible to garner the most attention.

If we get an actual Christian in the white house i hope he gets those people out…we did on some level start a religious war, being a christian nation invading muslim nations…we need to look after our own.
