‘Four More Months!’ Romney & Supporters Counter-Heckle Hecklers

Four More Months! Romney & Supporters Counter Heckle HecklersDemonstrators stand near the site of a campaign stop by Republican presidential candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at Sweetie-licious Bakery (AP Photo/Evan Vucci)

Is it just us or has former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney gotten really good at engaging rowdy hecklers and using their outbursts as opportunities to reiterate his campaign message?

After today’s speech in DeWitt, Mich., it’s certainly starting to look that way.

Speaking outside the Sweetie-licicious Bakery Cafe on Tuesday, Romney addressed the economy, high unemployment, and the need to embrace pro-business, pro-growth solutions. However, it wasn’t long before a contingent of anti-Romney protesters tried to disrupt his speech with repeated shouts of “four more years!”

(Related: Anti-Romney Protesters in Michigan Say They Were Paid to Heckle)

But instead of getting flustered and stomping off, Romney simply used their protest as an excuse to contrast his proposed policies with President Obama’s.

“Yeah, listen, I hear some people chanting ‘four more years.’ Who wants four more years of Obamacare?” Romney asked to a thunderous “no!”

“Who wants four more years of Dodd-Frank that makes it harder for banks to make loans to small business?” he asked to a similar reaction. “Who wants four more years of energy policies that say we can’t use our own coal and our gas? Who wants four more years of higher taxes? Who wants four more years of greater and greater regulations that strangles small businesses?”

Romney concluded by addressing the drowned-out hecklers: “Sorry, the guys who want four more years, you can stay on that side of the street! We’re getting American working again on this side of the street!”

Watch Romney engage the hecklers [via The Right Scoop]:

“Look, if I’m president of this country, I’m going to almost do the exact opposite of –” Romney said before noticing that his supporters were chanting “four more months!”

“Yeah, that’s good, let’s have a chant for four more months,” Romney said. “Yeah, four more months. That’s about right.”

We need to not only vote obama out but get that list of the 80 communists in the democratic party and vote them out. Look for the oone in your state and vote against them. Getting rid of obama alone isn’t going to do it, you have to get rid of the soros democratic machine behind him. Actually obama has no real power, he’s been bought and paid for a long time ago. His life is in the hands of his owners, the communists. There is a whole lot of communists, islamics and muslim brotherhood that we need to get rid of to get our country back. We can’t stop with the election, we have to stand up and fight.

      @Problemsoiver

Do you know how stupid you look when you try making comparisons of videos from over 30 years go? That is ridiculous. Romney is a “converted” conservative, who after seeing the light over the past few years moved to the right. When you show videos from such a long time ago, it doesn’t give an accurate nor valid argument to claim that Romney is Obama. It would be similar to as if I were to show you a picture of New York from 4000 years go and say “Hey look New York is just like the jungle! There are no buildings!!” Well guess what? Since the last 4000 years a lot has changed.

@Constant, That’s fair. It hasn’t really been thirty years ago, but I hear what you’re saying. You say he’s “seen the light and moved right”, but how do we know that? I mean afterall he is a Harvard lawyer politician, and I haven’t met too many lawyers or politicians who were honest in any regard, let alone one from an elitist institution. On the other hand, our guy has been saying the EXACT SAME THING for the past 30 years. Besides for me, it’s all about freedom. I don‘t think we’re anything special as a nation without it and Romney expressed his anti-freedom views last year in the debates.

But big problem. If we return to the constitution, the president does not have the power to do almost anything on your list. All of the agencies were formed and funded by Congress. Unless you want another dictator-in-chief, it will take congress to make these changes. It would be nice to see our president lead/call for these changes. Hopefully, Rand Paul in ‘16 will.

Do you have anyone in mind who can do all this? I am a Ron Paul supporter just as you sound, but he has pretty much silently bowed out. If he would stay in and form a 3rd party, all it would do is split the conservative vote and ensure Obama for another term. No, the best thing to do is take back the Republican Party and elect conservatives like Ron and Rand Paul. Just like how the communists took over the Democratic Party, the Tea Party conservatives need to take back the Republican Party. That is better than starting a 3rd party that will just ensure the Democrats run Washington for the foreseeable future. It’s (tea) time to take the party back.

      HIGHLY DOUBTFUL:
“I am a Ron Paul supporter just as you sound, but….”
      TACTIC IMPLEMENTED:
Anti-Paul, anti-liberty folks always telegraph who they are by beginning a string of propaganda with “I’m a Paul supporter… but“ Note the inevitable ”but…”

      LIE:
“he has pretty much silently bowed out.”
      TRUTH:
Leftist, amnestying, Romneycaring, chickenhawking, Constitution-shredding Romney IS NOT the nominee.

      LIE:
“If he would stay in and form a 3rd party…”
      TRUTH:
If the leftist gop successfully cheat-nominates leftist Romney, THEY will have split the conservative vote to reelected Obama – just like 08 WHEN THEY ELECTED HIM by cheat-nominating leftist McCain. It’s a pretty obvious scam.

      STRATEGY:
      “take back the Republican Party”
      RESULTS:
2008 – leftist McCain split the conservative vote – leftist President Obama
2010 – “Tsunami” of MORE leftist republicans, “Patriot” Act, NDAA, SOPA/PIPA/CISPA, MORE debt, MORE nation-building, CR, CR, CR, CR, UC extentions, MORE perpetual amnesty, MORE TSA, debt ceiling HIKES, SPEND, etc, etc.

      INCORRECT:
“communists took over the Democratic Party,
      CORRECT:
They “took over” BOTH the D‘s AND R’s.

      MORONIC GIBBERISH:
“It’s (tea) time to take the party back.”
      REALITY:
The leftist GOP has co-opted and neutered much of the tea party. “Back”… to WHAT?

      CONCLUSION:
Ron Paul OR THIRD PARTIES! The ONLY WAYS to save us from the leftist democrat/republican party!

Actually the promise did help get Bush(1) elected.
Unfortunately he compormised with democrats and their promise of cuts that never happened. His mistake was in the compromise, not the slogan. For some reason, the media jumped all over Bush for this, but not Obama. B.O. promised no new taxes on those making less than 250K, yet signed an increase on cigarette taxes the first month. I did not realize that all smokers made more than 250k.

That isn’t going to happen, each candidate has those items about him that you disagree with, take Ron Paul for example. He’s great on every thing BUT foreign policy, now that’s a major item to disagree with! You don’t see this with Romney now, so I’d suggest you get over your Hissy Fits and think about what you wrote. The people who voted in the primaries spoke, that may not be the one you wanted but that’s how our election system works. Here is the TRUTH: All politicians say what they need to get elected and then they govern. They know full well what the people want becuase they got elected. Now if they don’t do what we want and betray us – as in Obama – then we need to elect the next politician who says what the people want and throw the bum out. That is our check and balance. Texasknight, I’ve been asking for someone to tell me the differences they see in Obama and Romney for a while now, and you’ve done so, and your points are valid. Those things would be better, in theory. Gas prices could go down in how many years it actually takes to start pumping and Catholics would feel better. (I don’t believe anyone is going to base their decision on having an abortion on whether or not the Catholics have to pay for birth control) And those gas prices would certainly be offset by Romney’s overly militant foreign policy. Romney’s foreign advisors are a part of the Neoconservative movement. (the real movement, not just a Paulbot catch phrase) So while you’re right (and admire you for actually spelling it out) I see those differences as trivial. Either way we’re going to end up with more debt, less freedom and more wars/nation building. And I‘m afraid the next time we get involved in the middle east the escalation would be much greater than anything we’ve seen before. NATO countries are collapsing, while those ME countries’ allies (Russia/China) economies and military are expanding. Besides how can we fix other countries’ societies when ours is so broken? meh, You made valid points, but I’m with many other Paul supporters in not really seeing a difference. I hope we’re wrong.

      Ooooopsy… I spotted a few… er… inaccuracies….

      LIE:
“So while you work to get obama re-elected”
      TRUTH:
If the leftist gop successfully cheat-nominates leftist Romney, THEY (I repeat) THEY will have split the conservative vote to REELECT Obama – same as 08 when they ELECTED him, by cheat-nominating leftist McCain. The “lesser evil” scam is fairly obvious to spot, as it’s used by the leftist gop EVERY VOTING CYCLE.

      LIE:
“I look at the future you, and others like you, will give to our children and grandchildren.”
      TRUTH:
The repeated “lesser evil” SCAM has WASTED HANDFULS OF ELECTION CYCLES. I’ve been building for my grandchildrens future by strengthening third parties for YEARS. It’s a pity few others sacrifice for other generations. No, the SELFISH people vote TO PRESERVE WHAT LITTLE FREEDOM THEY THINK THEY HAVE LEFT… FOR THEMSELVES! Very self-centered… and has ultimately DESTROYED THE VERY FUTURE THEY CLAIM TO BE PRESERVING.

      INCOMPLETE:
“the destruction of this great nation via obama.”
      COMPLETE:
“… AND Bush, Clinton, Boehner, Pelosi, Ryan, Reid, Frank, McCain, Hatch, Spector, Cantor, McConnell, Santorum, Gingrich, Scott Brown, etc, etc… get my drift?

@Brother Winston, The “lesser of two evils” approach really confuses me. How can anything GOOD come of voting for the EVIL to any degree? Voting over and over for the lesser of two evils and hoping we get a better candidate next time around is the very definition of insanity, no? (Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result) Eventually we’re going to have to take a stand against EVIL and the longer we wait, the harder it will be.

Romney is going to have to get a lot tougher, if he’s going to beat that evil liar Obama.
Romney’s speeches are too sweet, and his TV and internet ads are too sweet, just like loser McCain’s speeches and ads.

Mr. Romney, take off the gloves and fight street style. Dig up all the dirt you can find on Obama and expose him. Do what Obama does, use negative ads. It works fine for the Democrats.

You fail to recognize that AMERICANS ARE FED UP WITH CHICAGO THUGGERY! That is one of Mitt’s great appeals: He is a classy guy who will NOT resort to “street fighting” and getting “down and dirty.” The one thing he must never do is stoop to the depths of his opponent. And he’s not likely to do so either. That is why he will WIN in a landslide. After the current debacle, America is HUNGRY for DECENCY and some CLASS–which Mitt and Ann will bring to our White House.

And you guys who keep whining about “not voting for lesser of two evils” need to grow up, before your infantile attitude puts the current MESS back into our White House. We cannot afford four more years of that bunch of thugs!

Romney cannot win, I keep telling people this, but all of you are so blinded by the media, that it is going to take a boulder landing on you in order to see that things are in array. I live in a mostly Democrat state, and I talk to Dems everyday, every one of them tell me they do not trust Romney and they will hold their nose for Obama (kinda like you guys), but a large percentage of them say they would vote for Paul. Romney cannot get the youth as they are mostly Paul supporters and they will stay home or write in Paul, Paul supporters, who make up a very good percentage of Independents will write Pauls name in in protest. You Republicans are not going to get Romney in by yourselves, how do you plan on getting him elected? Election Fraud? Paul, in his own way, gave his OK for supporters to fight, continue with the lawsuit and he even finally told that many Romney delegates are his supporters on Wolf Blitzer. We are just hitting full throttle. The delegates will be unbound, you watch.

There is NO way a liberal would skip over a rino(your words about Romney) for a right wing nut(their words) like Paul. So, they would hold their nose for Obama, but pull the lever for Paul? Dream on, McDuff. I personally like Paul but I’m not an idiot when it comes to reality. And Paul supporting(in his own way?) stealing the nomination by legal shenaigans? Doesn’t sound like a trustworthy guy to me. What’s next–presidential fiat? Executive Order? He has never garnered support for his bills, etc, as a senator, and now he is going to effect HUGE change all by himself as president? This is why folks call you paulbots crazy. Nobody likes being poor. Nobody likes being homeless and jobless with absolutely no prospects in the future. And nobody likes being manipulated, deceived and lied to. When someone tells us a lie, they are at the same time, saying, “I believe you are too stupid to know I am lying to you.” It is insulting, a slap in the face. Americans are sick and tired of Obama’s condescension, arrogance, dishonesty and deceit. What’s more… the American people are in real pain, real trouble and suffering.

More and more Democrats are waking up to the realization that Obama is an empty suit, a slick, smooth-talking con man with a dishonest autobiography and extensive history of past associations with radicals, unrepentant terrorists and extremists. They are realizing he is a very destructive socialist and has only his own best interests at heart. No matter what he says or how he says it, people know it’s a lie because they are living the miserable truth. At least with Romney, we will have a God-loving, American president who loves this country and will reverse every “fundamental transformation” crime Obama has perpetrated against our nation.

Barack Obama will go down in history as the most horrible president this nation has ever had to endure. He is the laughing stock of the entire world, a supreme embarrassment to our nation and the most destructive enemy to our Constitution.

i have seen the video of when he was running for state office that he claimed to be a progressive or not really all that republican, but i don’t want a republican, i want a conservative thinker who will give fixing the country at the fed level a fighting chance.

that being said, i remember ronald reagan starting out as a liberal, then as he got into politics he saw the light and went on to stop all kinds of liberal legislature and prevent our demise economically, and he kept our souls in doing it.

im not saying romney is reagan. reagan died a long time ago. I’m saying that he is romney, not obama, not reagan, not anyone other that himself and romney has a lot more potential to save our government than anyone else in the ring right now. so lets all try to do the smart thing an rally behind a greater good or lesser evil, whatever you want to call it

I’ve come to the realization that there are those who will cut off their nose to spite their face, who will look in the face of reality and deny it, substituting their own illustions so they can feel superior to others. I’ve seen people who call their belief faith, but it is based in falsehood. It is really sad, when you think about it. Most of these folks are hard working, get ahead kind of people. they just don’t get the bigger picture. I would love to move our country much further to the right than most. But it took decades for us to get where we are. I pray it will take less time than that to move us back, but it won’t happen in one presidency or even one decade. There are those who would rather condem us with a KNOWN bad president than have THEIR candidate lose. Pure pride and arrogance. I will vote for ANYONE who has a chance to beat obama. That best person is Romney. He isn’t perfect, but he is a real alternative to what we have now and will get us started on the right path. If we also give him a conservative congress he will make huge strides in correcting what has gone wrong. And you know, when Romney seals the nominaton at the convention, I won’t be looking for sniveling Paul supporters. I‘ll be putting my arm around everyone and inviting them to get on board the ’beat obama train’. Anyone that doesn’t advocate that is not living in reality or a true obamaton. LIE:
“weak as weak can be on the middle east”
      TRUTH:
The Romney/Obama isolationist foreign policy of welfare, warfare, propping up and tearing down is NOT ONLY “weak,” but bloody, bankrupting and fruitless. Paul’s NONINTERVENTION MAKES OUR MILITARY AND NATIONAL DEFENSE STRONGER.

      LIE:
      “borders”
      TRUTH:
Paul is STRONG of national sovereignty with his NO DREAM AMNESTY, NO welfare magnet, NO birthright citizenship (doesn’t exist anyway) and NO AMNESTY. Obama/Romney, on the other hand are FULL-ON PRO-AMNESTY.

      LIE:
      “drugs”
      TRUTH:
Paul supports CONSTITUTIONAL decentralized government and the STATES (per the 10th) handling issues like “drugs,” rape, murder, etc. Support for decentralized government… does not make me “pro-rape.”

      TRAGICALLY FUNNY:
“we just cant have that.” Spoken like a true UNAMERICAN AUTHORITARIAN. “WE” (FAKE-conservative, huge-government folks) “just can’t have” the CONSTITUTION and Bill of Rights. Millions disagree. Everything that Brother Winston Smith said is true. No matter Romney will lose, Obama will win, and there will be no difference in how this country is run. Yall brainwashed social neo cons are a bunch of fools. Yall probably scared of getting your social programs taking away . . . that’s why you want Romney the Rhino.

Texasboy, Stop being brainwashed by the media, Paul is not out of the race, he is going all the way to the convention. The lawsuit filed by Lawyers for Ron Paul a week ago Monday will unbind the delegates to vote their conscience on the first round. Paul just gave an interview today where he finally admitted that a lot of Romney delegates are actually his supporters. If they are unbound (and they will be) and if Paul has 1144 supporters there as delegates, unbound on the first round, Paul wins! Do not count anyone out yet. Just stating the facts that you will never hear on the establishment media.

Oleffrom, There is some talk of Johnson within our ranks, but with the help of patriots like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXhY1j3ZAMs&feature=youtu.be
We will be able to get them back into their ranks the proper way. The r3VOLution is in full speed ahead mode. We will win. We will make the changes needed to get back to a Republic again, we will change the way elections are done in the future. We will make it where people will have no choice but to wake up, get involved, and work hard for their candidates in order toget them nominated. WE WILL NOT QUIT!
      Write In Ron Paul!!

I like it. Conservatives have to stop being the nice people concerning our nations future. We have held our tongues for too long. Don’t be afraid of shouting down the dem libs. Shout for what you believe and never apologize for what you believe in.

Hey ———–BO, here’s a shout out to you!!!! FOUR MORE MONTHS, then go on vacation with MO.

Oh! I think vacation has been the Obama’s MO for three and one half years, you guy’s should slide into that permanent vacation with no problem.

@ SHOWME, I wasn’t too crazy earlier about Romney but, he has a sharp comeback, good answers, and I can now see he is growing/learning as it goes. I just hope he upholds the Oath of Office. We’ve been treated like a whore before.

I guess Romney supporters are a little embarrassed about being caught passing out “homemade” signs, in an attempt to look like he has passionate supporters like Ron Paul. Now, from the images shown, I guess they hand out crisp flags. Illegal alien groups do that too.

Its time to move on…. Ron Paul is not the Republican Candidate for President of the United States of America. Your choice is to deal with reality or continue on down the Yellow Book Road. The Choice is Yours

Oooops, Toltepeceno. No… the ONLY THING hurting Paul’s chances at anything are FAKE-conservatives who LOVE huge-government and HATE America liberty. But maybe I could appear more… er… rational… if I had a childish, photoshop-mangled profile pic of the leftist President?

Paperpusher, another one who believes the lie. Romney has not gotten the required delegates for one, another is that no candidate has ever gotten the nomination before the first round at the convention, even if he is the only one left. There is still a candidate that has not dropped out or even suspended his campaign, who is that? Oh yeah, Ron Paul. When the lawsuit is heard, the judge will have no choice but to unbind the delegates and today, Ron Paul in an interview, finally admitted that there are a lot of his supporters as Romney delegates. See you in Tampa.

Now watch MSNBC pick up on the part where Romney says “four more months” and say he’s so clueless that he thinks he will take office in October if he wins the election.

The first minute is all you need to watch (actually less than that). If Romney sticks on redirecting to policy, he wins in a LANDSLIDE beyond all comparison. He did an excellent job out of the gate on this. (I sure hope he didn’t screw up the second part as I am about to watch it).
