Fox Legal Analyst: Obama Staffer May Have Violated FEC Regs by ‘Coordinating’ Attacks in Anti-Romney Ads

Blaze readers at this point know all about the pro-Obama ad tying Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to the death of former GST Steel employee Joe Soptic’s wife.

Since the release of the ad, the reaction from both sides has been a thick mixture of shock and disgust.

But here’s something interesting: In her attempt to kinda’-sorta’ distance the Obama campaign from the clearly fraudulent ad, Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter claimed she didn’t know the details of Soptic’s situation.

“Is this ad accurate? Is it fair?” CNN’s John Berman asked Cutter during a Wednesday interview.

“I don’t know the facts about when his wife got sick, or the facts about his health insurance,” Cutter replied.

Hold on there, Stephanie. There’s a problem with your claim:

Yeah, that conference call is from May. Cutter knew about Soptic. In fact, as we’ve mentioned before on TheBlaze, Soptic has been working the anti-Romney beat for some time now.

But wait! There’s more! Apparently, in denying she knew anything about Soptic’s situation, Cutter may have violated Federal Election Commission regulations.

“Now it comes out that it appears Ms. Cutter is not telling the truth,” Fox News’ legal analyst Peter Johnson said during a Thursday morning broadcast of “Fox & Friends.”

“Fox and Friends” guest host Alisyn Camerota pointed out that although Cutter is familiar with Soptic, it doesn’t necessarily mean she knew anything about his ailing wife.

“That’s not running afoul of the law, is it,” Camerota said.

“Oh, it might be,” said Johnson. “Under the Federal Election Commission there could be civil penalties and more.”

As some of you may remember from the Republican presidential primaries, independent Political Action Committees are not to have any form of coordination with campaigns. But if Cutter was working with Soptic all the way back in May, and he’s now appearing in vicious campaign ads …

“In my view, that quote — that tape recording — shows a real awareness that they were coordinating this thing,” said Johnson.

      This kind of collusion is endemic to the Obama campaign. They have so many propagandist agents out there working. Some doing pro-Obama ads, others making ones to trash Romney, others spreading misinformation, while still others are working “damage-control”. Once you understand that this bunch of incompetent Progressive minions has to spread all of this deception WITHOUT falling afoul of the law or outing themselves, you realize that there WILL BE a few train-wrecks along the way. It is only going to get funnier as we roll into the election.

      You need to do some research. Even MSNBC reported this morning that Obama’s team used him a month prior in a different propaganda bit and gues what? He was wearing the exact same shirt. Furthuremore they replayed a conference call with this liar and the winch from awhile back.

      Septic is just like you, he hates successful people and wants to blame everyone else for their problems.

    The FEC are all a bunch of progressive stooges anyway. They have let the progressives register illegals, the dead, the entire Disney cast, mulitple voters, voter poll intimidation, allow trunk loads of alleged ‘lost’ ballots that are suddenly ‘found’ and turn after the count elections.

    The FEC is not going to do anything about this. Just like they didn’t anything for the last election or when Clinton won.

      I am salivating to see Cutter fired. Obama rolled her out when he realised Axelrod grates on people and wasn’t working. Cutter is the dullard that tried to sell Romney as a felon…and here’s Cutter now appearing to have broken FEC regulations. This is room for the RNC to push for an investigation on Cutter. Obama will throw her under the bus because the story has gained traction. Even the AP has had to run a story on Obama’s involvement with Soptic before the superpac ad. There’s even a recording of Cutter speakign to Soptic about his wife. She‘s toast and I’ll be ecstatic to see the slimy liberal get thrown under the bus.

      Nothing will come of this. What happened to Holder being ordered to turn over Fast and Furious files? Nothing, not a darn thing. Nobama is our first and only black president, what a laugh, he is not black, he is half Caucasian, and half *****, and he is going to be the first DICTATOR AND PRESIDENT FOR LIFE. People our Beautiful country will cease to exist in 2013. Sharia law will become the law of the land.     Why isn’t anything being done about obama and his excesses? He does what he pleases and the Congress, the senate, the DOJ (of course holder will not do anything), nor the Armed Services will do anything. They all take oaths to the Constitution and to fight enemies ‘foreign and domestic’. Here we have an enemy in the office of the president who does as he pleases and our whole government is suddenly helpless. What happened to the ‘balance of powers’ that is so touted when speaking of our government? The common American is going to have to take a stand and march. We will have to reconstitute the Continental Army.

    I hope everyone is making a list so we can check it twice right before throwing all these crooks in jail.
    At the rate it’s going, the Obama administration will take up one whole block of cells in prison.
    Maybe they can call it, “Obama West Wing” and do a reality TV show from there.. where Michelle admits she loves prison food, Holder admits he did his best to keep the heat off Obama, and Obama finally admits he is a muslim homosexual who was bent on destroying America.

    If we had more Lawyers in this nation that “fought” progressive law, instead of “following it” like taught (Law, the highest study of indoctrination), we probably could not have been dragged to our new tyranny.

    Okay, why are you pointing this our? Even if they are guilty nothing will be done. It is as though the Republicans are afraid to push anything with Obama. Plus, we know that the MSM will not report on this.

    Bottom line is this: nothing will be done regarding this even if they violated the rule. The damage to Romney has been done because those who do not follow this (majority of the people) will only hear that because of Romney actions at Bain caused a lady to die of cancer. I have already overheard people saying this. This ad did exactly what they wanted it to do, scare those who are not paying attention and paint Mitt in a negative light. The problem is Mitt will do nothing about it. He really needs to grow a pair! But we all know Republicans are known to snatch a defeat out of the jaws of victory.

    Plus, if you really want to get technical, if this were true and the lady died because of her husband lost his job. Wouldn’t there real responsibility be with the people that ran the company before Bain Capital came in and took over. Bain Capital came in because the company was in trouble and they tried to turn it around, maybe if the previous managament ran the company better then Bain Capital would not have had to buy it in the first place and they wouldn’t have went out of business.

    There will be an investigation sometime in 2013, maybe 2016 if Barry wins. Right now they can molest a sheep on the steps of the Capital while killing baby kittens, and no one will investigate or report it. It is a free for all up to the election, and of course the lame duck session. And even if Barry loses, I guarantee there will be a record amount of pardons issued.

    Of course the Obama campaign will deny that they coordinated with Priorities USA…BUT they DID!! Will Eric “The Red” Holder do anything about it? Highly unlikely!!       I believe it can be done by Presidential Pardon. Or a granting of unconditional amnesty for all crimes may be achieved by Executive Fiat – I am not sure on that, though with Obama and his madness he will do as he pleases. Just do not be shocked if the military has to go in and remove him after he fails to leave office and Ronmey is sworn in.
