Fox News Anchor Chris Wallace Pulled Over During Radio Interview: ‘I’m About to Get Arrested’

This is awkward and slightly embarrassing. But it has a better ending than what it seems.

Fox News host Chris Wallace was giving a radio interview to Jamie Allman of  97.1 FM in St. Louis on Thursday. But partway through, he ended it abruptly. Why? Because he was getting pulled over.

(Related: Fox show gets awkward after host asks Wallace how much his ticket cost)

“Jamie, I’m going to have a problem here,” Wallace interrupted. “I‘m talking to you on a cell phone and there’s a policeman here. And I probably shouldn’t have been talking on the cell phone. So, ah, I’m about to get arrested. Good bye.”

You can listen to the audio below via Gateway Pundit:

But before you go claiming excessive police force, Fox News told Mediate that Wallace was not, in fact, arrested. That means he was likely just being hyperbolic. We don’t even know if he was issued or ticket, or if the phone was even the reason he was pulled over.

But it sure made for great radio.

Wallace never draws blood interviewing libs, only conservatives. Some people are good drivers and some not. Cellphone, eating, drinking (coffee or soda), kids riding, smoking, and the radio are all distractions and can be dangerous. The libs will outlaw all of these and happily arrest us daily for anything if we let them keep making excessively strict laws. Driving can be dangerous. We must be careful.

Running with scissors is dangerous, playing with knives is dangerous. It’s called Natural Selection. If a person is too dumb to pay attention while driving we can only hope that that person only takes him/herself out and no one else. Besides, life is too short to be so paranoid about every little thing. When your time’s up, it’s up.

What is it with FOX news that allows these talking morons to even be on the air. Fair and balanced is horse hockey. Juan Williams is there just to make Hannity look more intelligent. Please! If you can‘t talk on a phone while driving down a freeway then you shouldn’t be allowed to drive. If your cell phone use results in “distracted driving” then there’s a law for that. Reckless driving is reckless driving whether the reason is texting or fiddling with the radio or eating or putting on makeup. Why should drivers who are driving safely while on the phone be punished for all those who cannot walk and chew gum at the same time? Ridiculous nannies.

Because you can monetize minor infractions much more easily than a broad “reckless driving” charge, which carries court costs and other elements of due process. Follow the money.

      @Flayer

I agree with you whole-heartedly! Reckless driving should be the catch all for all these other ridiculous, politically motivated laws. You see, a politician can make their voters feel like he/she has listened to them AND done something about their grip of the day. They could care less about how complex they are making it for the cops to write a ticket for the correct infraction, now easy they make it for defense lawyers to exploit these complexities, or how much work in the way of meetings, hearings, drafts, resolutions, ordinances and all the labor costs involved in this bureacracy at tax-payer expense.
The K.I.S.S method of “keeping it simple, stupid” has obviously fallen on deaf ears.

Henceforth everyone traveling in a moving motorized vehicle must wear tape over their mouths.

Drivers must not only wear seatbelts but must tie both hands to the steering wheel.

Reason #497,734 of 1,000,000 ways to be criminalized in this country. The average person probably is breaking a dozen laws a day, they just don’t know it.. Soon to be added to the list, breathing, owning a fossil fuel burning car, and speaking your mind.

Exactly. In practical terms, Anarchy is not the absence of written down laws (ice skaters in a skating rink organize themselves just fine with no rules on which direction and speed to skate).
Anarchy is when there is an overabundance of poorly worded, overly broad regulations piled layer upon layer such that the government can always find something to use to persecute someone they don’t like.

All politics and “talking headedness” aside… I ride a motorcycle 160 miles a day to and from work and I’m active duty… Having to commute that far 5 days a week hurts especially when I’m enlisted and struggling to pay my bills, support my family and commute that far with gas prices the way they are… But seeing ANYONE talking on a cellphone while I’m riding is like a personal offense to me in regards to my safety. Being in the Navy is rough enough now a days without the added worry of if, or not, I’ll make it home to my family because someone just COULD NOT WAIT to stop to have that phone conversation while they were doing the mundane activity of driving their 4,000+ pound chunk of plastic and steel down the road… But If it were up to me… Cell phone while driving = Arrest for willful endangerment of the public. And I HATE new laws… But I would vote for that one in a second.

My commutes on the bike are short, but I still get close to being taken out at least once every few weeks. But, I will put much of the blame on myself for choosing to ride amongst a country of complete dolts.

Just today at lunch I had a dude stopped coming up on my left, looked right at me and pulled out (thankfully slowly) about 40 feet from me, giving me time to stop – almost without locking up the rear tire. Strange thing is, if it isn’t complete idiocy responsible for this, explain why my 27 years of driving cars and trucks has never seen me even come close to taking out a cyclist???

      Chris
I agree, it’s bad enough trying to avoid knuckleheads on cellphones while driving a car. I always give wide berth to motorcycles. You never know what will happen. My dad always said to give a lot of room to people walking on the side of the road, because you never know what they will do.
People walking to places is not something I see much anymore. I used to walk everywhere when I was younger.

That is a good idea. I don‘t own a cell phone so don’t know alot about distraction etc. but if there is a law on the books, don’t do it while driving. Here in Mt. many cities are giving warnings & then when the law is in affect, issue fines.
Chris Wallace is such a gentleman. Encore is going to show one of my all time favorite movies, “Goodbye, Mr. Chips”, 1969, a remake of a movie about a dedicated schoolmaster that falls in love with a “complete-opposite” woman…starring Peter O’toole & Petula Clark (singer-”Down-Town”)…the ending is sad but moving right along….Chris is like the dedicated schoolmaster & don’t know that much about his wife, but I think she has “complimented” Chris and makes him “less-serious”. Love Chris’s reaction when the DesperateHouseWife actress KNOWS CHRIS & really likes him…classic reservered & shy Chris to be COMPLETELY speechless!!!
Gretchen is like a Doris Day…..the”lovable-blond-guy” is like the neighbor of that loud bus driver in the old tv series…and last but not least, Brian is like a good-looking/funny Tony Curtis. I rocked-out with Def Leppard this a.m…..I love to wake-up with the “3” and their show is filled with news & fun. Some say, “get-a-life”..well being retired, I can enjoy my home & entertainment.
      Have a great day, America!!!
