Fox News Show Gets Awkward After Host Asks Chris Wallace the Cost of His Talking-While-Driving Ticket

Chris Wallace Explains Ticket During Awkward Fox InterviewAs we mentioned on Thursday, “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace was pulled over for talking on his cellphone while doing a radio interview for a St. Louis station (hear the audio here). At the time he said was about to get arrested, but instead he just got a ticket. On Friday, he joined the crew of “Fox & Friends” to lightheartedly discuss the issue. But instead of being fun, things turned awkward.

It all started when the show started playing siren noises. Wallace, who had opened by trying to be a good sport as the show forced him to listen to the audio on live TV, didn’t take kindly to that.

“Can you drop the sirens? Please drop the sirens,” Wallace pleaded. Then he explained what happened:

“I was running a little late. I have a regular [radio interview] at 9:37 with our affiliate in St. Louis. I was talking to them. I couldn’t pull over because it was street where there was no–. As soon as I made the turn, I pulled over. But a policeman saw me and he came up behind and he said, ‘you’re on your cell phone,’ “I said, ‘I was talking on the radio.’ He said, ‘I don’t care’ – as he shouldn’t have – and he gave me a ticket.”

“What was it,” asked Carlson. “How much?”

“You know, I kind of feel like I’ve said everything I need to say, Gretchen,” replied Wallace.

Carlson tried to save face by saying they were just trying to have “fun.” But after the crew moved on to other topics, they eventually came back and Wallace said, again slightly awkwardly, that he knew the hosts were going to pan him and hinted that he wasn’t looking forward to it. Oh, and the show rewarded him by playing the sound of a jail cell closing.

FOR network (Friends Of Romney) is just as progressive as CNN it just doesn’t take the hard left turn
as often as CNN. the only true conservative they have is sean hannity and he is a shill for the GOP.
I only watch fox because it’s barely passible.

I don’t understand why those of you who dislike Fox News continue to watch it? It is not the only channel on your TV. You have so many other choices: CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, CSPAN, CURRENT TV, and my personal favorite (NOT)….MSNBC. Fox doesn’t even have to be a blip on your radar.

I’ve stopped watching his show after his rude questions to Bachman. Obviously, the police acted stupidly by not recognizing who they pulled over for breaking the law! I believe there are openings at CNN and MSNBC for him – he’ll fit in just like the rest of their biased libs.

The revenuer did not see him “on his cell phone.” He saw Wallace with an electronic device up to his ear. He could have been listening to a downloaded MP3.

If you think the difference is a nuance, consider this. The revenuer or his agency will never produce evidence that Wallace was talking on a cell phone — phone records &c. Wallace will be convicted on an accusation and an admission, but not on evidence. In America, that is a fundamental consideration. When govt wins because the people don’t enforce their rights, we get what we deserve.

Chris really lacks the class he like to think he projects. He‘s always promoting his wife’s cooking, which is getting old. He’s always doing these call in bits, which are always a waste of time. His sense of humor is more liberal than conservative which reveals his sense of truth.

Wallace has a spark of conservativeness in him but he always defaults to liberalism, the religion of his mom, dad, and family. Libs can’t take a joke and that is what was seen on the F&F interview. Doocy and the rest joke around all the time. Wallace knew that in advance. That is their schtick on F&F.

Wallace is a lib but Carlson is a knucklehead! She does not know how to work with the humor (she’s so awkward with it…) and she does not know when to shut up. Her laugh is nails on a chalkboard.

Wallace knew it was coming, let it play and then wanted to move on…Carlson was too dense to take the hint.

FOX needs to replace Gretchen with Alisyn Camerota…great chemistry with Doocy and Kilmeade.

He didn’t argue with the cop and admitted what he was doing is wrong. That is much more than many liberals would do, though I’m not sure he is a true liberal. I think he leans that way, but I feel he does a good job of trying to be objective about 95% of the time, which

This could be for real. Kinda smells like it couldall just be made up, its something that will generate intrest from viewers, and having this happen to a known media person and have him admit his mistake also promotes the “dangers of cell phones”

Poetic justice? I wonder if Chris will remember how he felt during this interview when he’s grilling someone like Rand Paul, about what someone had said about him. Chris always seems to really enjoy grilling others when accused of some supposed wrong-doing.
With liberals like Chris, it’s always the seriousness of the charge, never the facts of the case.
