Fox vs. White House Round 2: Carney Draws ‘OOOOHs’ Again After Jabbing Fox Reporter

One day after White House Press Secretary Jay Carney had a verbal sparring match with new Fox News White House correspondent Ed Henry, Carney accused Henry of trying to create “a thing here for Fox” when Henry asked again about when the White House would submit its own debt plan to the Congressional Budget Office.

“We can do this again,” Carney said when Henry pointed out that both Senate Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had submitted their plans to the CBO.

“Has the Speaker of the House shown you the positions that he took in detail in negotiations that were designed to actually achieve a compromise as opposed to have a showboat?” Carney challenged. “We put forward a budget, we put forward a framework.”

When Henry continued to press about why a specific plan hadn’t been introduced as a bill, Carney interrupted him.

“I think I’ve answered the question,” Carney said. “I know you’re creating a thing here for Fox.”

“That‘s not what I’m doing, and you know better than that,“ Henry replied as a few laughs and ”OOOOHs” were heard in the room.

      I saw the speech (campaign) that Obama made to the American people. For the President of the United States of America to indicate that social security checks, medicare payments and military pay would be affected is outrageous. Did he indicate that US funding (22%) of the UN would be affected? No. How about our payments (monthly) to the IMF or foreign aid to all of these nations who hate the U.S. no matter how much money we send them. For us to keep funding all of these CRAPOLA programs while denying US citizens could and should lead to a revolt in this country. By the way, social security is not an entitlement, I PAID FOR IT!!!

      Progressivism has infected the Gov‘t like it did in the Early 1900’s and they are arguing the same crap that they did back then. They whined in 1903 that the upper 5% of the “Rich” income earners were not paying their “Fair Share”, who were those top 5%? They were the same actors in today’s Kabuki Theatre that Progressives are playing now. There is nothing new in their arguments, they said the same thing in 1908 to get a Federal Income Tax for the Top 5% in America to pay taxes on income that was previously not taxable since it was not considered as “Earned Income”, things like Capital Gains from the sale of property, stocks and interest income from savings accounts and profits from business owned by the “Rich”.

      So I am not really so hyped on this Debt issue because we have weathered a “Depression” before and at that time people were more resilient. But we now have generations that don’t know how to survive on their own any more.

      Social Security is an entitlement. You are not paying for you. You pay social security to take care of the next generation. The money you receive for social security was paid by someone else.

      Also, when he through out the social security and military pay issue, he was referring to the fact that he couldn’t guarantee that their would be someone to process and write the checks. Just because there is money for the social security, doesn’t mean the SSA will be staffed.

      I don’t understand why everyone is throwing the “fear mongering” thing around with the social security statement. How dare Obama try to scare the grannies!!! The hypocrisy is so thick around here. What about the “fear mongering” that was done during the Healthcare debates? Anyone remember the “death panels”???

      Generally, I agree with your comment, however Socialist Security IS an entitlement. At $1,200 per month in benefits, you‘re getting more than I’m paying into it. That means I‘d technically get a lot more when it’s my turn to suck from the public teet.

      @OAHUJACK: While I understand your outrage and agree with most of your statement, I must disagree with your belief that “Social Security is not an entitlement, I PAID FOR IT!!!” Actually, you did not pay for it for yourself. You paid for it for those who benefited from the ENTITLEMENT while you were paying into it. (If you are not currently a beneficiary of Social Security, then you are STILL paying into it for the CURRENT beneficiaries.) All Entitlements have to be paid for by Taxpayers (the Government actually has no money of its own), and it is not a Savings Account or an Investment: it is, in fact, a PONZI SCHEME. Bernie Madoff did the same thing as the Government, and he’s sitting in a Federal Prison as a result. Just a little something to think about.

      OAHUJACK: I agree with you that Obama is fearmongering saying he won’t have any money for the bills, but Social Security is, in fact, an entitlement. When you get a lot more out of a government program than you put in it, it’s an entitlement. When you don’t put any in and get something out, it’s an entitlement. The government promised you something it had no business promising, as it currently is doing to me. Look up Ida May Fuller and see if she earned all her SS payments.

      I think our founders would be more than ready to kick butt if they saw what was happening in this country today. They actually would have been at that point 100 years ago; but literally up in arms today. This butt monkey regime is beyond a joke, and the fact they aren’t willing to answer an honest and legitimate question surely illustrates this.
      As this is the case; one can only conclude tow things: 1. they really are that inept/incompetent, or 2. they are deliberately acting with such disdain since their objective is to destroy this nation. I suggest number 2 is correct, and number one is quite true as well.

I got it off the internet a couple years ago, can’t find it to tell you the title, something like socialism in Africa. He (Obama’s dad) suggested that you could tax the wealthy 100% and turn around and give them what they NEED (also known as putting them on Welfare and foodstamps) and it would be ok. He also advocated taking all land over a couple acres and giving it to “community ownership.”

    Obama doesn‘t have to put forth a budget he doesn’t have one and he not qualified to cretae one. It Congress’s Job to create a budget the presisdent can either sign it or not. aND IF HE CHOSES NOT 2/3 VOTE OF Congress can override him or they can make changes to get the president to sign.

      Come on Smith. Obama has more advisors and economic idiots working for and around him that could have a proposed budget prepared in about 10 minutes. It is Obama’s job to submit his proposal when all he can do is bash and threaten to veto any coming from the House and Senate. If he doesn’t like their proposals, then it is his duty to present one he does approve of and let the House and Senate debate it. I am personally sick of him acting like a baby. He needs to stand up and be a man, put his money where his loud mouth is.

      Obama did submit a proposed budget. It was rejected in the senate 97-0. He has not tried to submit any plan to the legislature since.

      He has his budget and doesnt want anyone to stop it from being the plan. If they elect a plan different than that budget then he would not be able to implement his budget “unofficially” which is exactly what he is doing.

      Yep, he‘s taking a page from the Robert Gibbs ’slip and slide’ book: “I think I have already answered that question (which of course he hadn’t), and moves on. You go, Ed Henry, and maybe some of the other WH reporters will get a back bone. Not likely, although you did get some under tone, which I guess is a start.

    No one on the Obama team will ever answer a straightforward question. They only go around the block and never answer the real question. This way they can get a laugh from the other media reporters because the Obama media are not allowed to ask any relevant questions. It would put them in a bad light.

      The destruction of this country is not singularly the product of the visible administration.Stupid- NO diabolical absolutely Obama was gfoomed for the presidency. A couple tons of C-notes financed his election bid. The Presidunces regime was constructed by some other entity. As a matter of fact, I sould submit that without the acquiesence of the “republicans” This would not have happened. *****(spelling intended) is showing his colors- as did Balless McConnell a couple weeks ago. Just a smple question. Out of a country the size and with the demographis of the US, how could a “major” party select “Maverick Milltoast McCain to be a presidential candidate. Coincidence? Mule Muffins!

      The Connie Mack plan is fantastic in its simplicity. If this never gets a vote, or is defeated, then for sure there is no desire to fix the debt and deficit issues.
