Fox‘s Ed Henry Responds to Megyn Kelly About Obama’s ‘Spokesperson for Romney’ Quip

Earlier today, we reported on the drama that unfolded after Fox News’ Ed Henry asked President Barack Obama a question about holding Iran accountable (read the original report here).
Following the awkward incident, Henry defended his question in a dialogue with Fox’s Megyn Kelly. ”It’s pretty typical to quote political opponents,” he said. In addressing his opinion on the quip, itself, he continued:
“He chose to say what he said. I’ll let that stand and let him say what he wanted to say. I think everyone can see that he decided not to engage with Mitt Romney. Instead, decided to kind of go after me a little bit.”

As you’ll recall, in asking his question, Henry quoted Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Obama’s response, which created some snickers among the other reports, was as follows: “I didn’t know you were the spokesperson for Mitt Romney.”

I still can’t believe your response. It is truly brilliant! It sort of reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George flies to some mid-western city to respond to a colleague who belittled him, it sort of went like this: “George, the ocean called, they are running out of shrimp!” – “Yeah, well, the jerk store called, and they’re running out of jerks!”.
Quite simply, I still cannot believe that you came up with that response all by yourself and in under 24-hours!

You should be a “reporter” for Fox News. that is truly one helluva response! I still can’t believe it! That is some of the best use of words since William Shakespeare has put pen to paper! Phenomenal! I have to write this down so I never forget it – it’s truly that brilliant!

Report Post »That being said, Obama displayed his typical lack of decorum and cooth in his ” I’m sensitive ” type reply. A snarky reply to a barb like the one the reporter asked, indicates someone incapable dependent upon the opinions of others to garner “ self esteem” value.
As of now I’m seriously doubting Obamas Christianity as well, for Christians are vertically esteemed and not horizontally esteemed, as Obama has repeatedly proven he is horizontal in his sense of self worth.

Sorry, Ed, but what you did is NOT pretty typical. it is typical to quote an opponent and get his reaction to that quote, NOT to quote him as some sort of relevant context to his recation to something else much more important. If Ed had said, “How do you respond to Mitt Romney saying that you don’t want America to be strong?” that would have been a legitimate question. I don’t like the gossip nature of such jouyranlism, but that’s what we have. But Ed did not do that. He mixed that question into a more important one about what Obama’s responce would be to Iran, aqnd in doing so rather implied that whatever Obama‘s action would be it would be designed to respond to Romney’s political attack.
That’s just a stupid and blatantly prejudicial question. I thought Fox was better than the rest of the garbage news. I don’t want garbage news ON MY SIDE. I want real honest news. What a concept.
Besides, Romney is not my guy.

Disagreeing with Obama is fine but he is the President and the Office alone deserves some semblance of respect even if you feel differently about the occupier.
