Freed CIA Contractor Raymond Davis Arrested In Colorado Following Parking Spot Fight

CIA Contractor Who Shot 2 Pakistani Men in January Arrested in US After Parking Spot Fight

(AP) A CIA contractor freed by Pakistani authorities after the families of two men he killed in a shootout agreed to accept a $2.34 million “blood money” payment from the U.S., was charged Saturday in Colorado, with authorities saying he got into a fight over a shopping center parking spot.

Deputies responding to an altercation between two men outside an Einstein Bagel in Highlands Ranch, south of Denver, took Raymond Davis into custody Saturday morning, said Douglas County Sheriff’s Lt. Glenn Peitzmeier.

The arrest was first reported by KMGH-TV Channel 7 in Denver, saying Davis was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting $1,750 bond.

Peitzmeier said the victim, who was not identified, refused medical treatment at the scene. Davis was freed from the Douglas County jail after posting bond, Peitzmeier said.

In January, Davis said he shot two Pakistani men who tried to rob him in Lahore. The case enraged many in the country, where anti-American sentiment runs high.

The U.S. insisted Davis had immunity from prosecution, but he was not released until March 16 under a deal that compensated the victims’ families, who agreed to accept “blood money” under Islamic tradition. Pakistan’s security agencies came under intense domestic criticism for freeing him.

The agreement, nearly seven weeks after the shootings, ended the dispute that had strained ties between the United States and Pakistan.

I said so many prayers for his release. After what he’s been through bringing it to bad guys, I’ll certainly give him the benefit of the doubt. So LOVE CIA and and their private contractor buddies. They make us all safer and make all jihadis wish they’d found another line of work!

@ jeffyfreezone – No, they don’t. Remember, the CIA was formed by the remnants of Nazis. The CIA helped create, funded, and trained Al Qaeda.

AP has a bad habit of reporting only the parts of a story that make someone they don’t like look bad. I wonder if we can get more of the story from the local paper?

This really isn’t a well-reported story. Something is missing. Why in hell is he getting into a scrap over a parking space?

Short fuse, sort of calls into question whether he was right to shoot the Pakistanis. They probably just looked at him wrong. At least this guy got off with just a punch or two. Maybe he will say he has post traumatic stress disorder.

Foreign diplomats have immunity while in our country, yet American diplomats don’t always have immunity in their countries… Nice double standard… shows how little respect our country, citizens, and government now get around the world.

The only people I get mad at in parking lost are the ones that park in Handicap spots, and they have no sticker hanging in their indow or on their license plate. I will wait for the people to come out and ask them for their Handicap sticker number and embarrass trhe heck out of them. My wife is not real happy with me when I do this, but she’s getting used to it.

@ thepatriotdave – Thank you for doing that. It’s hard enough for us disabled vets to get anything anymore with the way the VA is operating things. Keep it up. And thank you again.

Of course he is going to have issues, the pakistani‘s aren’t exactly hospitable to their “inmates”. Was it a set up? Why isn’t the other guys story being posted? What started the altercation? These are vital questions needed to be answered in order to form a factual “opinion”!!

It’s possible the guy thinks he can do whatever the hell he wants to do. Those contractors were given pretty much a free ticket over there.

Not everything is more than it seems.

The guy may be dealing with some mental crap after all he went through, so he may need some counseling type help. The parking lot altercation could also have been a Pakistani or sympathizer who started something. But, it is not necessarily CIA business going down in a parking lot.

Soldiers suffer post traumatic stress you don;t think that a CIA field officer or contractor would?

As other people pointed out was it a set-up?

Did the other guy start it & just end up on the losing side?
