Funny? TSA Tweets About Airport Security

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has its own Twitter account which it uses to send out positive messages about airport security and, more specifically, to rebuff recent criticisms over its new more invasive security screening procedures. In honor of Thanksgiving, the TSA even attempted to be funny:

I was browsing through my son’s book about Word War 2. I saw a photo of a B52 bomber gets its wing blown off while in flight. I was almost teary eyed to see something like be destroyed.

But the point is, that photo is symbolic. I mean people died in wars, gotten really messed up mentally & physically, so that we can walk to an airport and just board a plane without having the state touch you crohch or put you in a machine that exposes you to radiation and take nake pictures of you, and store them on a computer disk.

I guess we have to bear it until early next year-Congress can defund the operations of the machines. Then in 2 years when you Obama is gone, these machines can be melted down to make toilet seat covers.

Good one, TSA. Have a few laughs at the American taxpayers expense. And for all the sheeple that think this is just a little Thanksgiving fun, think again. YOU are, WE are all being set up for a big fall. You can say things will be better come 2012, but I highly doubt we have that long. Have any of you posters on this site seen the movie, Defiance? It came out in 2008 and was based on a true story. Watch it, believe it, and prepare-it could be us in the very near future. Ammo is the new currency!

My 2 cents….lets see, since 9/11 no disruptions other than those from outside the Country. In NY we have the Thanksgiving Day Parade….Hmmmmm, nothing. I have an elderly Jewish friend that I was sitting with watching live on TV on 9/11…he said….this will not happen again. these are dirt people, they live on dirt floors their uneducated < burn your butt boy and woops my cr+p didnt blow. I would not think the Iman would strap a bomb in his religious beliefs. He would though look for someone who would. The outcome from 9/11 is secured cockpit doors….and Heaven help the sucker that gets on a plane with a box cutter and tries to do anything, he'll have bloody hemmoroids for life. But on the other hand, this administration gave the go ahead for the TSA to Unionize and have representation….oh and a lot higher pay, I would think. Another Government 65K+ employee's playing with balls at tax payer expense. I do believe that all passengers should be screened through the "in place" (older) proceedures of metal detection and…..maybe our tax paid intelligence agency's can show just a little inteligence. We can't demand to much you know….they'll go out on stress leave

Someone should screw with the Unions and lobby for collective bargaining rights from within the union.

The point being that, Constitutionally speaking, we are already a collection of individuals who have collectively decided that we want individual liberty and a free market.

So, to have another group of people within a group of people collectively decide they want to be treated as a collective, rather than as individuals, is a violation of an already agreed upon bargain.

As such, if Union members want a different bargain, either go through the process as an individual who may or may not be able to motivate other individuals, to individually cast their votes through the normal election process to change the bargain.

Otherwise, leave our country, because we already have a bargain with each other.

      @ClearWater

You do not find the similarities of youth being used to promote adult issues? Do you think that these young kids realize that they promoting an organization that is actively destroying the 4th amendment in the name of safety. Do you know what SS guards defense was to charges of genocide “I was only doing my job” and if I did not I would have lost my job and been punished. If someone violates your constitutional rights (the bases for our laws) what will stop them from violating a law like say murder to feed there family and keep there job what limit will they go to? The Hitler Youth program was to condition and make the abnormal seem normal. example the Jews are terrorist and we need to thank the SS Guard for making us safe. The kids may feel safe and may even be better off at the cost of others suffering are they able to understand the implications of that safety or are they just being used as tools. Any time a child is used to promote any issue beyond there full understanding they are being used and are a tool and this was the full goal of the Hitler Youth Program condition and make useful tools for the regime. I would love to hear your view on children promoting issues beyond there understanding. To show consistency I would thank our brave solders that fight for the constitution but I would not send my child to do it in a photo opp even they are being used. Just because on that side I agree does not make it right I want o raise my children and pray that they become honorable honest adults not well indoctrinated drones for ether side they will never be leaders if there choices and the understanding of them is not there own.

      @ Me

Sorry it has taken so long to respond to your questions about the Hitler Youth, Thanksgiving you know. So, I don’t know if this will actually come up and you be able to see it, but here is my response.

First of all–the Hitler Youth was a government run organization targeted at youth. As far as I know, and granted I don’t know all of the background to this picture–this picture had nothing to do with the government giving those signs to the little girls. If the TSA gave those signs to the girls…the story would be different. As it stands…we don’t know…and its highly unlikely or someone would have come out with that by this point.

Second–the picture is about family. The girls were thankful for their families’ protection. The Hitler Youth thrived on separating the youth from their parents. If you go back and read accounts of how the parents felt about the HY–very few actually liked it. Often times, a youth‘s involvement in the HY was direct rebellion to their parent’s wishes. Once again….there is no dissolving of the family unit like was found in the HY.

Third, the HY was not dedicated to blindly forcing children into their agenda–notice I said blindly. They actually started within the education system. Granted, it was a very biased and deceptive and false doctrine they taught to the children….but it was dished out to them in a very structured and systematic way in order to build a foundation for the kids. The purpose was not to throw them into the adult world–WW2 did that–but to prepare them for the world they would one day be governing. The different programs were also targeted for the different age groups and gender. It was not a blanket system.

I appreciate your consistency with admitting that you agree with the troops but would not have your children running around supporting them should they not understand what was going on. I would like to point out that that is your opinion. It is your family–and you have every right to train your children however you like. The family those girls belong to have every right to train them the way they want to. If they believe having them hold signs is good for them–it’s their decision….just like it is your decision to keep your children from holding the sign. However, to compare what an individual family believes and has their children doing to that of the Hitler Youth–a government run militant organization–is not a fair comparison.

(Besides, to continue with the argument that children should never take part in something they may or may not understand destroys the fact that children are at different maturity levels. It would mean not allowing the pledge to be recited until they are old enough to understand the full ramifications of it–it would mean not allowing your children to pray until they come into a full understanding of whatever religion you hold to. A parent has the right to teach their children, and a major component of teaching is doing.)

(Also, I agree the TSA is violating our rights as citizens, but that family can freely disagree and should be able to without being compared to the Hitler Youth.)
