GA State Rep Proposes Elimination of Drivers Licenses

Just when you thought you had heard it all. . . A State Representative in Georgia has proposed the elimination of drivers licenses. For everyone. Bobby Franklin is the brains behind the “Right To Travel Act” currently being considered for the State of Georgia.
Representative Franklin explains his reasoning this way;
“Free people have a common law and constitutional right to travel on the roads and highways that are provided by their government for that purpose. Licensing of drivers cannot be required of free people, because taking on the restrictions of a license requires the surrender of an inalienable right.”
Lest you think that Mr. Franklin is proposing this law just to get attention, please think again. His name is on all of the first 21 bills currently before the Georgia State legislature, bills that include ground-breaking ideas like:
Repealing the authority of the governor to issue mandatory vaccination orders.
Requiring the exclusive use of gold and silver as tender in payment of debts by or to the state, as required in the Georgia Constitution.

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 1:27pmActually the guy in Georgia is right. The Constitution of the US says in Article 1 Section 8 and Section 10 that money must be coin and gold and silver. That is the Supreme law of the entire country. It also forbids states for paying for debts with anything other than gold and silver coin.
Report Post »As far as drivers licenses being settled law, that isn’t the case either. Several courts around the country including the Washington State Supreme Court and Courts in other states including Tennessee have ruled that drivers licenses are NOT required to drive personal vehicles. That is because the People already have the right to freely travel under the Right to Liberty in the Constitution. The courts have also said that drivers licenses are only needed for Commercial travel purposes – such as ferrying passengers for pay and the transport of goods. Just more of our own ignorance being told that we have to have drivers licenses to travel in our own personal automobiles.

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 12:25pmThis can a emotional issue, and I feel that pratical ways can be achieved to deal with the issue of drivers licenses.I feel that one’s desire to travel is a Right, under certain conditions, but you are responsible for damages to others.Even in the old testament,if your animal injured someone, then you had to pay damages.then insurance companies began to insure drivers to cover injuries-a biblical concept,in a way.Yet there was a time when drivers did not have licenses, yet could get insurance.a long story. If we used technology in a right, constitutional way,it could help solve this issue, and help society, and the public.Take recently, that out in the desert,a contest was held to see if an inventor could make a vehicle that operated on it’s own, without an driver. Now think of that,if we could in the future,go where we want to without operating it-there would be no need for a driver license. Now I do feel that those that have businesses, should have a license to drive,as it is not for pleasure, private purposes. If all forms of travel are controlled, then are we a free people?Karl marx wrote about the Centralization of all forms of travel.Recently,in NJ there seems to be an effort to that you would have to have a license to use a bicycle.Several years ago, states began effort to pass laws that boaters of a certain age, have to take a safety course, pass it,get a certificate(that can be revoked),then I read about a year ago,in one state that not only boaters of a certain age do so-if I am correct, then ALL boaters of that state pass a course, get a Certificate. It’s incremental.First one form of travel, then all.take the u.s.civil war,for free and slaves to travel,in much of the land, you had to have a pass, which gave you “liberty”to travel, and caught without the pass, you could be arrested, fined or killed.the US Declaration of Independence states that one of our Right are“liberty”.so you have the right to life, and in between life and pursuit of happiness is “liberty”which means to go forth, proceed, and in many pursuits of life in order to pursue our happiness, the ability to travel is necessary,in many instances.I would have much more to say,but will leave it at that.It is a balancing act,I know that sometimes we need laws, yet it is my hope that scientific innovation can be made,to someday do away with the need for drivers licenses for the general public lawfully someday. There is one thing that could be invented that could save many lives in driving right now, that would help states, drivers, but leave it at that.

2. It weighs four hundred and twelve and a half grains. Of one thousand parts, nine hundred are of pure silver and one hundred of alloy. Act of January 18, 1837, ss. 8 & 9, 4 Sharsw. Cont. of Story’s L. U. S. 2523, 4; Wright, R. 162.
3. In all computations at the custom-house, the specie dollar of Sweden and Norway shall be estimated at one hundred and six cents. The specie dollar of Denmark, at one hundred and five cents. Act of May 22, 1846.

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:US_$1_1928_Silver_Certificate.jpg
Notice how this real money doesn’t say “Legal tender”? It could be redeemed for silver and could NOT be issued UNLESS it was backed by silver. Now days it is just paper “federal reserve note” which is “legal” tender and not Constitutionally “lawful” money and your “voluntary” use of it is what makes you liable for paying taxes. You are getting the “benefit” of not “paying” your debt but simply “discharging” them. That means passing the liability along. Go look up UCC 1-308 and then figure out that your signature is your most IMPORTANT asset and yet you give it “unendorsed” everyday. LOL Willingly accept the “benefit” you will be “forced” to pay for it. Is it really worth it?

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 1:41amElimination of driver’s licences? Does that mean kids or dangerous drivers now have a “right” to drive? A license is given to a person the state deems worthy to drive. It is then taken away or suspended when a person abuses that privilege with reckless driving or driving drunk. This implies that no matter your age or how many accidents you cause, you still have a right to drive. Driving is not a right and people who purposely drive recklessly should not be allowed to risk the lives of safe drivers who are just trying to get to where they need to go. Okay, the thing about only paying the state with gold or silver… This man is in La-La Land!

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 2:31amLets look at your response in a logical manner and see if you believe what you believe through superstition.
Do dangerous drivers now drive upon the roads? YES Did drivers license prevent it? NO
If the state “licenses” someone as worthy to “drive” and they have an accident can I sue the state for licensing a “dangerous driver”? NO
It is not a privilege is it one of our unalienable rights. Court says so
“The right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property
thereon, in the ordinary course of life and business, is a common right which he has under the
right to enjoy life and liberty, to acquire and possess property, and to pursue happiness and
safety. It includes the right, in so doing, to use the ordinary and usual conveyances of the day,
and under the existing modes of travel, includes the right to drive a horse drawn carriage or
wagon thereon or to operate an automobile thereon, for the usual and ordinary purpose of life
and business.” Teche Lines vs. Danforth, Miss., 12 S.2d 784; Thompson vs. Smith, supra
I know many people that have had many accidents and still they travel. Is it only ok for people with state certification to have multiple accidents and still travel?
If you “drive” recklessly then you have committed a common law crime of infringing on others rights.
Funny you should say such a thing. Here is a perfect example of WHO has to have a license and why.
“First, it is well established law that the highways of the state are public property, and their
primary and preferred use is for private purposes, and that their use for purposes of gain is
special and extraordinary which, generally at least, the legislature may prohibit or condition as
it sees fit.” Stephenson vs. Rinford, 287 US 251; Pachard vs Banton, 264 US 140, and cases
cited; Frost and F. Trucking Co. vs. Railroad Commission, 271 US 592; Railroad commission
vs. Inter-City Forwarding Co., 57 SW.2d 290; Parlett Cooperative vs. Tidewater Lines, 164 A.

The court just said that People traveling in their daily business are not required to be licensed like “persons” “operating” in “commerce”.
As for gold and silver? Read your states Constitution and I bet you will find the Banking article which allows the states “TODAY” to create state banks and ONLY gold and silver are LAWFUL tender.
1970 4 quarters of silver bought 4 gallons of Gas. Today 4 quarters of silver are worth $18 and buy 6 gallons of gas. Legal tender “federal reserve note” 3 per gallon of gas. Rebut that.

Probably wasting my time & taking up valuable posting space, but maybe there is hope for you and maybe you haven’t heard this yet:
US Constitution, Article 1, Section 2 (prior to amendment 14, section 2): “Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons…”
No race is mentioned anywhere in this clause that you reference. In fact, all “free Persons” irregardless of race would be counted. Three out of five (3/5) of all other persons (slaves) would be counted in the census to proportion taxes & number of representatives in the House. Slave owners in the south would have loved to have all slaves counted for representation and none for taxes. Why would the founders have counted all free blacks in a state and only 3/5 of the slaves? You are so much smarter than the rest of us here, I’m sure you can figure out the answer, if you dare to really look.

Posted on February 3, 2011 at 2:08amHis drivers license bill is absolutely founded in the Constitution. It is my right to liberty. The courts have historically called it, Right to Travel.
“Personal liberty largely consists of the Right of locomotion – to go where and when one
pleases – only so far restrained as the Rights of others may make it necessary for the welfare
of all other citizens. The Right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to
transport his property thereon, by horse-drawn carriage, wagon, or automobile, is not a mere
privilege which may be permitted or prohibited at will, but the common Right which he has
under his Right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Under this Constitutional
guarantee one may, therefore, under normal conditions, travel at his inclination along the
public highways or in public places, and while conducting himself in an orderly and decent
manner, neither interfering with nor disturbing another’s Rights, he will be protected, not only
in his person, but in his safe conduct.” [emphasis added] II Am.Jur. (1st) Constitutional Law,
Sect.329, p.1135
“The Right of the Citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property

The chief enemies of republican freedom are mental sloth, conformity, bigotry, superstition, credulity, monopoly in the market of ideas, and utter, benighted ignorance.

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 4:50amWe’re seeing where your paper currency is getting us. Hyperinflation, debt and the federal reserve. Yeah you can keep that, I’ll keep our Constitution.

wow! Hyperinflation? where????
You’ve been swallowing too much beck koolaid if you believe the hyperinflation boogie-man. Beck simply floats the hyperinflation bull as wants you to buy gold to support his only advertiser (besides the gun merchants) Goldline on The Blaze.
May I ask if this now means you going to pay in gold nuggets because the $ is, as you say, worthless and we have hyperinflation? Im sure your local 7-eleven will appreciate that…
Or maybe go back to barter? Your basement crap for a coke? That would work. Beck says so.
So – see how CRAZY this Beck hyperinflation-sprouting is? He’s no economist, doesnt even have a economics degree, doesnt know any calculus to understand economic theory — and you take financial advice from him?? Wow.
BTW, Im similarly now declaring myself a brain surgeon and I diagnose you as needing some alternative TV viewing lest your brain atrophy from watching Fox.

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 7:42amThe SCOTUS decision that allowed states to license drivers is, I think, an ill-conceived decision of the first modern Progressive Supreme Court of the 20th-Century…the decision came at a time when the Woodrow Wilson influence on government was still strong, even though he had been out of office for several years…it was his SCOTUS appointees who decided that using a motor vehicle on public roads is a privilege, not a right…it was his appointees who gave government the power to regulate the electromagnetic spectrum based on the now obviated ‘scarcity of frequencies’ theory, and it was his appointees who granted the first modern expansions of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.
In all of those cases it was Left ideology, not logical extrapolation of constitutional wording that drove the decisions.
I am convinced (as opposed to merely believing) that honest analysis of the Constitution by the High Court would result in reversal of each of those decisions, with personal movement being restored to its correct place as a basic human right.
As for the gold & silver standard now in the Georgia constitution: a brilliant idea, and it does not mean that people would have to tote around the precious metals because our money is issued through the Federal government via the (dysfunctional) Federal Reserve Bank system…the clause in question simply means that the state government must back its debt (state bonds, etc.) — dollar for dollar — with precious metals; thus elinating a potential tax liability for Georgia citizens.
These are great ideas that with further refinements would make Georgia the leader among states in gaining control of its economy and reducing both the public debt burden and restoring rights stolen from the people by Progressives.

Posted on February 2, 2011 at 9:24amfoolsgold – It shows you don’t shop for your own groceries. This week name brand butter shot up to $10 for 4 sticks, one pound. A loaf of bread is now $3.50, a gallon of milk is $5. I’m not putting my money into gold, I’m putting it into food, which I believe will be more valuable than gold. We’ve been buying 50 pound bags of dried beans, rice, flour, sugar, etc. We’re buying a lot of powdered milk and coffee too. We have built a great smoker and are now working on building an outdoor oven. If like you believe these things can only happen in other nations, not America, what have I lost? I have plenty of food and can cook outdoors in the warm months, without making my house hot and having to run the AC to cool it. Three years ago we put up clothes lines and leave clothes out there until they’re almost dry, then stick them in the dryer for a few minutes so they won’t be crunchy. The last few years we haven’t turned the AC on until well into July. Until that point we use curtains to block the sun and use a whole house fan (attic fan) to keep the air circulating. This winter I’ve closed off about half the house (the parts without plumbing running under them) and don’t heat those rooms. We work hard for our money and aren‘t spending a cent we don’t have to.
Report Post »BTW…I‘m in Georgia and don’t see the point in having a drivers license. Drunks and others that lose their license, they drive anyhow! Nothing stops them. However, I don’t honestly see the state giving up the income they get from drivers licenses.
