Gaddafi Loyalists Holding Reporters Captive at Tripoli Hotel

Gaddafi Loyalists Holding Reporters Hostage at Tripoli HotelAccording to CNN’s Matthew Chance, journalists inside the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli are being held against their will by Gaddafi loyalists who have control of the building. On Tuesday’s Anderson Cooper 360º Chance spoke from inside the hotel where he conveyed that the situation is “grave” and that journalists are “not happy being here anymore.”

Chance stated that he had the occasion to speak with Gaddafi forces as they patrolled the hotel.

“We asked to leave the hotel, we’re not happy being here anymore,” Chance told Anderson Cooper. “We feel that they feel that we’re valuable.”

According to Chance, Gaddafi’s forces claim to be holding the journalists captive for their own protection.

      ok here is it comes……….. wait for it, wait for it…………..almost here, ………..wait,………….. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHUT THE FV(K UP.

      you went to a war zone, where armed flash mobs had guns and you have a microphone and viedo camera. what do you expect dumb-assssses, the people your covering are al-quida, and the people they are fighting are in a dictatorist regime who likes to murder and rule with a iron fist. ( and by the way both sides DON’T LIEK YOUR ASSSSS! THEY DON’T LIKE AMERICANS! ) now your crying about i want to come home, F@#K OFF and die with some honor! you going there to cover this story is the same as some idiot down the road who grabs a rope and hangs himself, you choose your own death. REPORTERS HAVE NO PLACE IN A WAR ZONE! and if they think they do, someone please just shoot them here, cause then effect will be the same. reporter gets shot, everyone knows reporters name, reporter is famous for 1.2 seconds, THE END! reporter goes to war zone, reporter dies by IED, reporter is the new for 1.2 seconds, THE END!

      you and the chick that was beotching about people shooting around her should stand beside each other when they line you up on there version of the firing squad, you will make a good pair.

      yes Tifousa. once again we find your liberal commie kissing butt in a conservative forum trying to posture your self as the only reasoned thinker. get over it. No one really wants these people to die. They stepped in a pile of camel crap and think their feet are too good to stink. Yes, it’s a damn shame they were stupid enough to think either side in this conflict would treat them like anything but a meat shield. But no. you come here to get offended and get a rush off a snippy word or two at a conservative. go to huff po you troll. Grownups and hotheaded republicans talk here not liberal toads in need of some self delivered ego boost because he has a dictionary and a thesaurus to argue nuances.

      very well said v-force, could not of said it better myself. if she would of taken the time to actually read my rant above she would of seen it was tounge and cheek most of it. but as always libs want to spin things into their own view and think we are all violent, kkk, baby killers of some sort. i wish people would actually realize that stupidity is running rampid in this country and i am tired of it, and that goes for libs, conservs, right, left, black, white, and green. COMMON SENSE! lets use some.

      hear is what i mean, would you put your hand in a deep fryer? answer no, why cause you would be burnt. COMMON SENSE! well ask that question to one of thse so called journalist and they would stick their hand in a deep fryer. why, cause their stipid like that.

      so back to the real point of the posting above, journalist are not in war zone for the news, they are there to make names for themsleves and to make money.

      I am going to have to agree – when BBC got on twitter, well I got in their feed they were talking about this yesterday – however, no one was being held hostage – I told them that these people weren’t reporters but government propaganda machines, and that it was a good day to see their maker, and a good day to die. As you can tell, I am devastated about them being held hostage. Hopefully they make their peace.

      @Darkfire
      One, learn to spell and use proper grammar. Two, about your comment on them not liking Americans, Matthew Chance is British. Finally, yes, news should have a place in war. It can usually have a massive political turn in terms of war. Take for example, the Civil War, when photography was first created. Civilians saw first hand the carnage and while it didn’t directly end the war, it swayed public opinion to want the war faster. I do agree reporters shouldn’t be in the direct line of fire, but we do need to know what is going on. Unless of course, you would have the government have full on control of media coming in and out of a war.

    BOO-FREAKIN-HOO. They’re idiots – they are messing with evil people who don’t give a crap that they are American journalists…if anything, that’s the reason they are keeping them! They went to get the story from the front lines with some evil people – who they probably tried to convince that they are on their side – now when the evil turns on them…they don‘t understand what’s happening. I’m sure they thought they were all friends. These people are idiots.

      something stinks to ‘high heaven’ here. We know that the lame stream media is in the bag for our present regime in the USA. Wouldn’t it be the ticket for the USA to invade if American journalists were held hostage? This would give this administration a free card to invade and spend money on this war. Right now, this admin. is claiming that Nato is doing it all and their hands are clean. If they can claim they are going after Americans, it will give them an ‘in’ to join and a reason for why the Senate was not informed and asked for confirmation before committing to this.

      Obama and Hilary were helping Muslim Brotherhood initiate the “Arab Spring” Remember? Hilary was over there…wasn’t she bringing our troops in because Obama was waiting on the UN and after getting the okay from them, sent our boys in to help out, and she “didn’t know who exactly who we were fighting for”…yeah right.. it was for the Muslim Brotherhood..wasn’t it? And of course.. that’s a lliberal/communist/islamic thing right? If you don’t believe me..go here. There are 10 frames. All of this is crucial, but frame 8 is the one that ties this government to theirs.

    Did these forces take control of the hotel these reporters are staying in, or did the reporters walk into the hornets nest and now decide they don’t like it there? If it’s the latter, the US should send a message that we want assurances of their safety, but no personnel should put in harms way for any kind of rescue op.
