Gang of Alleged Cross-Dressing Bandits Arrested After Stealing a Slew of Transvestite Accessories

It’s not uncommon to hear stories about burglaries and the like. That said, a new case in Orlando, Florida, has so many bizarre elements that it may distinguish itself as one of the most entertaining shoplifting stories of the year (i.e. You don’t want to miss this one).
A gang of men wearing wigs and dressed up as woman have allegedly been terrorizing Central Florida. According to the Orlando Sentinel, this rogue group of transvestite bandits has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars in fabric, sequins and accessories from a number of venders in the area.
On Sunday, three suspects were arrested and detained after staff members at Jo-Ann Fabrics recognized them. According to the Sentinel, the store’s workers had previously reported the group three times to Orlando police. The young men now face shoplifting charges for their purported crimes.
Gawker’s Seth Abramovitch thought the entire scenario was more than entertaining. He wrote, “This loathsome act of scrunchie-jacking larceny has produced some of the best eyewitness quotes from any single news story in recent memory.” Then, he picked out a few of the funniest witness quotes. Here are two of them:
“It’s a whole gang of drag queens. They were real upset when the police made them take their wigs off.”
“They’d come in and order yards of fabric at up to $39.99 a yard, stuff it in their man purses and leave without paying. Oh, gosh, they could wipe out a whole section of boas in seconds…”
