Gates: Gadhafi Taking Bodies He’s Killed and Placing Them at Coalition Attack Sites

According to intelligence gathered by the Department of Defense, Gadhafi has ordered his forces to take dead bodies from hospitals and morgues and place them at the sites of coalition attacks–having the dead bodies pose as coalition-inflicted civilian casualties.

Speaking on CBS’s Face the Nation, in an interview that will air today, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said, “We do have a lot of intelligence reporting of Gadhafi taking the bodies of people he‘s killed and putting them at sites that we’ve attacked.” There’s no evidence, Gates said, of civilian casualties caused by coalition forces.

CNN reports:

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi is placing bodies of people his regime has killed at the sites of some missile strikes by the U.S.-led coalition, according to intelligence reports cited by U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

In an interview to be broadcast Sunday on the CBS program “Face the Nation,” Gates said he was unaware of coalition attacks causing civilian casualties.

“The truth of the matter is we have trouble coming up with proof of any civilian casualties that we have been responsible for,” Gates said in the interview conducted Saturday…

Asked how often it has happened, Gates replied: “We have a number of reports of that.”…

A senior defense official told CNN on Sunday that the U.S. military has information gleaned from intelligence sources that Gadhafi has tasked his aides to search morgues and hospitals for dead bodies to be posed as civilian casualties.

      Ah, I wondered how your reply would fit on what Katayno said :)

      But still, I don‘t understand why you’d post something like that. I know a lot of Muslims. All of them are friendly, honorable and fully integrated while still keeping their faith in Islam. They’d probably be very confused if I called them “bad Muslims” because they fit into American society. Why would you post something that would describe them as people incompatible with life in America while millions of them are living in America quite peacefully?

      I see that you said you don’t agree 100% with the chain email you posted, but that would still imply you agree with a significant part of it. My point is that I just cannot see how someone could hold two almost mutually opposed sets of opinions on a group of people.

    Although the munitions used are very accurate and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are placing dead bodies next to where the strikes take place, I find it hard to believe that there have not been any civilian causalities from the air strikes as Gates seems to be saying. Frankly if he is saying that their sources can’t find any instances of civilians being killed by the air strikes then I think that either their sources are so bad that everything they are saying is suspect or that the administration is not being completely honest with us. We don’t target civilians, fine, they are very careful to try to make sure that civilian causalities are kept to a minimum, great, to say that they have always been 100% successful to hit the targets dead on, no mistakes were made, and made, and there have not been any civilian causalities, I find hard to believe.

    As he’s feeding us this idea, Hillary looks like a bobble head doll shaking her her up and down in agreement to everthing he’s saying do you suppose they practiced this act.       Hillary gave a heads up on what POTUS will say Monday in his address to the Nation. Our European Allies get Oil from Libya, therefor they called in IOUs for their partition in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also noticed no conversation on who might replace the present Libyan government. This is turning into a CLUSTER @#$% and have O confidence that the people in Washington have a clue.

      Vice President Joe Biden has a very clear idea of what should happen to a president who orders U.S. military forces to launch an attack on a foreign country without congressional authorization: impeachment.

      With some voices saying President Barack Obama should face impeachment for attacking Moammar Gadhafi’s forces in Libya, a videotape has surfaced from the 2007 campaign trail showing Biden threatening to impeach President George W. Bush if he attacked Iran without the approval of Congress.

      “I have written an extensive legal memorandum with the help of a group of legal scholars who are sort of a stable of people, the best-known constitutional scholars in America, because for 17 years I was chairman of the Judiciary Committee,” Biden said in an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on “Hardball.”

      “I asked them to put together [for] me a draft, which I’m now literally riding between towns editing, that I want to make clear and submit to the United States Senate pointing out the president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran.

      “And I want to make it clear, I want it on the record … if he does, as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and former chair of the Judiciary Committee, I will move to impeach him.”

      He went on to say: “I think the best deterrent is for the president to know, even at the end of his term, we would move and move to follow through with that so his legacy would be marred for all time if he acted in what was clearly, clearly an impeachable offense.

      “In the absence of that, what happens is, and you‘re going to think I’m joking about this — I’m not. If you’re going to impeach George Bush you better impeach Cheney first. Not a joke.”

    The Lib media will run with this all day long if it’s true or not .No follow up required or investigating needed ,anything to cover for their Disgrace in Chief .I don’t really care if there is collateral damage or not .I just know if this was a Republican administration the scrutiny would be heavy and the story would be looked at as a lie first and be treated as such.The collateral damage would be pushed hard by the progressive “journalist” .

    So, under Bush there were 100,000 Iraqi civilian deaths but under Obow there are none; we miraculously haven’t killed a single Libyan civilian?

    Actually, if we just enforced a no-fly zone and didn’t strike ground targets in the first place, civilian casualties wouldn’t be an issue.

      The one thing still troubling me from this is there is a mathmatical branch called chaos theory; in which one small event, when introduced into a linear plan (A to B to C, etc.), can cause changes to happen rapidly and in totally unexpected ways.

      I feel that is what is happening here centered on Libya.

      The two factors I see in it are Al Quada, and the Muslum Brotherhood.

      I wonder what the third one would be? One of his own bodyguards doing him in?

      Once again we see a standard of double talk – reports of this and reports of that without anything of solid and reliable information being found out (i.e. the “TRUTH”).

      While I have no doubts that little rat fink of a lifesucking leech from lawerville called Quaddafi would resort to such matters, the fact still remains we should not be making guesses, what is needed is to have hard, and as reliable FACTS as possible.

      With the administration, who knows anymore what is really going on other than their heads are on a total tail spin faster than a merry-go-round with Al Gore and Biden on board.

      They did it in Iraq and Afghanistan, too. Believe it. In Gaza they had photos of a guy laying in the street dead and the next frame was up walking around. They are smart enough to play to our media and for a long time it worked until we caught them The lamestream media still love it, though.

Obama throws us into another war and now he doesn’t want to claim responsibility for causing deaths? Wake up, O, because that’s what happens when you go to war. A war, which by the way, he entered without anyone’s approval but with his own executive decision. It pains me to think this president is making all kinds of ‘executive orders’ that drastically affect our country while never before holding an executive position in his life. Where is Trump when we need him to say, “You’re fired!”

      I saw it in a article I read. As I stated, I am not %100 in agreement. I work with Muslims, I do GIS work and interact with middle eastern engineers. I have a great relationship with them and showed them this and asked, do you agree? Ali said that it does, in fact apply, but ONLY to a small % of truly HARD LINE rads. I trust him and respect his opinion. He is a true believer and I respect that. One day I saw him capture a spider in his office. He then opened his window and released the spider? He did not know I saw this. Later, I asked him why he did this, he responded, Allah has respect for all life, it is forbidden to harm any creature less self defense. A true Muslim! He and I have had many talks about “the world”. It is interesting to hear his point of view!

      Don’t believe anything they say. There will be civilian deaths by our attacks but we will never know the truth. This is all setting up to bad for Israel because when the dust settles and all of these countries have new gov’t Israel will be there 1st target. and I’m sure that or commander will do nothing to help, he will watch it all unfold into one big ugly war.
