Gay Activists Gear Up for Kiss In Protest Against Chick fil A

ATLANTA (TheBlaze/AP) — Just when you thought the furor surrounding Chick-fil-A over the fast-food chain owners’ opposition to gay marriage was waning, you were wrong. Following a successful “Day of Appreciation” for the restaurant chain on Wednesday, gay rights activists and other supporters of marriage equality planned a retaliatory national “Kiss In” at Chick-fil-A restaurants on Friday.

Participants are encouraged to come to the fast-food chains and kiss a fellow demonstrator of the same sex. One organizer, Carly McGehee of Dallas, said she hopes the event helps gay youths “who feel isolated and are victims of bullying.”

“Without question, Dan Cathy has every right to voice his opinions and beliefs,” Herndon Graddick, president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, said in a statement.

“But he should meet and get to know the people that he’s speaking out against — the people who are harmed by his company’s multi-million dollar donations to anti-gay hate groups working to hurt everyday LGBT Americans and break apart loving families,” Graddick said.

“LGBT” is an abbreviation for “lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.”

A description of the event on its Facebook page reads:

National Same Sex Kiss Day is this Friday, August 3rd at a Chick-fil-A near you! Head to your local Chick-fil-A and share a kiss with your sweetie. Let’s show Chick-fil-A that EVERYONE deserves to be able to fall in love, start a family, and take their children to eat fried chicken after a soccer match. ;)

The gatherings come two days after hundreds of thousands of customers, many of them conservative Christians, recognized “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” at more than 1,600 locations.

The company said in a statement the turnout Wednesday made for “an unprecedented day,” although it says it doesn’t release exact sales numbers.

“The Chick-fil-A culture and 66-year-old service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender,” the statement said.

Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy stirred the controversy when he told a religious publication last month that the company was “guilty as charged” for backing “the biblical definition of a family.”

In a later radio interview, Cathy said: “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, `We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’”

The Southern Baptist Cathy family has long been known for using biblical principles to operate its business, including never opening the company’s stores on Sundays.

    If they’re on Chick-Fil-A property and are not customers, they’re trespassing. Call the cops.
    If they harass any customer or would-be customer (someone trying to get in), call the cops.
    If they so loud as to disturb the peace. Call the cops.
    If they engage in lewd behavior / start stripping, call the cops.
    If they’re on public property and are not harassing any customers, then leave ‘em alone.

      Plus their goal is to be trolls and to do something they know the owner of the property is against. We didn’t go onto homosexuals property holding up pro family signs, we simply went and supported a restaurant that is owned by people who share our views.

    If you’re a “transgender”, . . . how do you work out the “same sex kiss” thing? :-/

    My take on “transgenders”. . . . if your DNA says you’re a male, . . . no matter how much you surgically do to your body, you’re still a male . . . who’s just [now] in denial.

    Here’s the thing on this topic. One man made a statement. He happens to own a restaurant. With the numbers of people who are coming to his locations, however, . . . seems like it was a GREAT marketing plan, . . . but I digress. But as for this “same sex kiss” thing, . . . they are taking their “freedom TO have whatever sexual orientation they want” and up-ing it [and flaunting it in the face of others] for no reason OTHER THAN to be “in your face” about it. That’s the difference. One guy just made a statement. Anyone who shows up and acts TOTALLY out of the norm [because you don't see heterosexual couples making out at a food joint] and into the extreme. Sorry, but that just isn’t right. . . . . . AND, is really very childish.

      Solution is simple,
      Chick-fil-A lawyers should check out what the local laws are concerning the public displays of affection. If any of these Heterophobic hatemongers violate any local laws, while in the restaurant, Prosecute them. Ad charges of trespassing & disrupting the peace.

      Not everyone enjoys anything. It’s still a choice! It is genetically impossible for there to be a “gay gene” as gays do not generally reproduce. So the gene would die off in a couple of generations. The same way if all but a few members of a race stopped reproducing, the race would eventually die off. The only way there could be a “gay gene” is if it were a spontaneous birth defect or genetic mutation (think downsyndrome), in which case it would be easy to identify as a genetic deviation from the parental genetic markers. It is genetically impossible for generations of white people to suddenly give birth to a black child. The same would be true that generations of straight people could not spontaneously give birth to a gay child (if it was genetic and you were born that way). It is basic science. The gay gene is not only a myth, it is a scientific impossibility.

      I just went there to see if anyone showed up. No protestors at this Chick-Fil-A. Had to wait over an hour for the meal on August 1 and the people that saw the line and decided they weren’t going to wait in line were honking and cheering, “We support Chick-Fil-A!”
      Our Occupy Wall Street was a joke too. 23 protestors in all, all college age kids and a couple of 60′s hippies camped around the city for about a month or so yelling at cars as they passed by. To us, they were comical. 23 dirty people yelling at passing cars? LOL
      Looks like Romney has an easy win in this city.

      @mtcountrygrl, I fail to see how taking the position that someone chooses to be gay is logical. If it is a choice then how do you explain homosexual behavior in nature? Many animals display this behavior and surely do not have the cognitive ability to make a choice in the matter. Furthermore, I have never felt a sexual desire for the same sex ( I would guess you never have). If it is a choice, shouldn’t everyone have this temptation? And if you have not had the desire to be with a person of the same sex then how can you possibly come to the conclusion that is a choice?

      What have “ant-bullying” laws produced in Massachusetts?

      GLSEN’s “No Name Calling Day” will be mandatory throughout Massachusetts. This is part of GLSEN’s national “No Name Calling Week”, which they started in 2003 as a method of intimidating middle school kids who use the word “gay” in a negative way. GLSEN is all ready to go with their school programs to enforce this and even has a separate website for it.

      Huge “bullying prevention and intervention” plan required for every school or school district — another GLSEN idea. There’s a long list of requirements for the plan, which must be updated every two years and strictly adhered to.

      Mandatory reporting by ALL school staff — of any known or suspected bullying or retaliation incidents. This covers most employees, including but not limited to “an educator, administrator, school nurse, cafeteria worker, custodian, bus driver and paraprofessional” — another GLSEN idea. (Will this cause overreaction?)

      Private schools and parochial schools are included. GLSEN’s literature encourages this. Technically, some schools with no ties to the state could be exempted, but that appears to be very difficult.

      Every grade must teach an anti-bullying curriculum. Another GLSEN idea. That‘s because GLSEN’s people are prepared to provide this at no cost to the schools. The law encourages schools to seek such no-cost solutions.

GLSEN is already prepared to provide this for free or at little cost.       Fines and jail time for kids — who make crank or harassing phone calls, emails, web pages, videos, and other undefined “annoying” acts. We understand that’s often a big problem. But this approach has come under heavy criticism across the political spectrum.

      Encourages schools to set up special diversity training based on a person’s membership in a legally protected category (i.e., sexual orientation). [NOTE: also gender identity or expression -- not yet a legal category; that's what the trans bill is all about!!] This is a major GLSEN goal.

      Includes illegal immigrants as a new protected class (” . . . shall afford all students the same protection regardless of their status under the law.”) We’re not sure where this language came from. Will it lead to incorporating illegal immigrants into other parts of the law as a protected class?

      What is a “kiss-in” REALLY?

      kiss-ins” are a very common tactic within the homosexual community. The idea is to walk into a business where two homosexuals will then engage one another in a “make-out” session provoking the owner. When the owner tells them to leave, they do so but not without consequence. The homosexual will then engage in a PR campaign to destroy the owner accusing them of being a company that promotes “intolerance”. By doing this they hope to ruin his/her business.

      It‘s the next generation of what’s called “jamming” – a term popularized in the homosexual movement’s major strategy book “After the Ball: How America will conquer its fear and hatred of gays in the 90s” — meaning to push homosexuality into the faces of people as hard and as often as possible. It‘s a psychological tactic to break down the public’s natural revulsion and rejection of it over time. And it’s working.

      In Massachusetts the Massachusetts Commission against Discrimination (MCAD) is a “politically-correct tribunal that enforces the state’s anti-discrimination laws on businesses, organizations, and individuals. It has the legal authority to investigate, subpoena, hold hearings, and impose fines and punishments, but without usual court procedures. MCAD has a troubling history of severely punishing businesses which react adversely to staged situations on their premises by activists meant to provoke them, such as homosexual “kiss-ins” in restaurants.

      What Mtcountrygirl is trying to tell you is that there is no empirical evidence that homosexuality is genetic. Believe me, this has been studied for YEARS by people who WANT to find it. That only leaves two possibilities: it is a choice or it is a mental disorder (components of which could indeed by genetic). Homosexuality was once classified in the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders as a mental illness, but was removed circa 1994(?) primarily due to political pressure and the social climate, not research supported arguments that negated it being a mental disorder. For those who have made the choice to be homosexual, it is a complex and complicated process that could be years in the making. It is not the same as choosing bacon over sausage at breakfast. Many homosexuals may not even be fully aware or conscious of all the elements in their process of choosing. The same could be said for the certain behaviors associated with homosexual behavior that many adopt (speech characteristics, mannerisms).

      By the way, animals do not have any capacity for moral judgment/competency. They act solely on urge and instinct. That’s what separates humans from animals. Some dogs enjoy humping human legs. Dogs will also eat their own vomit, as well as their poop. Some animals even eat their own offspring…. not exactly good models for our behavior.

      Just because someone never desires to do something does not negate the fact that its still a decision and thus a choice. I have never had the desire to kill myself and yet it is still my choice whether or not to drive my car off a cliff. Additionally, you also must consider that it is the act of homosexuality that makes a person a homosexual. If all of a sudden you find that you are turned on by the same sex, it is still your decsion whether or not to act on it. It is called self control.

      The Chick-fil-A employees should not have to clean up after these evil, filthy, (in my opinion) possibly AIDS and/or Hepatitis infested dirt bags.

      Well I don’t know but he might contact the US Embassies that apparently ALL hosted a “Gay Pride Party” in June of this year. The US Embassy in Kenya hosted a “Gay Pride Party” which the American taxpayers PAID FOR. (See Voice of America for article on its mini coverage of this event). This article states that the purpose of the Gay Pride Parties was to ‘further the Obama support of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender”

      A pastor in Kenya was on the Internet radio on Thursday and stated that the US Embassy hosted Gay Pride party cost $12 MILLION . He claimed that the US Ambassador to Kenya refused to attend the party and was ‘invited / asked ‘ to resign. (Have not been able to find a second source yet to confirm or deny these two claims. BUT I did confirm that his claim of the parties was truthful.)

      AND how many of YOU knew that American taxpayers funded worldwide Gay Pride parties at American Embassies?

    The LGBT crowd should invest in a PR firm because the way they go about trying to let the rest of the world know how “normal” it is to be one of them is backfiring badly. Whoever decided that an in-your-face approach to acceptance was a good plan is doing them no favors.

    If they want to stay marginalized and looked upon as deviants just keep on doing this kind of thing and they’ll get their wish. They continue to reinforce the negative opinions of their opposition and seem too self-absorbed to notice.

    Will having passing motorists shout insults at the same sex demonstrators kissing make the gay youths feel “less isolated”? Only if consolidating the us vs them mindset is what they’re really after.

      Not so for the LBGT crowd. Many more voters are going to remember this fiasco. Not agreeing to the “new” Obama stance on GAY MARRIAGE is going to get pushback. And the pushback will be ALL ABOUT AMERICANS RIGHTS TO THEIR OWN BELIEFS AND THEIR RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEM!

      Why are you people so crazy, if someone wants to get married, gay or otherwise, it will have NO effect on my marriage or yours. As for the Bible, if it says being gay is a sin so be it. Let them answer to God. Not to you. If we lived in an intolerant society, like Iran for example, then the government could tell these folks how to live. In an assault on religious principle you attack one of the most sacred institutions. Get it? We are not allowing the meaning of marriage to be changed. Civil union is available, but not acceptable. Try your best to stand up for traditions and institutions which make this country exceptional, we are.

      @slaptheleft, Christians didn’t invent marriage nor do they own it. If your church doenst want to marry homosexuals then I support your choice. However, if a church does want to perform a gay marriage I don’t see how you can logically be against their choice. If you really want all of our laws relating to marriage to be based on your version of Christianity then you might as well say only Christians can get married…silly.

    American business owners enjoy freedom of speech. The LGBT community’s efforts to pressure them to change their views or to penalize them for having those views is not only wrong, it’s anti-American. You don’t see the owners of Chick-Fil-A harassing all the gay bars across the country. The LGBT community is being intolerant, which makes them a bunch of hypocrites.

      Conservative BeckHater It may well happen that we discover a gene or series of genes that effect sexual preference. We might also find genes that effect sensitivity to substance abuse and obesity. But ultimately our behaviors are our choices. My personal views on homosexuality are irrelevant really, as I’m on one person with an opinion like everyone else in the country. Equal rights can only be achieved by taking the government OUT of the marriage business altogether. That is where everyone should concentrate their efforts.

      Advances the field of genetics have revealed a lot of surprising things about human beings and why they are the way they are. Sexual preference – what makes a person feel sexually stimulated – most likely will be attributed to genetics. God on the other hand, will never be proven to exist, nor will leprachauns, unicorns, and other imaginery creatures. That’s a fact.
