Gay Rights Activists Launch Glitter ‘Attack’ From Ski Lift

Gay rights activists are continuing to “glitterize” their opponents. The Blaze has covered these assaults in sequence. So far, we’ve seen glitter dumped on Newt GingrichTim Pawlenty, Michele Bachmann, and in the waiting room at the Bachmann & Associates clinic. Now, a new attack involves some creatively unconventional antics.

The story can be summarized as follows: At the Minnesota State Fair, LGBT equality activists took to a ski lift to drop glitter on the Minnesota For Marriage booth. But the devil is, of course, in the details. Apparently, this wasn’t a random attack. Aside from their disagreement over issues pertaining to marriage equality, the activists had another bone to pick.

According to ThinkProgress, the glitter attack was launched after the fair purportedly gave the anti-gay marriage group last-minute booth space. But Minnesotans United for All Families (a pro-gay marriage group) was allegedly not afforded a spot at the fair.

So, activists hopped on the ski lift, traveled over the anti-gay marriage advocates and spilled glitter on them, while shouting “Equality for all!“ and ”Where’s our booth?”

Watch the entire incident unfold, below:

if anyone is confronted by a gay rights group ask them this….

What rights under the U.S. constitution do I get that a gay or lesbian does not?????? wait a minute and see what they say.

The answer is NONE we all have the same constitutional rights.

Now I get a few more tax breaks under the marriage law, they the gay and *****’s can lobby congress to change the law to include civil unions in thows tax breaks.

What the gay and ***** agenda is about is pushing their values on mainstream america so they are excepted.

One problem we don’t want their values.

This is an example of what happens when government overreaches. Once upon a time, some bureaucrat thought that licensing marriage would make some quick money for the state. This unfortunate choice makes the state responsible for the definition of marriage instead of the moral perspective of it’s people. As soon as the government tries to legislate morality, rather than property, it’s only a matter of time before there is trouble. With all the pandering to special interests going in the current administration, there has been a tremendous surge in activism to create legislation to support specific moral perspectives; legislation that has no place in a constitutional republic as it has no choice but to be prejudicial. For this issue it seems clear that the state should only be capable of licensing civil unions, and that the debate over marriage should be left to the People and their chosen religions.

I think you answered your own question. What does a heterosexual couple get that a homosexual doesn’t? Tax breaks are one correct, but really there are many more since Civil Unions are only recognized at the state level. Here are some you forgot…

Social Security benefits upon death, disability or retirement of spouse, as well as benefits for minor children.

Family and Medical Leave protections to care for a new child or a sick or injured family member

Workers’ Compensation protections for the family of a worker injured on the job

Access to COBRA insurance benefits so the family doesn’t lose health insurance when one spouse is laid off

ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) protections such as the ability to leave a pension, other than Social Security, to your spouse

Exemptions from penalties on IRA and pension rollovers

Exemptions from estate taxes when a spouse dies

Exemptions from federal income taxes on spouse’s health insurance

The right to visit a sick or injured loved one, have a say in life and death matters during hospitalization.

Dolphins and Penguins both mate for life and they have been known to form same sex couples.

Also, the Gay Rights movement focuses around Social Acceptance. Soo if you can correct the marriage laws and make it so two members of the same sex are viewed equally in the eyes of the law then it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

I can’t believe the camera stopped just when the angry gay rights dude confronted the traditional marriage booth personnel. That looked to be much more interesting than the stupid glitter drop, which they have every right to do. That said, these protestors should be held to the absolute letter of any and all laws they violate (littering, etc.) so that they won’t do this unless they are truly committed. IMO it is a really dumb way to protest, and it does nothing to advance their cause.

Homosexuality is nothing new, been around for a long time, and has been a contributing factor in the destruction of many a nation in the past. Greece, Rome, Persia, Babylon….. they tried it, and all crumbled very soon afterwards. It is a wicked lifestyle.

talk to any cop that works in any mid to large city, and ask them who the worst groupd to deal with when it comes to a domestic dispute. Gays and Lesbians are the worst and most violent. Check the Center for disease control, and see statistics for gays. Just the act of gay sex is destructive, leading to gay bowel syndrome, not to count the absolutely through the roof STDs. Gay males tote 70% and higher of new AIDS cases in the U.S. They molest children at a much higher rate than heterosexuals, and they assault each other at a much higher rate. Gays change partners at an alarming high rate,

There is nothing Gay about being gay (they destroyed the word).

Sodimites destroy nations. the family is the most basic unit of governance and education. Homosexuality is an attack on the family.

You can have your own opinion, but not your own truth.

Rights don’t belong to GROUPS. They belong to INDIVIDUALS. Tax breaks and visitation rights are not civil rights. They are privileges that the State bestows fro its own purposes. After meeting every individual’s CIVIL rights the state is not obligated to grant the same privileges to every group that an individual may belong to.

      Dear Scott Baker,

I posted a reply today about this subject of gay rights doing what Glenn Beck asks of us….“Speak Your Mind” but apparently somebody has a “hair trigger” on the delete button.

In response I wrote a reply that said ….

HETEROSEXUALITY IS ULTIMATELY ALL ABOUT THE PRESERVATION OF THE HUMAN SPECIES.

HOMOSEXUALITY IS ULTIMATELY ALL ABOUT THE DEVASTATION OF THE HUMAN SPECIES.

Then I went on to say (in reaction to what someone else had said) that heterosexuals deserve tax breaks while homosexuals do not because homosexuals to not preserve the human species.

Again…..I’m speaking my mind just like all the others. And I strongly believe I am not being rude or offensive. Yet my comments have been removed! I say “comments” because this is not the first time that my comment (similar to the one today, but not exact) has been removed by this Glenn Beck

Wow. This is certainly not what I thought I’d be addressing in this story, but the reaction this lil’ piece of video is engendering is bordering on psychosis.
So your response is the Peter King approach? At some point, some homophile may use some object to do something to someone that is an actual deadly assault. Best to step on the rights of all and assume the worst… that way I can justify whatever limitation of rights I propose… all for protecting humanity in general, of course (and revealing what a knee-jerk coward I am).
If this type of nonsense provokes an individual to violence, I believe that person shouldn’t be allowed to roam in polite society to begin with.
You, me and even the state do not have cause to respond to a relatively harmless display with pugilistic furor.
Get a grip. You’re putting forth a self-fulfilling prophecy that amounts to a ticket to be a violent arse. Making a mountain out of a mole hole is no defense for what appears to be a desire to see actual thuggery. The potential to catch the wrong hair-trigger idiot (on either side of this or any other issue) always exists. That doesn’t mean you get to shut down debate with apocalyptic “What it!?!” scenarios.

Nope. You don’t get to legally beat the hell out of someone just because your dander is up (& you don‘t like ’queers’). You can posture & strut that you were “assaulted”, but your right to self-defense ends when the alleged assault ends. You do not have a right to respond to pranks with deadly force. There is no “reciprocity” clause when it comes to self-defense.
What you’re doing is walking right into the hate crime trap. You’re giving some of these folks EXACTLY what they want: Unreasonable responses that lead bystanders or otherwise neutral parties to be sympathetic to a cause they might normally shrug their shoulders at & ignore.

Actually, I may consider your church if you make it by my dog, ’cause you gotta be walking with God.
Get some perspective. Treat others the way you wanna be treated and understand you don’t get to be judge, jury and executioner when you get pranked. The responses being shamelessly offered here would make many a totalitarian proud. Ham-fisted calls for violence in a debate is as un-American as any expectation to legislate thru the courts. Yeah, it’s only glitter. It’s probably pretty harmless. But they have no business assaulting people with it either way. The bottom line is this: it‘s clearly a States’ rights issue. The Constitution says nothing about it, and according to the 10th Amendment, it therefore falls to the States or to the People. New York voted to allow Gay Marriage. California voted not to (Hear that, California courts?). Minnesota has yet to decide the issue. Dumping glitter on people is not a good way to endear yourself to your prospective supporters. It’s invasive, unwanted, and obtuse. I fully support GLBT rights, but this is not the way to go about getting them.

Of course Religion is involved! Many religions do NOT condone HOMOSEXUALITY. No one with GLITTER is going to change that! To me, this action is just another high school type “prank” like the “egging” of Sarah Palin’s bus. These idiots need to GROW UP.

Ummmm, can someone clue me in as to why a Tea Party group would be throwing anything at blacks, muslims or gays? I mean, progressives I can understand throwing glitter at because the two groups are idologically opposed. However, the Tea Party is NOT a racist group, is NOT anti-muslim and is NOT an anti-gay organization.

@EqualJustice: Nice try trying to paint the Tea Party as racist, anti-muslim, anti-gay hate mongers but I’m afraid I have to call you out on this one.

The smile on the face of the woman in pink says it all. These people are not intrested in rational debate and don’t care about respecting the rights of others. Rather they revel in imposing their agenda on everyone, demonizing those who have a moral objection to their “lifestyle” and smiling smugly knowing full well they have the backing of the main stream media. This type of “social action” were it used by anti-abortion advocates would be ridiculed as terrorsit tactics, but in instances like these they are simply gay rights activists. Both they, and their actions disgust me, unfortunately for them this type of behavior is a source of pride. But then again, we have all seen before what “gay pride” is.

I hate to feed into their own self stereotyping but why do they have to act so gay when striving for rights. Assaulting people with glitter is gay, it is so gay it should make people happy. Glitter is happy lol. I say we go find the people who by law make it illegal to say the pledge of allegiance in school and throw fake blood on all of them wherever they are. And I want to go find Laraza leaders who hate white people and hate America and go throw salsa and picante sauce all over them at their place of work or home and I am half Perez. How about throwing fake blood on mrs obama for saying she has never been proud of America “her country” until her selfish husband got elected. I want to throw buckets of urine on Soros for attempting to destroy America from within. Lets do it lets attack them like they attack others. Lets see what they say. I could think of a thousand more. Make me!

No one is “born this way.” This demonstration is simply part of the disorder that is Gender Identity Disorder. Part Oppositional Defiance Disorder, part Borderline Personality Disorder, it’s a disease, a lifestyle choice, maybe a genetically-selected self-destructive syndrome like Lesch-Nyhan. But throwing glitter at or on people (ever choke on glitter? Gotten a piece in your eye?) is assault, and an escalation that can’t be accepted without retaliation. I say we throw copies of Paul’s letter to Romans at them.

Come on… I’ll take this brand of stupid over militancy any day. You really want an authoritarian boot on the neck of ALL of us that soundly and readily? Careful what you wish for…. Just remember, whatever call to repress or punish you ask the govt. to do to these (at best) distractions, you damn well better be ready to have imposed on you. Throwing glitter on someone could only be considered dangerous in the most unreasonable (and litigious) mind. Hell, I don‘t know if they’re intending to be self-deprecating, but I find homophiles throwing glitter oddly appropriate. Not sure they should be pummeled or shot for this… doesn’t seem to be the free and open society most of us claim to want. The fist time one slings a sex toy or body fluid, have at them. Until then, get a grip and understand that these people have a right to free speech. I’m sure some busybody somewhere is well on his/her way to addressing the glitterizing action… and will end up looking like a thin-skinned wuss. Don’t be that guy/gal. In the grand scheme of stupid pranks, this rates below the bag of burning crap on one’s porch.

All those people throwing glitter were photographed. If anyone suffered an eye injury, find a good lawyer and start legal proceedings for assault and battery. Could result in a nice monetary settlement, if not some time served in a nice jail cell.

Not only eye injuries….but depending on which glitter factory in China that this glitter came from…possible lead contamination. There are several Federal agencies that need to be brought in on this NOW (EPA, FDA, FCC, DOJ, ATF, IRS, USPS, ACORN, SEIU, AFL-CIO, IBEW, GE to name just a few). Bringing in Federal assistance now to help stem the tide of these glitter ambushes will delay the inevitable wave of party favor human wave assaults. Heaven help us when these begin to occur. Pray that this doesn‘t happen in your back yard cause it’s a pain to clean up glitter.
