Today, the military’s 17-year-old “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy expires. The debate leading up to this day has been intense. Needless to say, the decision has been made and the ability to serve openly is now officially on the table.
With experts weighing on on whether or not the policy’s expiration will have a radical change on life in the military and with the public continuing to discuss and debate the issues surrounding it, some intriguing stories are beginning to emerge. Soldiers who have thus far served without discussing their sexuality — some of them while engaging in gay rights activism — are now coming forward.
First, there’s the story of Randy Phillips, a soldier who has taken to social media with the alias “AreYouSurprised.” While he initially made public statements and videos about his sexuality without providing his identity, has now made his face known. Gawker has more:
To celebrate the end of the military’s ban against openly gay servicemembers, a gay soldier stationed in Germany decided to come out to his family and the world in the most public way possible: by recording a video and posting it on the internet.
Watch his surprising announcement, below:
Then, there’s “J.D. Smith,” a secretive name that was created when a gay student group in upstate New York needed a speaker to talk about the U.S. military’s ban on openly gay troops. In the 16 months since then, “J.D.” advised the Pentagon on the policy, became an oft-quoted media commentator on the topic and was a White House guest when President Barack Obama signed the bill paving the way for the ban’s appeal.
But as the government’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy goes away, so does J.D. Smith, the name a 25-year-old Air Force officer assumed to shield his identity as he engaged in high-wire activism that could have crashed down on his career. Even if no one asks, Air Force First Lt. Joshua David Seefried is telling.
“It’s all about leading now,” Seefried told The Associated Press as he prepared to come out to his superiors, put a picture of his Air Force pilot boyfriend on his office desk and update his personal Facebook profile to reflect his sexual orientation. “Those are things I feel like I should do because I guess that is what a leader would do. If we all stay in the closet and don’t act brave, then the next generation won’t have any progress.”
Regardless of where one stands on “don’t ask, don’t tell” and gay marriage in general, these stories are intriguing. Of course, these are only two examples. As the days go on, others will likely make their announcements in unique ways as well.
Tell us what you think of the expiration of this government policy in the comments section below.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 6:34pmGays shouldn‘t be allowed in the military for the same reason they shouldn’t be allowed in the boy scouts: They’re looking for male partners, because they’re attracted to males. And in the case of scoutmasters and priests, they want those positions because it offers them an opportunity to sexually take advantage of people either too young to protect themselves or those intimidated by religious authority.
The politically correct dictates now demand no one can oppose homosexuality simply because they’re disgusted by it, a feeling instilled in every normal human being. The social perverters demean them as haters. And if opposition to homosexuality is based on religion, then the religion itself is lambasted as hateful and evil. Well, I’m sorry to tell the powers that be, but human nature instills in every one of us an instinctive revulsion towards sexual acts with those of the same gender. It has nothing to do with religion. Those who don’t feel the same way are mentally ill and are in need of psychiatric attention.
And if the hare-brained higher-ups are going to allow gays and normal men to live, work, shower together and sleep in the same rooms, then why don’t they do the same for normal men and women? There’s no difference.

Gay men commit a disproportionate share of sexual crimes against children.
Lesbians are more than twice as likely to have STDs as heterosexual women
Domestic abuse occurs in approximately 30 to 40% of GLBT relationships
Today is day one of DADT ending, and they are already holloring for more rights. They want post housing, recognized marriage, and more. They will get it, and next on the agenda will to be loweing the age of consent.
Gaining access to children has been a long-term goal of the homosexual movement. In 1972, the National Coalition of Gay Organizations adopted a ‘Gay Rights Platform” that included the following demand: “Repeal of all laws governing the age of sexual consent.” David Thorstad, a spokesman for the homosexual rights movement and NAMBLA, clearly states the objectives: ‘The ultimate goal of the gay liberation movement is the achievement of sexual freedom for all – not just equal rights for ‘lesbians and gay men, but also freedom of sexual expression for young people and children.” This goal has not changed since it was articulated in 1972.

The Uniform Code of Military Justice USED to forbid ALL sodomy (not just same sex sodomy) whether forcible or consensual. A wife could say to her serviceman husband “I would do that with you, but we both know that it would violate the UCMJ” Not anymore. Her dignity is not of any worth to the progressives.

Posted on September 21, 2011 at 7:20pmFor all of you who are writing that being gay is against “human nature”, let me ask you one simple question. When did you *choose* to be heterosexual?
Now think about the question. Really think about it. I‘m betting you didn’t make a choice at all, but that you just simply realized that you like women. Or if you’re a woman, that you like men.

He certainly has the right to ask her for that, but he damn well better be ready to hear No and live with it. Or she could say, bend over and let me give you this ***** first, and then ask me again if I’ll do that for you.
It has nothing to do with raping the dignity of women. It has everything to do with the dignity of the gays in our military who serve the same way as heterosexuals.

Posted on September 21, 2011 at 9:50pm@Robert – Let me address your points:
1. I think you are just a tiny bit confused about the difference between pedophiles and homosexuals. Homosexuals are attracted to other ADULTS of the same sex. Pedophiles are child molesters who are attracted to children of either sex. Most of the Catholic Priests who molested young girls and boys were pedophiles, NOT homosexuals. Most had no interest in having sexual relations with adults of the same sex. The incidence of pedophilia is no greater in the homosexual population than in the heterosexual population.
2. You have a right to be disgusted by whatever you like. And I‘m sure I’d be disgusted if I had to hear details of your sex life. That’s why sex should be a private thing between consenting adults. Human sexual behavior covers a very broad spectrum of straight, bi, or gay. Given the difficulties in our society of being gay, do you really think anyone would “choose” to be gay? When did you “choose” to be straight?
3. I hate to tell you, but if you have attended public school, or college, or been a on an athletic team, or been a member of a health club, odds are you have already showered with many gay men. Somehow it went without incident, or you’d already be aware of it. And odds are, you also work with someone who is gay, maybe even your boss, but I’m sure you are too blind to see it. Somehow your company survives.
4. I‘m so glad you are not the soldier’s father in the video. You don’t deserve a son as

Report Post »You misundersood my point. The issue is not rape, but that a serviceman’s wife no longer has “the law” on her side as regards “consensual” sodomy (and that includes oral sodomy). If you think that sodomy (of any sort and concerning any combo of genders) is consistent with “dignity” in any way, then I pity you. Sorry, but it is destructive of body, mind and spirit. Gratefully, I can’t speak from experience, but I believe that my Father in Heaven has proscribed sodomy because he loves his children — you included.

“1. I think you are just a tiny bit confused about the difference between pedophiles and homosexuals. Homosexuals are attracted to other ADULTS of the same sex .”
A homosexual is anyone who is sexually attracted to the same sex. Trying to pretend as if Priests who sodomize innocent boys are of another mental abberration is ignorant. They desire males but prefer boys, especially since they are easier to manipulate than adults.
“2. You have a right to be disgusted by whatever you like. And I‘m sure I’d be disgusted if I had to hear details of your sex life.”
It has nothing to do with the details of someone’s sex life. It is a natural revulsion normal people feel towards those who might come on to them. I’m someone who has experienced unwanted advances too often where the only thing that will dissuade them is a threat to knock their teeth out. I don’t want to be around those types and have to threaten force to repel them.
“3. I hate to tell you, but if you have attended public school, or college, or been on an athletic team, or been a member of a health club, odds are you have already showered with many gay men.”
Normal men are turned on by nude women. Gays are turned on by nude men. Once the threat of discharge is lifted there’s going to be unwanted advances towards normal men. Do they not have a right to be free of that, as normal women do of normal men? Or are we just fodder for the elitist cannon to be used when necessary?

Posted on September 22, 2011 at 8:29am@RangerP is correct about what goes on in Afghanistan. Although muslims consider homosexuality a sin & kills gays – that is only for 2 consenting adults. As RangerP said, the Afghans consider women to be very dirty & unclean, & it is common for them to take on “dancing boys” as young as 5 (sometimes dressing them in girls’ clothes & makeup). These boys are purchased or kidnapped, & discarded/replaced in their early teens. Homosexuality is reported to be rampant out in the villages, but it actually seems more like pedophila. This is an accepted practice among Afghan men although more prominent citizens maintain their ‘boys’ more discreetly.

“…. Thank you for serving our country and our cause!”
I get why this was so touching & meant so much to you. Everyone deserves a good dad like this. But why would he record & post it on You Tube? This was between him & his Dad or family. Not a public moment for strangers.
And he’s in the military, it’s not about him. He’s doing a very serious job. I just don’t understand his need for publicity.
And he had no reason to wait for the official end of DADT to tell his Dad. I think it’s very fishy to be honest.
Separately, I do understand the desire for acceptance, especially by your family who should love your for the person you are. And I do feel a lot of empathy for that.
But why did you write “Thank you for serving our country & our cause!” ?? See that’s the point right there. What cause? The Gay Rights cause? This guy is serving his country in the military. That has got to be his #1 focus. Not promoting or worrying about any agenda, or cause.
That’s the crux of the complaints here. You can’t put your personal life & causes in front of your job in the military. If you can’t muster that level of focus & commitment, you shouldn’t be there. Gay or straight.

Posted on September 22, 2011 at 10:21amYou know, maybe he posted it on youtube as an example for other gay people??? Maybe he put it up there as evidence for other gays that comming out to your father isnt the life ending event that MOST gay kids think it is. Maybe it is to help give others the courage to have an honost conversation with thier family and let them know that they wont be osteracised and thrown out of the family for being gay. Just like most of the blazers have a sterotype of gay people, gay kids have sterotypes of how thier parents will react. Maybe this video shows them that the sterotype isnt always true. People arent gay just to upset thier parents or flaunt some left wing ideology. I knew I was different went I was real young, long time before I knew of politics or what the left and the right ment. The hardest day of my life was telling my parents when I was 14 and it didnt turn out well. That was also in 1974. I totally understand the fear that this kid felt and it is shared by many gay young people. You think you are going to sacrifice your whole family just because you tell them who you really are. Or would it be better to just be quiet and live a lie for thier benefit? I think this video was made for the young gay community and not for the straight biggot community. If it wasnt an article on the Blaze, how many of you people would have even known it exsisted or watched it? As far as his value as a soldier, how much bravery do you think it took to do this?

1. I still think you are a bit confused. So what do you call a straight man who sexually molests little girls? Using your logic, he is exactly the same as all other heterosexual men such as yourself who have sex with adult women. I think not.
2. I guarantee you that gay men feel very natural in their sex lives and most feel a natural revulsion to having sex with a woman (unless they are bisexual). I’m sorry to hear you have experienced unwanted advances from gay men, that type of behavior is unacceptable. But, I think you can now relate to how a sexy woman feels when construction workers whistle and won’t leave her alone. Regardless of sexual preference, its simply rude and tasteless.
3. I think you mean heterosexual men are turned on by nude women, and yes gay men are turned on by nude men. But also keep in mind that I doubt you are attracted to all types of women. Some guys like heavyset women, others like thin models. Conversely, Gay men are not simply attracted to every man who happens to be naked. Lets face it, most people just aren’t that attractive.
Lastly, Yes, of course heterosexual men have a right to stop unwanted gay advances towards them. It should simply be handled in the same way that women handle unwanted advances from straight men. And the military shouldn’t be allowing sexual advances between any 2 soldiers, whether male, female, straight or gay.

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 8:18pmIt IS a big deal if you’re gay in the military. How are they going to separate you in the same way, for the same reason they separate males from females? They can’t. They would literally have to house each homosexual person in their own little hut/building. It just doesn’t work.
If you’re in the military, you understand the problems with having a homosexual serving openly. My husband (in the Army) has met many soldiers who were gay, but hid it well, and it didn’t bother him. They weren’t running around yelling “I’m gay! I enjoy anal sex!!”, so nothing was awkward about it. They were still soldiers, and weren’t treated specially due to their orientation, nor were they mocked. Again, if you’re in the military, the Army particularly, you’ll find that a lot of gay jokes pop up. Now they won’t be allowed to joke without being called offensive or being in trouble, I’ll have to worry if some guy is fantasizing about my husband or possibly even sexually harrassing him. Think of the reasons they house the men away from the women, and then tell me how you plan to separate the men from the men (for the same reasons).

So will we now have separate showers? Will barracks assignment be based upon gender instead of unit structure and/or rank? If two soldiers are “dating” and “breakup” will that factor in higher in unit placement than performance and the need of the unit? In other words if a fire-team has two ex-lovers will we need to place one of them in another fire team? If so what happens to the camaraderie and unity that the other team had built up? In a nutshell when the hell did troop welfare supersede mission accomplishment?
I could give you a hundred more reasons why the Military is not the place for this, but unfortunately the Blaze only allows so much….

You’ll get nowhere – and just look like a fool – if you go around calling homosexuals names, that’s just ridiculous. You are like a broken record dude, you say the same thing over and over. I got it, you think I am a bigot.
Wearing the uniform is not a matter of if, or when. I put it on in 1987 back when the ranger regiment was still wearing OG 107 Jungle Fatigures. Wore it for five years as an enlisted soldier. In 95 was commissioned Infantry (Battle Dress Uniform then). Now I am a field grade, and will pin LTC in about 60 days. My pic is actually of me, and taken about a year ago. It was during the surge in Afghanistan. Pic was taken at what we called check point nine. To my back is Kandahar, to my front (north) is the Arghandab Valley. I was the only American Soldier in that pic, or with that patrol. I was also the only American on a mission that cleared the route from Marjah to Nad E Lie. I was an advisor to the Afghanistan National Civil Order Police (ANCOP).

You served your time, you are an American, and have your first amendment rights. Speak on, weather I like it or not.
The military is not accepting queers because we need recruits. We are actually over sized, and are turning people back. We have to take the queers, because we have a President who hates our military, and hates America. He knows that homosexuality is a smack in our face, and he knows it destroys nations.
The leaders at the highest levels of our military folded like cheap lawn chairs from K mart. In the early 90s Clinton tried the same, but leaders stood up and said “no”. Today’s leaders have no spine, and they drank the PC Kool Aid by the gallon. They are more worried about jockeying for position in the impending socialist empire, than taking care of our military. Any male that supports this, can look in the mirror, and know that his father did not raise a man, but raised a punk and a coward (from private to general).
this new policy allows soldiers to be gay, and bisexual. Not to be graphic, but now a soldier can go down town to a gay bar, get it on with a dude in a motel, come back, get a date the next night with a female in his unit, have sex with her. They tell us that this will not make disease go up, lower morale or discipline, or make a unit less effective. Our leaders have lied, and they know it.
Once again, we have gone from leadership via George Washington, to leadership via Lady Ga Ga.
thanks,
Chuck Stein

Before he makes the call he says that he’s going to call his father, not his parents, and toward the end he says “you can tell Sherry.” I’m guessing that would be the father’s current wife. Posted on September 21, 2011 at 8:00ambringing this over from another post, as I believe it relates
I am no math guru, but I do like statistics, and it is not hard to glean info from stats. Go over to the CDC website, and look hard at AIDS statistics. You will see that 70-80% of AIDS in the US is contracted by homosexuals. Black men tote around 65% percent of HIV cases, and 63% of them get it from sex with other men. Now if you realize that blacks make up around 12% of the population, and gays make up 2%, it becomes very obvious that blacks make up an extremely high percentage of the gay population, and that a much larger percentage of blacks are gay, than white men.
Now why would the MSM, and libs not want this to be known? They are terrified by this statistic for a couple of reasons. They want people to think being gay is genetic, but they dare not tell folks that blacks have the gay gene, as that is not real PC. On the other hand, they also know that 7 in ten blacks are born into single parent homes; many have no relationship with their father. That would lead us to believe that being gay is related to environment. Add in that many blacks get their homosexual intro while in jail and prison. We also know that more black men go prison than to college, and they make up 40% of the prison population. Not hard to see that homosexuality is prevalent in broken homes, where you have minimal father influence, poverty, crime, and high incarceration rates.
Report Post »rangerp
Posted on September 21, 2011 at 8:01amInfo that the MSM, gays, libs, dems do not want to talk about.
They want you to think being gay is genetic, and also want to paint the picture that homosexual men are higher educated, law abiding….. Watch modern TV, as all new shows have the token gay dude who is funny, professional, clever, and a snappy dresser.
There is a much sinister side to homosexuality. Remember- much of the homosexual population got their intro to homosexuality from prison/jail. Last year, one of the biggest military posts in our army reported that right around 50% of sexual assaults was male on male. That is not a stat the pentagon wanted released while they drank the Obama kool aid, and reported that ending DADT would be a good thing. they do not want you to know that less than 2% of our population is doing 50% of the assaulting, and it generally happens to new troops. A gay solder give alcohol to a new soldier, then attacks when he is drunk.
There is a reason that the gay bars and areas are some of the most crime and drug ridden areas of our society. Not all gay males walk with a swing, talk with a lisp. Many are predatory wolves that are very violent and abusive. Far from the picture Hollywood tries to paint.
Read you’re Bible, Check out Judges chapter 19. The sodomites surrounded the house, and said to send out the visiting man so they could know him. They did not want to shake hands; they wanted to pound him in the butt. Sodomites are an evil people, wake up

If any of them lose a brother/sister in arms don’t they cry salty tears?. So EXACTLY what changed when they were allowed to tell us who they are? When this country has spent $$$Hundreds of Thousands to train a ‘gay’ fighter pilot does he become less qualified than a straight pilot. When a ‘gay’ soldier saves his unit’s lives by throwing himself onto a hand grenade does being gay make him less of a hero? Come on guys. I seriously doubt there will be many male “Nancy”s” in foxholes, so regular line soldiers won’t have the problem to deal with. They trend almost exclusively toward rear echelon positions. It might be a different story on ships, and there will be many problems and dissension caused by this puzzling reversal in accepting openly gay people, so both the Navy and Airforce are going to have some serious problems to deal with, even though they fail to admit it right now.
This decision seems strange unless you understand that during the Clinton administration’s tenure many feminists and gays were appointed to advisory posts by him AND, especially, his black Army sceretary, Togo West, who was rabidly anti-traditional American values, and like Maxine Waters and the rest, was and is for breaking the existing white power structure any way they can.
Many ideological look-a-likes to Clinton were given preference for promotions in the Pentagopn, like Wesley Clark. It changed the military brass dramatically and the mindset at the pentagon, not only because of the leftist promotions, but because the other brass, being survivors, knew they had to go along to get along. Unfortunately the US military contains too many who put career over country.
This is an excellent example of how damaging a left wing radical like Clinton….and Carter

Now that it’s out in the open harrassment will be rampant. Do you think men will report militant gays, or just beat the crap out of them? Men typically don’t report sexual abuse because of the stigma. They’ll get their buddies to go with them and beat the crap out of some man who just molested him, and then it will look like a gay bashing. As to whether this guy is militant about it, I don’t know. You can express your opinions, sure, that is one of the reasons I served for eight years in the Marine Corps, so that you could continue to voice that opinion with out being arrested or shot. The problem begins when you start making “educated” comments without the benefit of the education. Instead of guessing how things are going to be with this being passed why do you not instead ASK someone who has been there and knows. By an enormous margin our troops have been and continue to be against being openly gay in the military. We know the kinds of problems that this is going to cause but when we, the only people who really know the effects, express our opinions it is because we are bigots. It is much easier to throw accusations and name call than it is to argue the facts. Mark my words THIS IS GOING TO END BADLY. Moral is going to suffer, costs will sky rocket and sexual assaults will exceed all time highs. Red blooded all american boys, who have been the backbone of the military since WWII, will not join the military the way that they have in the past. Posted on September 21, 2011 at 1:02pmFor those who seem to think serving in the military is a basic right, please get your heads of out of your asses.
The military is the chief protector of its citizens and IT DOES have the right and moral obligation to choose those people their military analysts determine are going to add to overall fighting effectiveness and unit cohesion, just the same as a football team has the right to select its best players. The military is not a laboratory for every kooky, obscene social engineering program some left-wing radical dreamed up in a pot smoking stupor. It is a fighting force that should be free of political involvment in order to function properly, efficiently and effectively.
Those claiming somebody should be allowed because they have a basic right to do so, should take a look at the constitution. There is no right to military duty. Just because they can now openly serve does not excuse them from the UCMJ. What isn’t being understood by anyone is the fact that When DADT was enforce the chain of command was not allowed to ask, and you were not allowed to incriminate yourself. Now however if you say that you are homosexual and are practicing, you are able to be brought up on charges. Which means the military are about to be inundated with discrimination lawsuits over a UCMJ article; which by the way is aimed at Heterosexuals as well as Homosexuals.

I believe Mr Robert answered you question rather well.
Serving in the military is not a right, we turn away people who are color blind, flat footed, have asthma…. Gays were not allowed, because the gay lifestyle does not coincide with military life.
Have you served? Have you lived with lots of men all in close proximity, sharing showers, bunks, small ammount of living space?
This is not the peace corps, it is the U.S. military, where you should want the most leathal force capable of protecting U.S. interests both home and aborad for the cheapest price. having a gay military is going to be much more costly than what the average American realizes. Just wait and see when the medical costs start going up, and they will go up alot.
This is not some big civil rights play ground, where we all sit in the fox whole, smoking a Camel, and enjoying life.
Before Colin Powel turned yellow and jumped on the Obama band wagon, he explained very well why gays do not belong in our military. The define themselves up front by their sexual preference (or should I say devience). We do not want sexual perverst, to include gays, rapists, child molesters, those that have sex with chickens…. we do not want adulterers, swingers….
Is it that hard to understand?

Have you served in our military? How many 15 month depolyments do you have in either iraq, or Afghanistan? How many times have you deployed?
Do you share a shower, share a few sinks, and open bay tents lined with small bunks with 30-40 other people.
Read every post I put on here, I must have well over 5000 words now. Find one time I use the word “hate”. Hate has nothing to do with the topic. It is about truth and reality. Read all the stats posted about the gay community, their propensity for disease, violence, crime, sickness…..
We need a capable and able force, with high morale, high dicipline, and high motivation. gays detract from all three, they demand special rights (they are already holloring for more rights like housing, marriage).
Once again, this is the military, not a civl rights play ground, where every one gets to play. What is next, we going to have blind and crippled infantry soldiers? While we do not hate these people, there is not a place for them in the Army.

Look, buddy, I respect what you’ve done for this country, and appreciate that you at least try to back up your arguments with personal experiences and data, but Lindsey.gilbert529 has got this right. You’re fighting a losing battle here. This thing isn’t going away. As of recently, a majority of Americans, and particularly young Americans, now support gay marriage, and it‘s not because they’ve been brainwashed. It’s simply an effect of exposure – the current political and social climate is more friendly towards gay people then it was 10 or even 5 years ago, and so gays are more likely to be open about their sexuality. A large part of this generation grew up knowing a gay person, or at least being aware that they exist. Being familiar with something makes it less scary. It’s backed up by research – when people personally know someone who is gay, they are much less likely to have negative attitudes towards gay people. It’s the exact same thing that happened with blacks during the Civil Rights Movement, Japanese people after WWII, and over and over again throughout history.
So what’s my point? As a young conservative, I’m telling you that being ignorant and hateful about this stuff hurts our cause. It’s an embarrassment, and not surprising that young people flock to the Democratic party when they feel like the alternative is a bunch of bigots who say they believe in small government but really only do so when it happens to match their rigid, outda

Your message contradicts itself.
You can see that I have studied this topic inside out and backwards, and looked at it from all manner of angels. I provided statistics from a medical standpoint, and history.
You make the claim that it will not be stopped, and because it is now popular, just go along with it.
It may be popular to jump off a cliff, but you still splatter when you hit the ground. I have shown in a number of my posts what happens to nations that embrace homosexuality. Just cause we have MTV, and Rome did not, does not change a thing.
I have a quarter of a century dedicated to serving in our military. I have a vested interest in our military, and I see the political correctness being applied, and lies being told, just to support this. It will destroy, it will degrade.
I do not care if I am the last man standing, I will continue to call “wrong” wrong, and “right” right.
You can take me out, put me against the wall, and put a gun to my head, and I will still tell you that homosexuality is wrong, child molesting is wrong, rape is wrong, bestiality is wrong, adultery is wrong, multiple wives is wrong…..
Doing what is right, when it aint popular is called character; you might want to find some. You claim you are a young conservative. Study the prophet Jeremiah in the Bible. He never got one conversion, his ministry produced nothing. When he stands before God, it will matter that he did right anyway. I am not here to pl

You’re missing the point. Of course I‘m not saying you should just go with what’s popular. What I mean is that we’ve seen this happen throughout history. People are afraid of what they don‘t know and don’t understand. There was a time in this country where the majority of white Americans were as convinced that interracial marriage would undermine the fabric of society as you seem to be that allowing gays into the military is going to do. Fortunately, we realized our collective mistake. Society didn’t fall apart then, and it’s not going to happen now.
I‘m sure you’ve studied this issue, but your logic is flawed. HIV rates are higher in gays, but they’re higher in other minority populations as well. You can’t use that to justify barring gays from service any more than you can to justify keeping blacks or Hispanics out of the military. Similarly, it doesn’t make sense to attribute acceptance of homosexuality to the fall of the Roman Empire. Rome was an ancient military dictatorship that, at the time of its fall, was inherently unstable. Suggesting that homosexuality was what caused their entire civilization to fall apart is a gigantic leap, at best.
The good news is, we don’t need you. The majority of people now recognize that someone being gay or not isn’t a big deal, so we can all move on and deal with the REAL economic and political problems that this country is facing. It’s just too bad that we keep getting sidetracked by non-issues l

Allowing people to be open about their perversions is an invitation for gays to make unwanted advances toward their gender equivalents without being discharged over it. Such a policy causes considerable friction in a force that MUST have unity. Because of the obvious hostility and natural repugnance by the vast, vast majority of those in the armed forces. It is a policy that invites disunity and as part of the overall policy of political correctness will eventually cause the US to be a third-rate military. It won’t cause an immediate collapse, because the number of gays is not very large, but it will be just more weakening factor that the military can ill afford.
This president has never been in the military and doesn’t have the capacity to understand the ramifications of what he decrees.. As a black, he has a victim mentality that regards all flakes, oddballs and misfits as victims, no matter if they are criminals or indulge in repugnant activities.

You know it Liberalmarine..you’re just too reluctant to admit it because it clashes with your ideology. Some may put on the uniform, but they don’t always deserve to wear it.

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 6:39pmYes HEFFE…apparently he just can’t wait to return from overseas to tell his father so he made a video, put it on Youtube and sent a link? He’s even holding a telephone in the still (you know? he could call his father?)..but nah…had to go on Youtube..this can’t be an activist statement..it’s just a son approaching his father. Get some better material kid..but oh wait I forgot..you’re a lefty troll on The Blaze.

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 7:26pmThe You Tube part was his choice… but everyone on here is banging on him becaues he didn’t tell this Dad face to face like man. My point was, who are we to judge how the tells his Dad. Plus what do you mean “send him the link” and “hold the phone in the still” Do you think wasn’t talking to his father the phone?? This is a video of him calling his dad, he is talking to his Dad in the Video. Get some better material kid..but oh wait I forgot..you’re a RW Biggot on The Blaze
The fact is 98% of everyone who posts on the Blaze is RW biggot. (all you have to do is read this thread to see that.) The other 2% is Liberals that post here to argue with Repubs. and you b!tches take the bait every time.

Posted on September 21, 2011 at 10:49amI agree. The military is supposed to be our line of defense. Instead we are getting sidetracked by issues like homosexuality. Don‘t ask don’t tell was just that; we don’t want to know. Blatantly serving in the military as a homosexual brings consequences for the individual himself or herself as well as others in his/her unit. Like others have stated; this isn’t a disco in San Francisco. If it is so important for an individual to live a blatantly homosexual lifestyle to the extent where you can’t perform your military service it may be best to reconsider serving in the first place.
