[Editor's note: tune in to "Real News From The Blaze" on Wednesday, January 18, at 7 pm ET by clicking here.]
On radio Monday, Glenn Beck teased a big announcement coming up on his 5pm show. And if you’ve been wondering what it will be, we have the answer: The Blaze is getting its own show on GBTV.
The show will be a news roundtable featuring analysis and commentary from personalities associated with The Blaze, including moderator Amy Holmes (a regular face during Beck‘s 5 o’clock show), Blaze Editor-in-Chief Scott Baker, and regular contributors Buck Sexton, Will Cain, and S.E Cupp. Other Blaze editors will also make regular appearances on the show.
The show, “Real News From The Blaze,” will premiere on January 18, and will air daily from 7-8 pm ET.
“While GBTV is and will remain an information and entertainment network, we saw a real opportunity to provide the news that our audience is looking for and is too often ignored by the mainstream media,” Joel Cheatwood, President of Programming at GBTV, said in a news release. “We are passionate about offering our audience a deeply reported and engaging look at the news and are excited to be able to draw on the incredible editorial resources at The Blaze.”
Editor-in-Chief Scott Baker echoed that excitement while also promising to live up to the site’s tag line.
“The Blaze audience knows we mean it when we say The Truth Has No Agenda,” he said. “Our goal is to pursue truth and see where that takes us. To have an hour each night to make sense of the day’s news is going to be a tremendous opportunity. That it comes during a pivotal election year bring us an even greater responsibility to be rigorous and relentless.”
You can read the full news release below. Glenn Beck will also have more details on his GBTV show tonight.

Joel Cheatwood, President of Programming at GBTV said: “While GBTV is and will remain an information and entertainment network, we saw a real opportunity to provide the news that our audience is looking for and is too often ignored by the mainstream media. Each and every day there’s a whole world of news and information that goes unreported, ignored by the mainstream media. Stories, issues, and events that impact the daily lives of Americans young and old ignored, purposely discarded, or “reported” without the benefit of the full perspective or context. News = Truth…and the truth has no agenda. Real News from The Blaze will play no favorites. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly will be presented unvarnished and complete without a nod to the left or the right. News and analysis from the worlds of politics, national security, the economy, foreign policy, and whatever else impacts our lives. Virginia Leahy, who helped develop and launch three primetime shows on HLN, will serve as executive producer.
Since its launch, GBTV has already added a wide range of original programming including the reality show Independence USA, the kid’s show Liberty Tree House and the comedy news show The B.S. of A. GBTV also recently announced a deal with Icebox, the innovative animation production company to jointly develop an animated comedy series. GBTV features Glenn’s two-hour show, which is airs live weekdays from 5 to 7PM ET and is broadcast from Dallas, Texas.

It‘s been a little tough lately but if you guys are real and will be a daily part of GBTV I’m in for the duration. Outstanding personalities and information what a concept. I’m stoked.

Posted on January 19, 2012 at 11:04amWish I didn’t have to admit this, but I just finished watching the first half of “Real News From The Blaze” – and I have to say that Glenn broke his promise to me. He said that he would never waste my time. This ill-informed rework of fox channel’s “The Five” was bad. I find more knowledgeable people to visit with when I’m filling my car with gas. The “Real News” “experts” seem to be no different than the “experts” on the mainstream programs – am I supposed to be swayed by their youth (I mean, inexperience). I’m really disappointed.
We NEED a real news outlet, and this promised to be one, and was advertised as one. I don’t need a “consensus” news report. I need facts that the other channels won’t look up. I need TRUTH. This was a total waste of my time, and I am very sorry that “Real News” is off to such a TERRIBLE start with such an obvious flaw in its design. I really am. We need news…not talking heads.
Glenn said that news is put together by one company, which spits out a story, and that the other news companies then just add on to that (faulty) original story, so that the true news is never really looked into – that the faulty premise is just added onto. He promised that “Real News” would be about looking at that first faulty story/premise, and finding the truth. Well, I found the truth – “Real News” as it stands today, is no different than anything you see on NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, etc.

Posted on January 19, 2012 at 11:10amHint: One of the economic “experts” basically said that we need to spend our way out of this recession (a la Bush after 9/11), and on top of that, the experts all agreed that the US economy really isn’t in any trouble long-term, that we’re just looking at short-term problems. It was inferred that the evil 1% are hording money and that the recession is their fault. Hello?

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 9:30pmThe Truth has no agenda, But those that follow it do so because it is a better way. Liberals Mistake being moral and good as an agenda.. Beck provides a good example and libs call it an agenda. They simply can’t understand how a person can say “Be an honest person.” and not have a political motive. I’m proud of the moral standards that Beck represents. He is a good person and he has an opinion and shares it. Libs will always look for any perceived nuance to jump on and oppose. The problem is they never realize why they are doing it. They do it because a shining example sitting next to their underwhelming standards and sick version of morality is too much for them to bear. They simply can’t stand something that is what they know they can never be. By hating it they acknowledge that it is how they should live but can’t because of a weak character. They are simply substandard next to a moral person and it eats them away inside. The only defense is to claim moral superiority. It is like hating Jesus for saying love your neighbor. Show them standards or a moral code..(10 of them) and they will go all batty when they find someone that might actually try.

You add nothing of value to the discussion. Seldom do you debate an issue with out some sort of insult, pejorative or scorn. Posted on January 9, 2012 at 12:36pmPlease correct the spelling error in the caption for S.E. Cupp, “peronsality” is not the word you’re looking for, I think that is “personality.”
The idea might be an interesting one, my one concern is that The Blaze needs to spread it’s news reports to a greater variety. You may get some dedicated followers on a few topics, but as for quality, if you only report about a few topics, you’re not giving viewers enough reason to stick with such a news program. In general, The Blaze has: Gay/Gay Marriage Issues, Israel Issues/Foreign Policy Issues, Politics with distinct leanings, and a bunch of odd/viral video stories from around the globe.
But, if you want to get my attention when it comes to political news, I want to see real digging for information, and not just when it promotes whomever Glenn is currently in favor of. When I want to hear Santorum respond to the CREW allegations rather than just calling them evil leftists and lies, I want answers, not some sort of buddy buddy talk where Santorum is promoting himself and his money bombs. When Glenn can show that he is capable of, basically, disliking all candidates for the journalistic integrity, then maybe I’ll think about paying for such a service as GBTV.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 12:52pmThe internet format is a truly unique and expansive tool for info-seekers. Many of us visit a variety of websites every day and recieve e-mails from newsletters that support ones individual social and political interest’s. Beck tells you who he supports during his radio and internet shows. He doesn’t need to demand his employees spin the news and this website is proof. If you read a story or watch a video that pcoclaims one thing or another, you simlpy type “Search” and verify for yourself. That is the beauty of the internet. You may want to begin to utilize it to it’s fullest extent and stop worrying about who is leaning one way or another, or spinning a story.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:15pmI know how to utilize the internet, and that’s why I want to hear someone actually demand an answer from Santorum about the allegations that CREW made in their report. I want to know why he had a school district pay for the costs of having his children attend school through the internet. I want to know why there seems to be a tendency for him to get donations from companies that he pushes legislation for.
When I want to hear the news, I don’t want to hear opinion. If you don’t notice the stories on The Blaze tend to promote the same opinion as Glenn, you are absolutely blind.

I follow the Blaze enough to see trends (many times a day). Also, it’s a lot easier to see the topic trends and leanings when you may not agree with the slant of the article. In person, it’s a lot easier to notice little hints of personal opinion, in word form, it’s all about the words being used and the style of writing when it comes to how they speak of different groups and different topics. But, to get an even better picture of the opinions being pushed, just look at the comments sections and see the responses the stories get.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 12:46pmFor every one or two good articles Alex Jones has, he has a bunch of other terrible ones. I will say that he does appeal to some of the conspiracy leaning individuals who likely listened to Beck with the whole George Soros stuff, and as Beck has leaned toward being pro-Israel, which then gets into the concept of whether or not people feel that Israel uses the United States or the other way around, rather than focusing on the idea that he stands with Israel against the extreme threats made against Israel. What occurs is that people see that leaning toward Israel as acting for Israel and defending some of the not as good things Israel does rather than just saying he believes that Israel is in harms way with a nation that is threatening to wipe them off the planet and not defending the breaking of rules of treaties that Israel sometimes does.
Anyway, it‘s a hard sell and you have to be specific on what exactly you support and what you don’t. Sometimes Glenn is not all that good at describing that distinction.

I have to admit though, I almost died laughing at the hernia thing. Straight up juvenile, prepubescent, highschool cafeteria material from Beck, there.
Alex Jones has more credibility than the entire “mainstream” media. Matter of fact, Alex Jones and his websites ARE the Mainstream Media, the corporate-owned media has zero credibility and are now the alternative to the TRUTH.
I PERSONALLY FUND PRISONPLANET AND ITS OPERATIONS, NOT SOROS OR MURDOCH!!!

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:51pmWe can’t prevent people, even Glenn from exhibiting “contempt prior to investigation”, IMHO this is the why behind the ignorance of the non-constitutionalists, that a unbridled fear of change.
Report Post »What sticks me as most humorous, is the though of defending our nation within our own borders is somehow less attractive than fighting and killing people the world over. As though defending our own here, would lead to more Americans being hurt than have already been, not to mention the trillions of dollars we the tax payer has to pony up for the global population control by and for the global elite. That logic just baffles the mind.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 12:30pmIf you’ve installed NexDef, get rid of it (uninstall). If that doesn’t work, go into “video” at the bottom of the screen and move to “lowest quality” video (move arrow to the left).
If you are on DSL or a slower high speed, you will not be able to use NexDef or a better quality video setting (I know, I’m on DSL!). The buffering problem is on your service provider’s end, not GBTV.
Or get ROKU, tends to handle GBTV’s intensiveness better than lesser quality serivce providers.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 12:38pmBooger71@ I think you have the same problem as I do? Our internet service is not high tech enough to run the HD format that it is filmed in. I even have the problem on NetFlix sometimes, and DO NOT turn on a microwave in my house when GBTV is on, it wipes out my internet service even on the computer until it shuts off. They do have a lot of technical problems they are still working out it seems though, but it is a “work in progress”.

I can watch HD movies on Netflix without a problem. I could probably cure it by upgrading my DSL, but I don’t think it is worth the extra money

TomFerrari
Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:22pmCould be a bandwidth issue.
I used to have that problem, but, it went away when I switched providers.
I also had a laptop that was buffering too much. I had to rebuild it (reinstall the OS) for other reasons, and the buffering stopped, so it could be a software issue.
Regardless, have you contacted support?

They even have a toll-free number.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 2:37pmI watch via ROKU 2 XD and have had the frequent buffering problem in the past.
Report Post »I bought a microSD card for the ROKU and that has helped tremendously.
You can get info on that at the ROKU support site.
If you delete GBTV from My Channels then go the Channel Store and add back GBTV that seems to resolve the problem for several days.
It appears that ROKU is not freeing up memory.
