At least rocker Gene Simmons is honest.
Appearing on CNN’s “Parker/Spitzer” last week, the KISS front man admitted that he voted for Barack Obama because the young senator was a “moment in history,” and he wanted to show the world how far the United States had come from its slavery past. But now Simmons says he realizes how “unqualified” Obama is for the job:

I hear this a lot, people regretting their vote. Is it that Obama isn‘t instituting his agenda fast enough or you just didn’t pay attention enough to hear what he had in mind for us? Either way that makes you an idiot.Oh yeah, it would be nice to vote for a black president to show how you aren’t a racist. The problem is what he stands for not his skin color. Now look at the mess we have on our hands.

Posted on December 6, 2010 at 2:39pmGene Simmons should have known better. He’s a major capitalist. He knows how to make money, spend it wisely and make even more money. He also supports our troops, took his intelligent daughter to a VA hospital and did some kind of benefit concert for our brave men & women. I just wished he would have taken everything into consideration before voting for Obama. Because by no means is Gene Simmons a ding-a-ling Hollyweirdo type and knows what it took for his mother to bring him to the United States to live the American Dream.
Report Post »IVillageIdiot
Posted on December 6, 2010 at 3:06pmTOTALLY agree, Gene’s mother survived the holocaust and he is utterly capitalistic! He has a very clear idea of what America is and what it takes to make this work.
He’s also quite intelligent. When you think about what he setup, other than the style which has some elements which are disquieting (but, really none of my damn business either…), it’s a SMART setup. If his “business” needs a new employee because one of the employees goes off the rails, NP…. find a replacement, put the same make-up on the new one, it’s all the same to the customer.
For a long time, he had a degree of anonymity which most of them loose. They can’t just walk around in public without getting mobbed. What are the associated security costs of loosing ones anonymity? The mystery itself drove the business to a large extent.
He was VERY smart to Trademark that band at that time in history. Not many of the OTHERs did that, they let the distribution company do that and lost millions, NOT Gene!
He’s really quite clever and smart, and he does his homework.
In the end, I think he wants what we want, LIBERTY!
What I think he likely failed to notice, is that the DEMS don’t really want that, they just pay lip-service to the notion and the stylistic elements of Liberty, not it’s substance.
