Billionaire investor and political activist George Soros announced his engagement to girlfriend Tamiko Bolton over the weekend, Reuters reported.

The festive occasion will mark George Soros‘ third wedding and Bolton’s second.

The Guardian has more information:

Billionaire investor George Soros had a lot to celebrate on Saturday evening: his 82nd birthday and the engagement to his much younger girlfriend Tamiko Bolton.

Soros and Bolton, who met in the spring of 2008, formally announced their engagement at a party at Soros’ summer home in Southampton, New York, attended by a small group of friends and relatives, according to a person familiar with the trader.

Soros proposed to Bolton, 40, a few weeks ago during a weekend visit to the Hamptons, a summer beachside colony on Long Island frequented by New York’s wealthy.

Last year, Soros’ ex-girlfriend Adriana Ferreyr sued the billionaire investor for $50 million after he supposedly reneged on his promise to buy her an apartment, Reuters reminds.

The Brazilian actress’ lawsuit also contained claims of emotional torture, harassment and violence, though Soros denied the allegations.

Adriana Ferreyr did not comment on the news of Soros’ impending nuptials, but her lawyer remarked: “I wish him the best of luck on his marriage, and now that he doesn’t need the apartment, hopefully the case can be resolved.”

The Guardian continues:

Bolton, who once started an Internet-based dietary supplement business and is now running a web-based yoga education business, has a masters degree in business from the University of Miami.

The engagement ring Soros gave Bolton, according to a person close to the trader, is a Graff diamond in a platinum setting on a rose gold band.

The couple told friends the wedding will place sometime next summer.

      Too bad George only shoots dust bunnies these days.

      I guess the Mail Order Bride business was really backed up. He ordered when she was 16, it took that long to finally convince her to go through with it. For her it’s going to be like making love to an old, well used Lazy Boy recliner, the handle is broke, leather is cracked and scratchy, and the seat is all fallen out and broken. Plus, if you did into his wrinkles, you might find change, and the TV remote.

      I just had this conversation with my daughter. When you’re 12, you think 18 is old. I’m 50 and I think 80 is old. Actually, I know 80 is old. My Husband and I are aging together. If my husband saw my 80 year old self while he was 50, he’d probably freak. Just as I would seeing his 80 year old azz whilst I was 50. Going there together is different. It’s freeing.       Why does “The Blaze” even waste space on this “Screwball”. I couldn’t care less about George Soros and his “Temporary Playmates”. The photograph looks absolutely “Ridiculous” and you can’t help but wonder if this woman is looking for more of a “Father Figure” then someone stimulating in the “Bedroom”. The thought of George Soros in the “Nude” is rather a “Dreadful” thought. It’s “Amazing” where money takes the “Human Mind” and how quickly we forget about the words “Physical Attraction”.       She’s not that young. However, money & power = catnip, for some femmes. I hope that she is really after his dough and willing to expedite the acquisition, the sooner the better.

      That said, I am in late 50′s, not wealthy by standard considerations, nor powerful in socio-political sense and still date wenches of less than 25yo. Guess I compensate by my charming personality, by making my guitars gently weep and by telling stories Baron Munchhausen would blush if he heard them.
