George W. Bush Describes the Moment Obama Broke the OBL News to Him

Since the news broke that Osama bin Laden had been killed, it seems everyone has been rushing to give their opinion about the news. One notably absent voice, however, has been the man who launched the modern war on terror, former President George W. Bush. Now, he’s broken his public silence, and among the things he’s revealed is the moment President Obama called Bush with the news.
“I was eating souffle at Rise Restaurant with Laura and two buddies,” ABC reports Bush said when asked at an event in Las Vegas what he was doing when he received the call from President Obama.
“I excused myself and went home to take the call,” he explained. “Obama simply said ‘Osama Bin Laden is dead.’”
He went on to say that Obama described the raid in detail and the decision to pull off the raid. That prompted a simple response from Bush: “Good call.”
At the event, a hedge fund conference moderated by CNBC, Bush also offered his thoughts on what bin Laden’s death means for the war on terror.
“The guy is dead. That is good,” Bush said of bin Laden. “Osama’s death is a great victory in the war on terror. He was held up as a leader.”
“The intelligence services deserve a lot of credit. They built a mosaic of information, piece by piece,” he added, and reports say he claimed no personal credit.
“I met SEAL Team Six in Afghanistan. They are awesome, skilled, talented and brave,” he said. “I said, ‘I hope you have everything you need. One guy said, ‘We need your permission to go into Pakistan and kick ass.’”
Read a full account of Bush’s thoughts here.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 11:57amblaming someone for not doing something to prevent a terrorst act is like a man with a gun pointed at your wife tells you to do something and you dont negotiate with terrorists and he shoots her, and blames you
in “reality” over here, its the terrorist with the gun who wants to kill people who bears full responsibility
its good he didnt prevent the attacks, otherwise we would have never known the depths of the arab delinquencies..
at any rate, you dont blame anyone BUT the terrorists, all others are blameless, and unblemished by the terrorists actions.
by comparison, a large majority of americans are standing by and doing nothing to prevent the terrorist obama bin hussein from destroying america
i;m holding them all personally responsible for that

Report Post »!Steel, did Obama not say he was going to close Gitmo? Did he not say he was going to pull our troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan? He said this stuff to get elected, he promised everything and has lied about everything! What about Obama and his Admin starting civil wars in countries and yet other countries he says nothing? Last what about Obama’s ties with the muslim brotherhood, knowing they are terrorists and tied into Hamas and Hezbola? Why is it he Obama asked the muslim brotherhood to be at his Egypt speech? I have a feeling when everything is found out about Obama, and all his records are opened, your going to find out he was very decietful with everything he‘s told us and he’s not whom he says he is! He’s evil, and will sell America to the Devil, Unless he is the Devil! How many times did Obama use I in his speech to America about the Death of Bin Laden? At least with Bush, he told us we were going to WAR! Obama just start two Civil Wars and steps back and watches while civil war breaks out! So is it better to start Two Civil Wars just because, or try to kill Alquaeda and terrorists? Whats Obama’s true Agenda in starting these Civil Wars, other than getting the Muslim Brotherhood into power? I think when everything is learned, Obama wanted and will help the muslim brotherhood take over the Middle East, and God Help us when they do! Why is Obama pushing Islam on America? Everything he does is for Islam! Why? He’s a True Traitor and hates this country

In terms of this: “How many times did Obama use I in his speech to America about the Death of Bin Laden?“ ”I”, “me”, “my” were used a TOTAL of 13 times (not each, TOTAL of the three!) in an almost 1400-word speech (feel free to count, that’s what I got http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20058783-503544.html Right-wing hateratti (incl. With Obama, I don’t trust a word coming out of his mouth, if he‘s talking he’s lying! Everything Obama says is a lie! Like I’m not going to raise taxes on the middle class, its funny, but were paying more for everything! Obama says he can’t do anything about oil prices. Why not? Why not go to Opec and demand they lower prices? He criticizes Oil companies about not paying enough in taxes, yet GE doesn’t pay anything! So if your good friends with the Obama admin, you get kick backs! Its kind of like when he told us that BP was going to take care of the Gulf spill and the American people were not going to suffer. They were going to pay for everything; well isn’t it funny when you go to fill up at BP “which I don’t” that their gas prices are about 10 to 15 cents higher per gallon! Same thing with health care! Didn’t he say health care would get cheaper? It didn’t! It went up! When he stated he was going to spread the wealth, he is! However he’s spreading it to other countries, and not ours! Don’t believe a word Obama says!…..

He, having bought and paid for the “journalists” in the MSM, knew they too would dance to his tune. They propped him up all during the campaign and continue to do so. Posted on May 13, 2011 at 5:32pmUSELESS—-Would you have told the world that you were planning to do away with OBL? What would have been the RIGHT response in your opinion? I think that GWB said EXACTLY the right thing at the time. In his situation, I do believe that you would perhaps find OBL a source of distraction from other, more pressing matters. OBL could not be the only focus of any president. You go about your normal routine, and when a chance to take that b^$$#@%& out presents itself; you jump on it. Whatever any of us think about GWB or BHO each of them did the right thing at the time. GWB did not try to tell BHO how to be a president, and BHO informed a former president who had a problem of its resolution in a timely manner. I don’t particularly care for the politics of either one of these guys, but I do believe they acted with the interests of the country in mind. I was not present when BHO was told about the raid. I don’t know what his reaction was. I believe very little of what is reported by ANY source. 25 different stories told by 17 different people over a three week period of time might give you a glimpse of the truth of a thing. There’s a dang good chancet that whut ya git is a buncha hooey.

“In my initial communication to you of these events I described what unfolded as a temporary Coup initiated by high ranking intelligence and military officials. I stand by that term. These figures worked around the uncertainty of President Obama and the repeated resistance of Valerie Jarrett. If they had not been willing to do so, I am certain Osama Bin Laden would still be alive today. There will be no punishment to those who acted outside the authority of the president’s office. The president cannot afford to admit such a fact. What will be most interesting from here is to now see what becomes of Valerie Jarrett. One source indicated she is threatening resignation. I find that unlikely given my strong belief she needs the protection afforded her by the Oval Office and its immense powers to delay and eventually terminate investigations back in Chicago, but we shall see.”

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 2:53pmCatB – Sure pal. An mysterious, anonomous source in Obama’s inner circle leaks an hour by hour account of everything that happened prior to the raid. And, of course, he leaks it to an obscure right wing blogger. And it gets passed around the net.
And you guys believe it. A military coup in the US! Well, we all know what PT Barnum said.
Actually Obama promised to go after Bin Laden in his campaign saying, “If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf [President of Pakastan] won’t act, we will.” And, well, that’s what happened. But of course Obama was lying when he said that.
Blame 9-11 on Clinton (even though it happened during the Bush years), blame the economy on Obama (even though the economy hit rock bottom before Obama was sworn in), and give Bush credit for killing Bin Laden. And, while you’re at it, believe anything you read that makes it look like Obama actually did not want to kill terrorists (despite the very large increase in drone strikes in Pakastan since Obama took office).
Believe whatever you want. Facts don’t matter.

Posted on May 13, 2011 at 4:43pmI don’t miss him. He was a fraud, passing himself off as conservative. He was as liberal (read statist) as his dad, John McCain, Jimmy Carter, and others. He did, however, have backbone, which Carter lacked.
Coming out to congratulate a grandstander who very likely had to be forced into deciding to go after Osama just makes him even smaller in my view. He ought to have called Panetta, who put Obama in a decision-box he could not escape.

The last time we spoke, it was about Thelonious Monk.
You wondered how I, a conservative, could like Jazz.
You said something like……to appreciate jazz, one must have the enlightened mind of a liberal.
Well, you may be correct if you were referring just to the listening of Jazz.
But, to be able to master the complexities, and be able to PLAY Jazz, requires the superior intellect of a conservative.

Posted on May 14, 2011 at 12:54am@Therightsofbilly, Ok after all that time you win, ALL conservatives are smarter than ALL liberals and no liberal has ever played jazz. That argument doesn’t contribute anything however to the reality of this war criminal and his adoring fans on this site. I don’t consider myself a liberal I just disagree with most of the narrative in these “stories”. It’s always black and white with you guys.

Report Post »At his worst drinking days, many years ago, this man had more real patriotism, business
leadership, morality than this non citizen, hate America Muslim. Since August this man
has known the CIA & military were zeroing in on Osama & he went his merry way, making
jokes, campaigning all over the country, making himself adorable to the Liberal media & Hollywood types. What a joker we have in the white house! Alligators should carry him off, but they too
wouldn’t want that for a meal.
