On “This Week with Christiane Amanpour,” ABC News’ George Will expressed his opposition to the theatrics engendered by the State of the Union address. “Every president, regardless of party, tries to stroke every erogenous zone in electorate,” said Will.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 8:25amBHO’s SOTU is polar opposite of the real SOTU. His are just meaningless words read off a telepromter. Nobody listens to him except for the MSM. The real SOTU is bad, really bad. The MSM will report the final fall of the union the fault of Republicans.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 7:38amThe drum beat continues with America’s stupidity! America, like Rome is nothing more than a bread and circus society! As long as the people are entertained the politicians can do what they want! It will continue this way until the bitter end!

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 7:29amObama does’nt even have to show uo for the SOTU. All he does is read the teli prompter. He should just record it, and have somone play the recording. I won’t watch him. I will wait until Wednesday and listen to Glenn, Rush and Hannity and get there take on what the teli promper had to say.

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 2:14amI can’t understand how George Will stands to deal with these idiots week after week. I know he is not the kind of guy to go on Fox, but he must sit there time and time again wondering why he is on the same panel as an imbecilic moron like Krugman!!

Posted on January 24, 2011 at 6:32amHere’s the simple answer about George Will. He understands, unlike many in here, that if you are going to have any chance changing minds and hearts you can’t spend all your time with only those who agree with you. He has the guts to take his game on the road, so to speak. I give him kudos for that.
I seen a good number of posts in here from folks who have honest disagreement with the prevailing opinion on a given story. I’m not talking about the obvious trolls. I mean folks that just have another well reasoned, but different take on things. There is very little real debate in here for those people. They get slaughtered. It’s a shame IMHO. Freedom that only includes those in complete agreement is intellectual slavery.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 11:37pmThe Tucson speech, as some have mentioned here, was not about policy or politics. The message was important regardless of Obama’s real feelings. The state of the union speech will be much different. This speech will be all about his agenda and those of his and his liberal base.
Report Post »I suspect the first order of business for him will be to prepare a path to make himself look good and cut down his opponents. He will probably step up the “I’m moving to the center” talk since he knows that’s going to work for him in 2012. Remember, he’s in heightened campaign mode now. A word count on “bipartisan” will be amusing.
He will likely be vague and not offer up many disputable numbers, to avoid looking dishonest or stupid.
I’ve read that he intends to propose further spending that “we absolutely must” embrace to avoid some impending disaster or another. This rumor may have have been put out there to make the conservative press look bad for announcing it, and then he won’t actually include it in the speech. After all, a huge percentage of the country will not approve of more spending.
One thing he is probably not counting on is that his over exposure has caused so many to distrust him or not pay any attention at all.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 11:17pmMissed the State Of The Union spech. But I hope they list the Kumbaya Gang. I heard one of my areas guy was going to particepate in the lovein. If he did I will not vote for him and I bet a lot of others wont either. You can tell when the election is over. they wont worry about the next one till next year. They better learn a little majic between now and then they are going to need it. For the first time in my voting life, several years, I feel informed thanks to Glenn Beck and Fox News. We little people have our eyes wideopen and we are watching, listening and taking notes.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 9:01pmWith all the kowtowing to the Chinese, where oppression and torture are the order of the day, It’s comical that the man pretending to be the leader of the free world, could possibly think anything he says is of value. Or as the Chinese saying goes, “face of a buddha, heart of a scorpion” I prefer, “Talk is Cheap”. No doubt he has his script writers working diligently to reassure his clique that he has all the answers. Very clever man this Will.

Posted on January 23, 2011 at 9:11pmI hear you! I had a conservative tell me the other day that they thought his speech was so good for the memorial event in Tucson, they were willing to give him some ground…. Completely forgetting about his actions, associations, mediations, bowing and scraping and … Ugh. I honestly am afraid for anyone younger than me (approaching 60) to understand what it was like to be real, to talk real, for real things to mean things. I think it speaks to why people dont like Savage, because he speaks plainly, and without a trace of political correctness. It sounds so harsh and mean to our softened ears, we have been coddled and soothed into numbness to what is real.
