George Will: What Is Mitt Romney Doing With ‘Bloviating Ignoramus’ Donald Trump?

Columnist George Will didn’t hold back on Sunday when he questioned what the Mitt Romney campaign is doing with “bloviating ignoramus” Donald Trump.

Trump, who endorsed Romney in February, is currently serving as the star power for a “Dine with the Donald” raffle dinner with Romney, Trump and a supporter. The Romney campaign stood by its decision to campaign with Trump despite his latest comments questioning whether President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

“I do not understand the cost benefit here,” Will said during ABC’s “This Week.“ ”The costs are clear. The benefit — what voter is gonna vote for him [Romney] because he is seen with Donald Trump? The cost of appearing with this bloviating ignoramus is obvious it seems to me.”

He continued, “Donald Trump is redundant evidence that if your net worth is high enough, your IQ can be very low and you can still intrude into American politics. Again, I don’t understand the benefit. What is Romney seeking?”

It’s not the first time Will has taken a swipe at the real estate mogul: In December, he said the GOP candidates should not allow themselves to be “hijacked” by Trump and his attempted presidential debate. Trump hit back, calling the nationally syndicated columnist a “third-rate“ who ”makes so many wrong predictions.”

Watch below, via ABC. Will’s comments begin around the 13:00 mark.

Romney was picked a long time ago by the powers to be. He is buying the vote, but our voting system was created in a way that the rich, who would buy the election, could be challenged by an underdog, as long as that underdog could get a grassroots movement behind them. Romney is backed by all the elite corrupt corporations, most of which took part in the bailouts, and the same that backed Obama. Paul is backed by a grassroots movement.

“Turns out Ron Paul is deeply committed to the Republican party.”

When Ron Paul endorse Romney falls in line with the will of the voters he will have shown that he is “deeply committed” to the Republican Party and will offer his help wherever needed.

Heck, when Reagan was in office he ran from the Republican Party, then came back like a bad STD. So tell me SOY… besides “using” the Republican Party for political expedience, show me when he has been “deeply committed” to it? His half man / half horse ideology doesn’t cut it for most Americans, especially voting Conservatives as has been continually shown in primary results.

Time_2, You might as well give up, this is a takeover of the GOP. It will be referred to as the New Grand Old Party (NGOP). You sit there and think in old terms when it comes to electing a nominee. With your name you should be able to understand that Times are changing. Many people have woke up and are doing battle within the GOP ranks and are winning. Laws have been discovered that take away all that binding of delegate mindset, and delegates are going to be able to vote their conscience on the first round.
I imagine that Romney’s camp is not happy at all and are very nervous at this point. Romney cannot even get supporters to show loyalty at his rallies, at state caucuses and conventions, what makes you think it will be any different at the Natl convention?
Paul WILL have more supporters at the convention than Romney as they are loyal, committed and are on a mission to take over the party, by the rules that the RNC set.
You have never given anything to the discussions here that gave any kind of advice to your side of the party. You have not helped Romney supporters one bit. All you have the ability to do is call names, bring up bogus crap about Paul and spew your hatred of Libertarianism. You are irrelevant.

They are so blinded with their own pride they don’t even see how THEY are the ones that are ignorant of the rest of us in America and what will win elections. He will be an asset — he will hopefully not have the same fears as the wimpy, out-of-touch GOP consultants and say what needs to be said about Obama and warn the people. I read where he has not given up on the “birth certificate” issue either and has written a personal note to Arpaio encouraging him in March. They have new and more proof that it IS fraudulent. Trump ia a hypocrite with the Chinese. Interestingly middle his “support American made” campaign last year, he was found to have his line of shirts made in China and of porter quality than expected. Typically, his approach is to say one thing to serve up red meat for the masses and act differently but never take responsibility for it.

He has clue about international anything especially oil. His only business is renting his name out and getting publicity. He is the worst part of America. Tacky, London, brash and contributing nothing.

Momrules- never listen to the words but follow their actions actions speak louder than words . Your choice to choose who you vote for . My guy dropped out to take care of his little girl like any good Dad would do his action spoke volumes . But in a choice between Romney and Obama I personally choose Romney . Obama actions have also spoke to me and the book is garbage. Maybe Romney will not use the advice of wicked czars maybe he would choose to build a cabinet out of people of integrity something the current administration is lacking in. My Native American heritage cries out for justice my people are not connected with a casino tribe thank God so they have not been corrupted but this adminstration continues to rob from them and break its treaties. As a hospice nurse working on the reservations here in california the difference between the have and have not is miles and the pay offs to the state and feds is criminal. These people die before their time from cancer. The land and water is tainted but nothing is done. We need true people of courge .doing the right at times is not very popular. My grandmother on my dads side was Blackfoot and his dad was Irish/scoth a world war. One and two hero. My mother is a Spainish Jew. And we are Americans this is my country and I am willing to stand for the right thing as Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.

Mom, you are right, anyone can vote for whomever they choose and noone can force you to do otherwise.
      42 USC 1971 – Sec. 1971. Voting rights

      (b) Intimidation, threats, or coercion No person, whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President, Vice President, presidential elector, Member of the Senate, or Member of the House of Representatives, Delegates or Commissioners from the Territories or possessions, at any general, special, or primary election held solely or in part for the purpose of selecting or electing any such candidate.

Along with rule 38, this means that delegates cannot be bound to vote for any candidate for the nomination for President, Vice President, etc…, in any primary election, this would include the convention. This also means that the Massachusetts RNC establishment has violated federal law by trying to force all delegates to sign an affidavit to vote Romney on the first round or face purjury charges and threatened them if they do not sign with losing their delegate positions. Where is the outcry from honest Republicans?

I guarantee that there will be more Paul supporters as delegates in Tampa. It will be very interesting to watch thi

I didn’t say we HAVE (as it’s etched in stone) a 100 years to take care of a damn thing, what I did say it may take 100 years to turn this country around from the Liberal mindset entrenched in any number of Institutions. Time_2, You always shout that it is all the liberals fault. No it is not! It is the fault of progressives and progressive thinking and policy that have gotten us here from both sides of the aisle. This is what is hard for some to comprehend, even though that was Glenns biggest point of everything he tried to say on his show, whether it be Fox, GBTV or Radio. Does not matter anyhow. Paul is going to win the nomination. You have to try and grasp reality here. The RNC uses certain states law, to position their establishment pick into the nomination at the Natl Convention. People just go along with their trickery as they do not understand the Constitution and Federal law. Federal law is what I will talk about as it trumps any state law and trumps any party’s rule.
42 USC 1971 – Sec. 1971. Voting rights clearly state that voting is something every person, no matter what position they hold, have the right to vote as they please and anyone that trys to make them vote any certain way other than their conscience, is illegal.

Google it, research it, look at rule 38 of the RNC Primary By laws. Romney is going to be toast, so the sooner everyone joins with the true front runner, the less the GOP will be hurt politically. Your choice though, you can vote however you want. Paul does not have to drop out and endorse Romney, it is the other way around.
