George Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, special prosecutor Angela Corey announced at a press conference today at 6 PM.

On Wednesday, Florida special prosecutorAngela Corey announced that 28-year-oldGeorge Zimmerman has been charged with second degree murder. Zimmerman has been at the center of a media frenzy after shooting 17-year-old Miami teen Trayvon Martin in a Sanford, Florida neighborhood in late February, with Martin’s family, media figures, demonstrators, and myriad supporters publicly calling for his arrest. Zimmerman, she confirmed, is currently in custody.
Corey shared that the decision was not made “lightly,” nor was it influenced by “public pressure.” She later stressed the difficulty in reaching the “right” conclusion in difficult homicide investigations. “We will continue to seek the truth throughout this case,” she added.
CNN has also reporting that Zimmerman has a new lawyer today, Mark O’Mara. His former attorneys — Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig — withdrew as his legal counsel after they became unable to contact Zimmerman.
Fox News also sat down with Zimmerman’s old attorneys to talk over the strength of his case. Their interview is in two parts:

She is charging him with the most serious charge she can while not having to take evidence to a grand jury. It is clear to me that this is a political decision, not a law-enforcement decision.

Even if Zimmerman were innocent they will sentence him anyway because they are afraid of losing in this election. I just hope that Tallahassee wakes up and starts pushing back. Zimmerman was found guilty by a racist lynch mob and our wormy politicians will do nothing to defend the rule of law. These folks that are inciting riots should be jailed and sentenced for obstruction and inciting violence at the very least. But, they will be given a free pass. Do I however see ANYONE standing up and getting out on the streets to defend him? NO. Everyone INCLUDING myself, is sitting at home, in their comfy chair and air conditioning with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine bitching here….. but we all choose to DO nothing. The racists are turning the tables on us and yes Zimmerman will be railroaded. What will we do. Nothing. Sad, so sad. As the gun when through the standard check for buying a gun, which ever government offices involved had that information. Viola! Less then 6 weeks later I’m getting invites to join the NRA. The problem was that only I and the police knew I had the gun. Since I did NOT contact the NRA, unless gun ownership is a public record, the police contacted the NRA.
I have heard that the police agencies and the NRA share information. This appears to be one of those cases.

Think about it. You are a tough young black man. You have got in trouble at school three times in the last six months, ( theft, assault, and traces of possession) You are walking down the street sporting a gold grill and some tats. You are out of your territory ( he was staying at his dad‘s girlfriend’s house.) What gang lines are you crossing what colors are you flashing? Then a black Dodge truck starts to follow you. So you check it out. You find that a Hispanic man is following you and talking on the phone about you. Is he calling the rest of the street gang. It is time for fight or flight. So you run and hide behind a privacy fence. You only need to go another 100 yards to get back to the house but you do not want this guy that is following you to know where you live. When will the rest of the gang show up? after hiding for almost 4 minutes he finds you. You are trapped. You just need to take this guy down long enough to run away then circle back home. You get him down then it is all over.

Yet Trayvon was found just 75 feet away from the spot that Zimmerman last saw him at the end of the Zimmerman 911 call. Who started the fight? Who was on top? I don’t know. I think Zimmerman stupidly cornered a scared though man.

Posted on April 11, 2012 at 9:21pmI’ve been thinking about Zimmerman/Martin and that 2nd degree murder charge is a stretch for that special prosecutor.
1st is always premeditated and 2nd is usually associated with a felony crime, hold up a 7-11 and some one gets shot. No felony crime here even if Trayvon was beating the snot out of him.
The fact that she didn’t want a grand jury tells me that they would not think it would stick like spaghetti on a wall and we have a race riot.
So she goes with murder 2 that a jury of his peers will most likely acquit him on reasonable doubt and the race riot is postponed for at least a year.
What I worry about is the bounty on Zimmermans head by the NBP’s and no one is looking at them for illegal activities.
Once they bring Zimmerman back to Florida he needs to be in protective custody or his life isn‘t worth ’squat’.

Trayvon might say the same thing if were alive with this guy following him for no reason that he can understand. But he can’t. Because he’s dead. So he can’t contradict Zimmerman, and Zimmerman will get off.
But I bet Zimmerman never follows anyone again pretending to be a hero. And if he does and they turn to confront him, I‘ll bet he doesn’t kill them. It wouldn’t look so great the second time around. That’s probably the best thing that can come out of this. Zimmerman doesn’t kill anyone else.

If Trayvon assaulted Zimmerman, he was a criminal, and Zimmerman acted rightfully in self defense. If he did not, Zimmerman is a murderer, and will be prosecuted as such. Either way, it has nothing to do with concealed carry laws.

At least answer questions for those of us who had not declared Zimmerman guilty of cold blooded, racist inspired murder.
I hope he can get a fair trial but I will admit I will always wonder if he would have been charged at all if the media pimps, the race pimps, the hate filled NBPP and the President had not gotten involved.

Posted on April 11, 2012 at 7:27pm@Polarized, jury selection is the most insane and messed up part of our entire insane and messed up criminal system. That’s a funny place to look for hope.
Let’s face it — this case has gone way beyond the truth already. Nobody that thinks Zimmerman is guilty is going to be convinced and nobody that thinks he’s innocent is going to be convinced no matter what comes out at trial. There is no chance of getting a fair trial and the worst part is there never was. No matter what side you’re on, you have to admit this as a lost cause, and the jury’s verdict might as well be decided by a roulette wheel as a court case.
So the question is where do we go from here? This situation has revealed the depths of the divides between us. How are we going to heal, grow, and love our neighbors as ourselves? The only way to salvage this trial from the cesspool of history is a concerted, common effort to become better Americans together.

It sounds like this is also what happened to George Zimmerman, but we will not know that just yet. Right now, I fear that the prosecutor is practicing APPEASEMENT, but the truth will eventually come out. Being part of a neighborhood watch is not being a vigilante. Defending oneself is not being a vigilante…..Convicting Zimmerman before a trial and a thorough review of the facts….THAT IS VIGILANTISM.

Otherwise it would have stopped at Norm Wolfinger who didn’t decide to charge, and further, it would have gone to a Grand Jury (who wouldn’t have charged him, either.) But yes, this is influenced by the call for bloodshed and a river of blood to flow through the streets. I’m so sick of this.
What happens when he is found not guilty? If he wasn‘t even charged in the first place and there’s this much outrage, what happens then? THIS is vigilantism, MOB rule. Just like with the Casey Anthony trial. COME ON. People live their lives in FEAR because of these death threats.

Are these charges being done due to the evidence or due to the ambitions of a local DA? How much of it is due to pressure from the DOJ and Mr Obama? How much due to the potential threat of a race war starting in the area? How much from simple threats being made to the DA office each and every day with the blessings of Holder and Obama?
Zimmerman will never be able to receive a fair and impartial trial, due to the fact of the massive amount of publicity involved already; and the ongoing threats posed by the extremists, it is even a fair chance he will never leave jail alive due to the NBPP bounty on his head – an open contract for the commiting of a murder.

In the left biased part of the country I lived in back in 08, 09, everyone I knew was terrified that if Obumjob did not get elected there would be a race war.. So they all (not me for God’s sake) voted for the Obumjob, out of fear.. yeah all white people with no brains, no spine, and a good life style, very good (left coast, get it?).. So they are getting what they wanted.. they knew damn well what Obumjob was, they simply chose to not say a word because their ‘peers’ and ‘family’ would crap on them if they said one thing about Obumjob.. I have not been able to speak freely for years.. and my friend count is getting real small, if I could call these spineless left coast people ‘friends’.
For the 4.5 years, that’s what remains of this term plus the next.. OK so technically it’s approx 0.75 years remaining, about 270 days give or take.
By that time life in this country will be a living hell for many, and some kind of Utopia for the brainless.
