Georgia Company’s Breaking Point: ‘We Are Not Hiring Until Obama Is Gone’

A recent report claims that a Georgia business owner has been posting “controversial” signs on his company’s trucks.

What do they say?

“New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone.”

See the 11Alive news update:

“Can’t afford it,” explained the employer, Bill Looman, Tuesday evening in a recent 11Alive report. “I’ve got people that I want to hire now, but I just can’t afford it. And I don‘t foresee that I’ll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C.”

Looman‘s says he put the signs on his company’s trucks and posted pictures of them to his personal Facebook page six months ago. When he originally did that, he said that he received mostly positive reaction from people, “about 20-to-one positive.”

However, one of those pictures went viral on Monday and the reaction was enormous.

In fact, the reaction was so huge that Looman had to disconnect his phones because of the non-stop calls, and he‘s had to temporarily shut down his company’s website “because of all the traffic crashing the system,” 11Alive reports.

Looman made it clear:  he is not refusing to hire to make some political point; it‘s that he doesn’t believe he can hire anyone because of the poor economy that the Obama administration has helped to create, adds the 11Alive report.

“The way the economy’s running, and the way my business has been hampered by the economy, and the policies of the people in power, I felt that it was necessary to voice my opinion, and predict that I wouldn’t be able to do any hiring,” he said.

Apparently, someone really didn’t like the signs: Looman was reported to the FBI as a threat to national security. The accusation started with the FBI, went through the Department of Homeland Security, and ended with Secret Service Agents interviewing him.

“The Secret Service left here, they were in a good mood and laughing,” Looman said. “I got the feeling they thought it was kind of ridiculous, and a waste of their time.”

Despite the visit from the Secret Service, as well as the flood of calls and Internet traffic, Looman refuses to take the signs down.

“I just spent 10 years in the Marine Corps protecting the rights of people… the First Amendment, and the Second Amendment and the [rest of the] Bill of Rights,” he said. “Lord knows they’re calling me at 2 in the morning, all night long, and voicing their opinion. And I respect their right to do that. I’m getting a reaction, a lot of it’s negative, now. But a lot of people are waking up.”

      When I say “elites” I’m talking about all the locust otherwise known as Socialists at the bottom and the top of Society. Because in America it is in fact Socialism at the top and bottom.       @SPANKADONKEY So because he was the lone voice of reason in Congress, in the house, that was always marginalized is failure to you?

      How about that he served his country honorably. Have you? How about his success as a OBGYN and physician, what have you accomplished? How about his track record of upholding his oath to the constitution, have any of the other candidate done even a fraction of their oath or dedication to this nation? What real GOOD accomplishment have the rest have, really? What have they done to really change anything in this country for the better.

      Ron Paul has opened my eyes and the eyes of millions to the concept of true liberty and has created a following willing to FIGHT for freedom, not just pay lip service to it.

      Vote for Romney or whomever you like. I will vote based on principle. I will not vote for who ever has the R next to their name on the general election just because YOU think it’s what should be done. If you don’t vote for Dr Paul IT IS YOU THAT PUTS OBAMA IN OFFICE FOR ANOTHER 4 YEARS. We’re warning you now, Ron Paul is the only chance to take Obama out of office.       I know this mans pain. I, too have a small business that in the past serviced small businesses, but here in St.Louis industry is dead. we have lost soo many factories, manufacturers, construction contractors, engineering firms, etc. that the only people here that have money to spend are the people with goverment and big bank jobs or welfare checks. Even most the people that have jobs qualify for food stamps. IT is really bad. I get depressed just looking for client businesses. because a 3rd of our phone book is out of service #s

      Ron Paul has a lifetime of service to this great nation starting with his service in the military, his successful medical practice and his consistant victories in getting elected to represent his state which he has done with strict adherence to the constitution and moral law. He truly is someone you can believe will continue to be a HERO of the founding fathers brand. You CANNOT say that for any of the rest of the snake oil candidates he is running against.

      In my analysis of the Republicans over the past few decades it would appear that they are afraid to nominate a Republican. Strange, they consistently nominate a RINO. It could be that they are afraid of loosing and try to and nominate someone that some Blue Dogs could support. In other words, they consistently pick fence straddlers and democrats help them do it. I think the Republicans are destined to loose hence forth until they can get themselves an identity. Stand for what you are instead of just trying to settle for something you think that might win.       Large businesses are refusing to hire because of the expense of Obama care & the way he is running the country. Obama thinks he can jack his jawbone some, whisper sweet nothings into the ears of CEOs & they will go out & hire.

      No surprise that a “complaint” led to the FBI and the HS (HS!) and the Secret Service (SS!) coming to “investigate”. No, can’t complain under the Obamanation.

      Back in the late 80s, here in the Soviet Utopia of Kitsap County in the People’s Socialist Democracy of Washington State, I tried to turn a hobby into a small out-ot-the-home business. To make a long story short, it was a nightmare. Once the Government and the Insurance Industry got their fingers into my pie, I lost money and quit. I’ll never do it again, since I can’t move and the Neocommunists have strengthened their hold here.

      I live in Bremerton, Washington, once home to the USS Missouri (now in Hawaii, where all citizens can go and see where the great WW2 ended – if you can afford it) which was once a thriving town with many businesses and 2 movie theaters. Now, it is a Soviet wasteland. But: our taxes are raised, etc., etc. etc. .

      Why would I EVER want to do business here again, and under the Obamanation and “Queen Christine’s Realm”, it is totally unthinkable.

      FBI,HS, SS- Please come at a decent hour. If you would not come after the drug dealers in the community at night, please don’t come for me at night. Thanks.

      What kind of bussiness did you try and operate? I‘m part owner in two companies in Poulsbo and have never had a problem the only problem’s I’ve had in that county had to do with property zoning
      and bald eagle’s nesting on a couple of properties.

      My husband is a 4th generation plumber. Since 1920 the father, then eldest son have become apprentices and then masters in their field. We are trying to prepare to buy the business (as we all know, nothing in life is free) and are finding ourselves scared to death of what may happen. It has always been just father and son, except for the years when son has not yet been old enough to work as a plumber a helper is hired to work with the father. Sometimes, when things are good, more than one helper. It may not be much to many people, but it is to the helper who can pay rent and eat.

      Since Obamacare the idea of hiring a helper has gone out the window. I myself am now going to have to go get my journeymanship license so that I can help keep up with demand. The thought of expanding the business is no longer.

      This business has seen it through it’s share of recessions and througheven the Great Depression, I just hope that we can make it through Obama. I have a gut feeling that the worst has yet to come.

Who in their right mind would invest in their business knowing it would cost them more money not to mention the mountains of red tape…

    This has been our unwritten policy for a few years now. After having to lay off several workers, we now have to try to weather the storm, and hope to survive until Obama is gone. Should Obamacare be upheld, we are looking at laying off more. Downsizing is the only realistic choice for most small businesses these days, with uncertainty about taxes, health care costs, and new regulations popping up daily.

    Small business is what fuels our economy and creates jobs. Things will get MUCH worse if we have 5 more years of Democratic rule.

      Med Mutual of Ohio jacked my companies health insurance 35% for next year. Almost $7,000 a month, I pay 100% of the cost. There will not be any new hires anytime soon. My employees know why, they are now awake and involved. They are working harder. No one even calls in sick any more. They seem to know that every job is tenuous. Everyone is trying to prove their value. Productivity can not go any higher. Pressure is building. It is criminal what this Socialist Ba$tard has done to this nation.

      On a lighter note, public sector unions in Ohio are all getting raises right on schedule. My Daughters 2nd grade teacher makes $82,000 per year and has almost 1 million in her retirement account that we taxpayers have fundeed. I have told all my employees (43) that we will be leaving the State soon.

      I agree with you completely, All of this Stand with Israel crap is kind of getting old. Threatening curses from the Bible and God is laughable as well. People can go ahead and make the case for defending allies, but “The Wrath of God” if we don’t? Religious propaganda at it’s worst.

      I have read the Bible for many years, although I am not a biblical scholar, a few things are pretty clear. God sent his Son and our Savior Jesus Chrsit as promised. When the Jewish people denied him and helped put him to death, that was the moment they stopped being Gods “Favorite” People. If you do not believe in Jesus as the Savior of man, NO HEAVEN FOR YOU… Israel does not, they are still waiting for their messiah to come “soon”, and have paid dearly for this denial for thousands of years. Christians are God’s Chosen ones!

      There are reasons to stand “behind” Israel, but not “with” or “in front”. Let them do what they have to do to defend them selves, they do have lot’s of Oppenheimmers little helpers.

      Now I will hear from all of the “Stand” crowd who will thump me with tortured bible logic; I will be called names and threatened with lakes-o-fire…yawwwnnn.

The IMF is made up of wealthy people that own most of the banking industries of the world. It is an organized group of bankers that have taken control of most governments of the world so the bankers run the world. Congress, the IRS, and the President work for the IMF. I remember as a 12 year old I wanted to open my own company, and as I got older realizing the way the government controls who a company hires and fires, and all the other meddling, then before I reached 20 I decided I would never, ever in a million years open a company to feed Fedzilla.

      Our local licensing board has made a ordinance that If I install a Mailbox for a elderly neighbor, consisting simply of digging a 2-3 ft. hole with a post hole digger and placing a 4“x4”x 6′ post In the hole, packing in the dirt and attaching the mailbox would make me a “contractor”.
      I would be arrested and face 1 year in jail for “contracting without a license”.
      The elderly neighbor would be fined up to $5000 dollars for hiring a “unlicensed contractor”.
      You Have to love the tyranny of the new progressive managers of the U.S. Corporation.

      I own a small RV park now and have in the past owned a convenience store and a hauling and grading business in South Carolina. Compared to other states our regs aren’t that bad. ‘Course, SC is a right to work state and we don’t have union thugs bribing and threatening politicians and bureaucrats….yet.

      i have a friend thats a dentist, that specifically told me that Obama’s health plan, that he and the democratic congress passed against the will of the people, forced him to not hire more dental assistants due to insurmountable costs of the new legislation forced onto small businesses. He said that he could hire quite a few people but when the laws hit in 2013 its going to increase his costs greatly. So there is a problem with POTUS’s policies and the economy.
