Geraldo Interviews Trayvon’s Parents — Apologizes for Hoodie Comments

NY Daily News:

Geraldo Rivera personally apologized to  Trayvon Martin’s parents Sunday night for saying that children shouldn’t wear hoodies because “Trayvon’s hoodie killed him as surely as George Zimmerman did.”

“Thank you for the apology. Your apology is accepted,” Trayvon’s father Tracy Martin told Rivera on Fox on Sunday night.

Tracy Martin said that at the time of the incident it was raining and Trayvon was just covering himself up.

“Trayvon had every right to have on his hood. He was protecting himself from the rain. When being suspicious walking in the rain with your hoodie on is a crime, then I guess the world is doing something wrong,” Tracy Martin said.

As far as groups like the Black Panthers who have said there is a bounty on Zimmerman’s head, Tracy said, “First and foremost, me and my family as well as our attorneys are promoting non-violence in this issue. We just want a peaceful resolution.”

Attorney for the family, Ben Crump, added that “The only people we want to make an arrest is the lawful authorities. We do not for the record acquiesce or suggest anybody, Black Panthers or anybody, try to take the law into their own hands because then we’ll be guilty of what we’re saying George Zimmerman did that night.”

      Geraldo like most of the conservative Unfair and Unbalanced news and commentators will be showing some creative walk back and reversal as the facts come out on this 2nd. degree murder. You can’t claim stand your ground on a conflict you create. Zimmerman wasn’t on Neighborhood watch duty, was told not to follow Martin and certainly did not have to get out of his car. Walking in any neighborhood in the US is not a crime, gated or not.

      3 AM? The shooting occurred during halftime of the NBA All-Star game. I didn’t know they played that game at the break of dawn. Seems like it would make more sense to televise it during primetime.

      No one has claimed “stand your ground” except the mainstream media. That’s where that term is coming from, not Zimmerman. If the incident took place as Zimmerman says, it was simply self defense and has absolutely nothing to do with stand your ground. Also, Martin was not simply walking down the street. He was out in the ran, walking close to the buildings, “looking about” according to Zimmerman’s 911 call. Lots of burglaries in the neighborhood lately – maybe he was casing some homes. And any good neighbor should report suspicious activity whether they’re on a neighborhood watch of not.

      By the way, sunset on February 26th in Sanford, FL, was at 6:22 pm. Zimmerman made his 911 call at 7:11 pm, so it was dark out at the time.

      In the final analysis it is these parents who are really to blame. For example they never raised this juvenile criminal with any kind of values, except obviously to hate whitey. And they allowed him to run free to go anywhere at any time, and obviously ignored his many disciplinary problems at the school, plus I think it is safe to say they probably couldn’t care less that he was found with dope in his pack, along with a burglar tool and women’s jewelry, making it quite obvious the innocent little boy was a criminal perp.

      I don’t feel sorry for them. They and those like them make up 99% of the parental black community and are the ones mostly responsible for the out-of-control crime and violence committed by teenage blacks every day of the year all across the country.

      Black mammies and pappies here’s a question for you: If you don‘t try to rein in and raise your brats right and they’re running loose assaulting, stealing, robbing and are just no more than out-of-control thugs, how can you expect that they won’t run into a bullet, most likely from a white store owner, white policeman, or someone in the black community? Black on black murders are common.

    Justice does not mean what it use to mean. Justice like every thing else has been corrupted by the liberal mental illness of Political Correctness. Our father and grandfathers would tell you what exactly to do with P.C.

Justice is that the black criminal is glorified and exxonerated and their victims and their families are put through the imprisonment of Hell for losing their love one to senseless murder.     Geraldo bit the big one on his insensitive hoodie remarks. I don’t care for his ultra Liberal perspective. Every once in a while he might get something right, but this was not one of them.

    Liberal creepy ideology thinks you can change a person from the outside in. Throw a bunch of freebies to them like, sneekers, boom boxes, computer, cell phones, hard core rap songs glorifying ganster life styles, encourage pants hanging off your rear end and bagging that they are ready to fall off and showing off your underwear, calling your women hoes, indoctrinate them through liberal hollywood movies, the liberal media who do not report on the huge ratio differential in Black crimes on everyone, giving the sense of invincibility, use the law to further enforce that they are not smart,enough or good enough to compete on a level playing field such as affirmative action, scorn people like Bill Cosby, who is an awesome role mode. WAKE UP!! Hard work makes anyone successful! No one ever starts out on the mansion on the hill. Well except people like Paris Hilton, but they are not role models, but poster children on how not to act. To the Black Panthers, you can not be the future. You are all you claim other people to be.     Trayvon did not have his hoodie “on” initially. Trayvon’s GF told the family lawyer that when she was speaking to Trayvon that “Trayvon said he was being followed so he put on his hoodie.”. Was the hoodie to hide or send a message to Zimmerman? Who knows? But no it wasn’t on until he was being followed.

    In either case, this is an agenda that will prevail… Already, Zimmerman has been tried and convicted in the media, and will be (is?) the reason to bring on the social chaos/race riots. All media whores like geraldo will do anything to insert themselves into the debate for ratings.
    Zimmerman will never get a fair trial, due to the media frenzy and those activists who demand blood — and the possibility of shoddy police work that needs a cover-up.
    And now the gun laws in Fla; and every state will be under attack.
    The al sharptons and black panthers of the world are given a free pass by law enforcement to incite violence and do as they please. If found guilty, it will be the white race that is to blame — hispanics are only that for voting purposes.

    Typical everyday story of a violent black person. Everyone still using old photos of this thug. The police did their job. It was an easy assessment because this is an everyday event. Blacks are shot all the time, by each other or by others. Check out any local or state crime stats anywhere. Within that same week a 14 year old black kid beat and raped someone at a motel. Where’s the media? Were are the Hispanics to defend one of their own?

    On one hand hoodies has negative connations under certain conditions, on the other hand I’ve worn hoodies myself in certain weather, walking home on a dark night. That doesn’t mean I was up to no good…

    Judge Zimmerman in justice of a court of law, he is innocent until proven guilty. Likewise Martin may also be innocent, unless evidence in proves otherwise.

    Several options exist, Zimmerman killed Martin. From a distance or up close.

    Martin attacked Zimmerman or didn’t. We don’t much at all. One option will only work if Zimmerman lied. Autopsy will have shown angle of entrance and exit, and distance from target. As far as I know we don’t know that. What ever the case it will be one form of evidence that will either support or deny his story. Especially one of the reasons we should jump to any conclusions or wild conjecture.

    Double sets of fingerprints, or were gloves worn by one or both? His story is that Martin struggled with the gun before shots were fired. Again we don’t know all the facts that is something the jury will have a chance to hear.

    There apparently is no evidence of broken skin or any thing that would suggest Zimmerman physically touched Martin other than thr bullet holes. The coroner says not even scratches on his hands, that would be indicative of punching Zimmerman. But maybe he tried to grab him.

      Clarification, I‘ve mainly wore hoodies when it’s cold, and in rainy weather. Yes I’ve worn under those conditions at night as well. Never crossed my mind someone might mistake me for a hoodlum, pardon the pun.

      For everybody who keeps saying that Zimmerman is innocent until proven guilty, actually it doesn’t exactly work that way. Self defense is an affirmative defense. That means a defense that goes “I did it, but …” But it was self defense. But I was crazy. But it was entrapment (for other offenses, that one doesn’t work for homicide). Unlike a regular I didn’t do it defense, the accused has to prove the part that comes after the “but …” The prosecution just has to prove that you shot a guy, you have to prove that you had a good reason.

      What is it called if Martin inadvertantly caused the the gun to discharge while struggling with it? In case Zimmerman never intentionally pulled the trigger himself, but more to be threatening? “With no intent to kill”.

      I’m not sure it could be called self-defense exactly… Accidental discharge?

      Now if Zimmerman had intent to kill (one of the rules, at least some pople’s rules of fire arms is never aim unless you have intent to fire it, but I digress), and Martin struggled to save his life, causing it to discharge. Intent to kill could be murder, manslaughter or self defense? Even if he didn’t physically pull the trigger himself?

      I know this is alot of what-ifs I’m just curious how courts interpret things in these kinds of situations.

      Ya Drago is right, I checked laws in case of self-defense (it was an Ohio website but I would assume the basic tenants remain the same in all the states) that even in self-defense the person involved is innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

      The outcomes being ‘innocence is upheld’ by the court.

      The ‘defender’ was in a location he had a right to be in, when defending himself. If trespassing it probably is murder.

      The claims are rebutted and he is found guilty.

      There was. Ore but that is as far as I read. But he also gets presumed innocence.

      Likewise even a murderer who kills someone in daylight in public view lots of witnesses gets that right.

    They are guilty of deceiving America about the case right now by allowing pictures of Trayvon 12 and 13 years old to be displayed like he was a little boy. I am sure they would like to remember him like that before he started running with his gangbanging brothers and attacking bus drivers and neighborhood watchmen. They owe America an apology for allowing msnbc to distort this whole crazy mess. Sarpton said they(the parents) asked him to seek justice for them. Someone is lying. They are making money off of their dead son…disgusting! Geraldo has never been wrapped too tight…so we ignore him must of the time anyway.
