SEATTLE (AP) — The German news organization Der Spiegel has published photographs showing two U.S. soldiers posing with the head of an Afghan corpse.
Army investigators looking into the deaths of three Afghan civilians last year seized gruesome photographs kept by troops as trophies. Five soldiers based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord south of Seattle are charged with murder.
In one photograph published Sunday, Cpl. Jeremy Morlock of Wasilla, Alaska, grins as he lifts the head of a corpse by the hair. In another, Pvt. 1st Class Andrew Holmes of Boise, Idaho, poses with the same corpse.
A third shows two apparently dead men propped against a pillar.
The Army says the photos depict “actions repugnant to us as human beings and contrary to the standards and values of the United States Army.”

Posted on March 20, 2011 at 9:57pmThe current Administration; Is that what it is? Speaking of negative reflections on the RBIC (Rat Bastard In Charge). Look at this argument and ask yourselves if this POKS has commited an impeachable offense in violation of his oath of office, articles I and II of the Constitution, and the War Powers Act by launching 70 million dollars worth of United States Missles on the sovereign nation of Lybia without constitutional approval by the congress of the United States.
Article II, Section II of the U.S. Constitution identifies the U.S. president as the commander-in-chief and the civilian oversight of the U.S. military. But the clause gives the U.S. president no authority to use military might to enforce his political will upon foreign nations.
Article I, Section VIII of the U.S. Constitution bestows the power to declare war solely on the U.S. Congress. It requires both the commander-in-chief and Congress to commit U.S. troops to combat, without which any deployment of troops is wholly unconstitutional.
The 1973 War Powers Act was put in place to prevent a U.S. president from doing exactly what Barack Obama just did.
SEC. 2. (a) It is the purpose of this joint resolution to fulfill the intent of the framers of the Constitution of the United States and insure that the collective judgment of both the Congress and the President will apply to the introduction of United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, and to the continued use of such forces in hostilities or in such situations.
A U.S. commander-in-chief can order use of military force under only three specific conditions:
•1. a declaration of war,
•2. specific statutory authorization, or
•3. a national emergency created by an attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.
In the case of Obama and Libya, none of the three necessary conditions exist.
•1. Congress did not declare war.
•2. Congress was not consulted and did not give specific statutory authorization.
•3. The U.S. was not attacked in any way by Libya, which presented no threat to the U.S. or U.S. assets.
Obama has acted alone, well beyond the scope and authority of his office and at odds with the national interests of the United States and the Constitution which he took an oath to uphold and defend.
Obama used U.S. soldiers illegally and unconstitutionally. These are the facts and Here we have a clear-cut violation and abuse of presidential powers. We have a runaway government acting against the interests of the United States and beyond its legal authority.
When is enough, enough? Who is going to launch a full-scale investigation into Obama’s dictatorial use of military might and begin impeachment proceedings?
Quote: “The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”
- Barack Hussein Obama, lawyer, U.S. Senator, “Famous Constitutional Scholar”; Boston Globe, December 20, 2007

That said, there is a line that must be set, which defines proper conduct, even in war. The circumstances must be analyzed, and a just action taken in light of these circumstances. If these soldiers need help, then it should be given to them. IF they indeed crossed that line willingly, in full knowledge of their actions, then the punishment should be harsh.

That may be a mitigating factor, and it leads us to the question, What is Obama accomplishing in Afghanistan? All I see is that our troops are being killed, maimed and demoralized. You can‘t win a war when the CiC doesn’t care about troop morale. I am not excusing or accusing these guys, but there is a case to be made against Obama. He is letting our troops rot in that hellhole for nothing, and bad things will continue to happen.

Posted on March 21, 2011 at 12:37pmAgreed, but the “coincidence” of one of the soldiers being from Wasilla is a bit too convenient for my liking. Also the narrative smacks of a hidden agenda. Is Der Spiegel covering the drug wars in Mexico and splashing photos of the victims and the horrendous way they died on the front page? Did they splash photos of the victims of the massacres that occurred in Rwanda on the front page? Sure, we will have all the goodie two-shoes in Congress moaning and groaning about it and probably some in the military as well–the same who ignored the rants and tirades of Col. Hassan before he killed soldiers at Fort Hood. The same people in Congress won’t say one word about the daily massacre of young black Americans in the cities throughout the country, but drop everything when one of their own is shot, strive hard to blame it on the right, and try to pass laws to protect themselves. We don’t need to “reset” the buttons with Russia, Iran, or anyone else for that matter; we need to reset the moral compass of the country and restore personal values and responsibility.

But will and does, and has theis happended before – all sides, all wars. It happens because we are human – placed in a hellish situation that is constant danger, constant tension, constant “flight or fight” response that does not get abbaited. It‘s why there should be no cameras’ allowed. Pic’s like this can haunt the individuals and their families that will never understand how their “sweet, fun loving child” could do such things. There was a reason most of the veterans from WWII and Korea never spoke of their experiences – they understood how others would see/shun them if they knew of what they had to do in war was known. So everyone should pray for their mental recovery and otherwise keep their yaps shut!

NO POLITICS. WIN. Then we can go pick up the people.

Has anyone seen about Harry Reids son. 90 PAC $$$$ collectors in 1 apartment in VEGAS when he ran for governer. More DEMS should be in jail than drug dealers. Term limits, Lobbists rules, etc.

Can we all agree that the majority of our U.S. Military are Conservative and vote Republican???
So it is safe to assume that these soldiers are Republican’s and Conservative.

It is safe to assume that our U.S. Military is trained to kill, trained to think, and trained to be honorable. If that makes them conservatives and/or Republicans, I don’t understand how.

“Thanks for the link. I watched a debate about this and the leftie argument was that Sharia law in the U.S. will only be applied if all parties are of Islamic faith. Some states are trying to pass legislation that will prohibit Sharia law from being used at all. But some leftie supreme court judge will fix that I’m sure.”
___________
“If both parties wanted the case handled by Sharia Law, they could have chose to do so without knowledge of the US Courts. In such cases, we would have no say in the matter…
This is not what happened…as I see it…
The current owners of the Mosque wanted the trial settled by Florida Secular Law. The former owners of the Mosque wanted the matter settled by Islamic Law. The Judge basically gave a big middle finger to the current owners and said the matter would have to be settled by Islamic Law.
This is putting the foot in the door to more Sharia law cases. I would be willing to bet money this case will be used as a precedent for future cases where one party wants to use Sharia Law for settling legal or possibly criminal matters…
What really ticks me off is that the Islamic world is so damn dysfunctional and wretched and now, due to the broad-based affluence, equality under the law, extraordinary mobility and real freedom that Western societies have created, something the Islamic world has never done and will never do because Islam is incompatible with liberty and other core Western values! Muslims in large numbers in the West are now parasitically taking advantage of achievements that their deeply backward world could never attain. Sickening. Islam is the ultimate parasite and ingrate.
I honest to God believe that NOW is the time to make the stand that if a Muslim is in favor or Sharia Law…THEY NEED TO BE EXPORTED to another country…one that SUPPORTS their disgusting doctrine!”

I meant to say “DEPORTED”…but now that I think about it…perhaps EXPORTED is more fitting a term!

Posted on March 21, 2011 at 1:34amOnce I had a client who proudly showed me a picture that was taken in WWII where he and his fellow soldiers were proudly standing on the top of a pile of dead Japanese soldiers! In fact, the ol’ gentleman insisted that I keep the photo…He was proud of his service and PROUD that we had won! Only HE knew the price that was paid, not me…Tears ran down his face as he described the HELL that they lived through…I DID NOT find it disturbing or demeaning…That‘s why it’s called WAR! I THANKED him for his service to our Country!

The moment that man won the election, Islamism became a part of us. Even if we bring our troops home, it won’t make a difference, because a Muslim is in the WH. Voting Obama in was sheer insanity.
