I agree, these liberal wacko’s have weakend our resolve and strengthened muslim hate by defacing scared hallowed ground. The towers should be built taller and stronger with anti-aircraft guns mounted on top. That is the way to honor those who gave their lives that September morning ten years ago.

I believe we must reclaim our status as courageous warriors, as outraged fighters, as the parents of the child that has been set upon, and say to those that have crossed the line and caused us pain: “there will be reprisal and punishment”.

In our American Exceptionalism, one borne of varied and mixed cultures, peoples with differing origins, of diverse religious affiliations; putting aside our petty differences which keep our combined culture fragmented, is crucial. I am one of those “Sleeping Giants” that has been awakened and want you to be awakened, and join me as a “Sleeping Giant” freshly awoken, a giant no longer asleep that sees the light of day before it is too late and is willing to ACT.

Please America; help us stir the “Sleeping Giant”. WE must always remember the fallen!

The museum will help us remember what happened to all Americans on 9-11. We must never forget. The media has tried so hard to push the truth of that day under the debris & erase the horror that we experienced. This is a burial site of thousands of innocent Americans & should be treated as such. Honor, respect & silence. We changed forever on that day. Remember & always be on guard. Do not be lulled into complacency.

F-You you heartless waste of sperm. I lost 2 friends at the WTC on that day. This wasn’t some accidental car crash and some flowers by the side of the road. Close to 3,000 innoncent people lost their lives that day. Many of those were heroes whose job it was to into the buildings to save lives. This memorial helps people “move on” by having place to come and reflect not only those lives that were lost but on their own. Its a reminder of what was, what has to be and what can never be again.

Shall we do away with the memorials at Auschwitz and Pearl Harbor too.

What a vapid, lonely existence you must have.

      Jim,

It is a sad day when we forget our past! You must come from a wonderful family that forgets it lost members. However with the avatar you use I can see why. You are part of the destruction of a great nation. It is also obvious you have never fought for this country other then piss all over it. Your leader is a coward with big toys and dreams of a dictatorship. I choose to remember we are at war not only with enemies outside our country but within and people like you are the enemy.

Just about anything will collapse if you slam a large passenger jet-aircraft into it, then have it cooked by burning jet fuel for about 20-30 minutes. Not too many buildings out their that can claim survivability after such an impact if there is any at all. Though I would agree with you that the buildings were a bit plain looking say compared to the Empire state building which is one of the best examples of Nuevo-gothic in NYC…

So when the museum is dedicated on September 11, 2011 will President Barak Hussain Obama be there to lead the nation in remembering what Islamo-Terrorism did to US? Or will he continue his world-wide apology tour and somehow blame America for that happened on 9/11/2011?

Myself, I’d rather have President George Bush be there to open the museum. More fitting and much more professional.

I keep the flag that I had flying that day folded up and kept safe. See the people who killed many of our innocent citizens who had family and kids at home. Then, go see the place they worship their god. FINAL NOTE: Muslims are not peaceful, the whole religion is based on violence to those who dont agree with them.

not the whole thing, the newer sections are the part that get scary. it starts out peaceful and nice and lawful then goes off into we’re so good and right anyone who does not agree with our greatness should die. bottom line is if you do not bealive what they do, they want you dead. but there are levels of belief like all religions. there are those that do the rituals and just get through life and there are those that live it fully and with “questionable” leaders, can be persuaded to kill in the name of alah. questionable like rev wright or loony farakan, the ones that place blame and incite violence.

My opinion…? We should have rebuilt the towers exactly as they were. We owed it to the victims and their families and we have failed them. This “Freedom Tower” and everything at the site is a prime example of the politically-correct doctrine that our country has fallen victim to. This isn’t America…not the America that I knew in my 20′s…..back when we had a man in charge who wouldn’t put up with crap from anyone. Ronald Reagan I imagine is rolling in his grave. America has become a weakened nation of liberal ideological pukes who are running the show. They manipulate the politicians who make every decision via their poll numbers and to please the liberal loudmouths. We as Americans should have demanded that the Twin Towers be re-built as an act of American defiance and a big middle finger to the Islamic cause. We are all guilty. Guilty for allowing this new Freedom Tower and plaza to be constructed in the first place. All that we have done is shown the world and our enemies that we are a bunch of compromising weaklings that can be manipulated with terror. We weakened a country – OUR country and strengthened Islam and our enemies. When are we going to stand up for what we believe in? How many rights are we going to allow to be slowly taken away before we act? Have we forgotten history and are we doomed to repeat it? I say YES. Sound off if you agree.

It is strangely quiet at ground zero, even though there are the usual construction sounds. The two tower footprints (to become reflection pools) are surprisingly small, when seen from above. The buildings envelope the site, which made me feel very secure. I believe this will help many people move on from that very sad day in our nation’s history.

I will never forget Obama sauntering on stage as if he was doing a comedy skit during one of the presidential debates in 2007, when he said with a little smirk……”some of you might remember 9/11″. That one statement told me everything I needed to know about the man. To even think about making a joke out of what happened on 9/11 is truly evil or to think that Americans would forget the day that 3,000 innocent lives were taken by radical muslims in an act of unprovoked war is outrageous. After he made the statement, he waited for people to start laughing….and seemed surprised when no one laughed.

Why do you have the word “rendering” in quotes? It implies you feel this isn‘t an authentic artist’s rendering of the site.

Renderings are necessary for any new large architecture or public art. So it’s a usual practice. I‘m only asking because I’m confused why you put the quote marks around the word.

@tombombidil (with all due respect to your honorable screen name), I thought the word ‘rendering’ appeared in quotes for three possible reasons, all that make sense:
      1) because it was a quote
      2) because the comment wanted to emphasize the imaginary quality of the depiction (from an imagination probably prone to ignoring something as disgusting as a monument celebrating the horror of that day) and
      3) because there is a possibly appropriate second meaning to the word “render”, which might reveal that this artist’s “rendering” might be making meat of the real truth about our adminstation’s attitude toward the horrific attack on this country (and the world).

I feel as if the terrorists have won sometimes. Our lives have changed so much since Sept. 11, 2001 and I think that is one of the objectives that these barbarians were after. And we are doing it to ourselves. We must not run around like scared little animals. We must act like the people who protected us from imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.
