Gibbs: Obama Will Work to ‘Ensure’ DADT Passes During Lame Duck Congress

During Tuesday’s press briefing, the press corps grilled Robert Gibbs on the president’s stance on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Far from clarifying the president’s position, Gibbs left reporters baffled.

However, he did make two things clear: the president will work to “ensure” DADT is repealed during the lame duck session of Congress, and Republicans will bear the responsibility of not properly funding the military should they refuse to vote for the defense bill that contains the repeal amendment.

So, let’s see how many “promises” the left are making for right after the election:

    1) $250 for every SS recipient
    2) Repeal of DADT
    3) A budget

What’s next? DREAM Act? Increasing Minimum Wage? Implementing a Living Wage?

It’s funny how blatent the left is being about buying votes with taxpayer money…

Now I suppose the military is going to need extra funds for doubling up on the showers etc. in the field.

Ah yes, the same old tactics. If Anyone in Washington wishes to remain there, they need to vote on principle, not on their wallets.

Another way of translating Obama is that he’s going to try to COERCE Congress to pass the DADT law by putting it with Military spending bills. Despicable.
But then again, isn’t this how Congress shoves porkulous bills through?

I am glad that he was clear that it was going to be attached to the actual funding of the Military. Also, they plan on blaming the Republicans if the bill does not pass because of the DADT repeal. This is how things have been done in DC for decades and it is about time it stopped. Obama has not brought the change he promised, but is bringing change that he never told the american people about. Him and the rest of the progressives are liers to the core, and they sincerely believe they are working for the greater good and that we don’t know what is good for us, only they know. It is time that we take responsiblity for what goes on in Washington and hold them accountable in everything. Now is the time to decide to take back the future of America or give it over to the progressives and be rulled by them. What are you going to do?

There are several measures that will never be accepted by any committee but that would be overwhelmingly be embraced by the people.
…Lower the wages of congressmen and senators to 80k until the budget is balanced.
      …is DADT ok or no
…health care reform (not health care insurance reform.)

Wishful thinking in a partisan environment. Elected official vote party lines, not right and wrong. Love the tea party concept but I’m sure that most everyone sent to that environment is corrupted over time. Where is a Mr. Smith goes to Washington when we really need him?

It seems that most of these people serve as a career not as a rep of the people…
I would like to see a law passed to allow for national referendum on issues like these. Great national debate between neighbors and coworkers and in coffee shops. Then let the country go where the people take us… Sounds scary and right at the same time.
