The rich people who lost a lot are now in the middle class, duh. So they do not qualify as “rich” anymore, we are eliminating them through taxation and insane legislation. These are the job creators, duh.

How blind does one have to be not to see that a poor economy helps hurts everyone and a good economy helps everyone? And to think, some actually wonder why people think this administration is socialistic. Perhaps it is because much of what they say is about redistribution of wealth.

Here’s a quick test: name three countries over the course of all recorded history, that succeeded with big governments who sought to redistribute the wealth of the country.

Bonus question: if you are diagnosed with cancer, name your top three choices for where you would like to be treated. Hint: none of them will be outside the US.

Because they would have us all believe that “trickle down” economics is a complete sham. Of course, it’s called “trickle down” not “gush down,” so they’re dissatisfied by the amount of trickle.

These people are not focused on us, the American people. They are focused on their agenda. They could care less what happens to this country. They will pass everything possible for the destruction of capitalism, the progression of the destruction of our currency, and the american way in hopes that once they are kicked out, a little of what they did will stick. Thus they’ve progress at least a little. And in their minds this would be a success. They’ll sit back for a while, hide in their holes and reappear when they think circumstance and time is on their side. These people know exactly what they are doing and they know exactly what they are saying. They are not idiots by any means but they are anti-american by all standards.

Class warfare is the standard for the Democrats. Paint the rich as the bad guys and then stand back and let the envious Dem followers start ranting and raving about how the greedy rich are ruining everyone’s lives. Life would be so much better if those greedy rich would just give us more of their money. I wonder if any of them actually stop and think about how disgusting it is to try so hard to take away wealth from someone else who has earned it and keep if for yourself.

I could go along with the notion that this dismal economy isn’t being felt by the uber wealthy as much as the middle or lower classes, but to say that “it isn’t hurting the rich,” is disingenuous and in my opinion designed to do nothing more than fuel class warfare or set the groundwork for putting a greater tax burden on the wealthy, “’cause they can afford it.”

My household income falls in the 250k range and while we still have a roof over our heads and plenty of food in our bellies, our investments for our future have tanked, our kids‘ college funds have dwindled and we’ve put a hold on virtually all discretionary spending. So, yeah, this economy is hurting us just not as badly as others. We’re fortunate enough to have more “cushion” than many to absorb it, I suppose.

Only question is, how long will that cushion last if current trends continue? That uncertainty is what is driving us to put the breaks on all our spending, which in turn doesn’t really help the economy, right? How about we take the targets off the bank accounts of everyone, even those evil rich people, and instill a little more stability for a change?

When they hurt, they don’t hire, buy boats we build, RVs we vacation in, cars we sell and build, stay at resorts we clean or cook in! I think its time for Obama to take another vacation…take gibbs with him and just leave America alone…just stay away, we are so much better off when you boobs are gone!

The Demcrats are going to WIN in November. You are being sucker-punched if you believe that the less than inspired or inspiring Republican candidates will overcome the hundreds of millions of dollars that Democrats are ready to unleash. They are laughing up their sleeves as they watch Americans walk into their trap. And once they’ve held onto the house and senate they will turn up the volume and begin Phase Two of the Marxist takeover of America? So do you have the stuff to take the defeat and still fight on? And how far are you really willing to go to save America? We are on the brink of open civil war. You will have two choices…look the other way and hope for the best (as many Jews did in Nazi German)…or fight for your country. .

Riiiight. The Dems are really ahead in the polls but there is this vast conspiracy among the Democrats not to tell anyone so that it will be a big surprise in November. Don’t anyone tell the secret. None of the Republicans even suspect! How sneaky is that?

He may be right in that many of those making such “large” salaries are putting off purchases until they are cheaper due to the deflation that has already started. Also those making such “large” salaries are not investing in business that requires employees since there is no way of knowing what the regulatory framework will look like in 3,6, or 9 months from now.

What these big government types will never understand is that you can’t legislate those with money into creating jobs and so while those making 250K/year may not be in need of grocery money their lack of investment in businesses that create the 40K/year jobs due to government interference is what is hurting those that would fill the 40K/year jobs.

Here in California there are plenty of people earning 120k+/year that are still in need of grocery money at the end of every pay period. As usual the Administration is out of touch with the rest of the nation as to the degree to which their policies have stalled the economy and that those making 4-5 times his 40K number are hurting as well.

Thats right. In a Democracy you have the choice to be rich or poor. It’s the cards you are delt at birth and the choices you make in your life that contribute to most peoples financial positions. I am not talking about the inheritance folks or the lottery winners but the people who work hard, save what they make, and plan for their future. I have been in Michigan for 10 years now and I have witnessed people who, with no education, were making a lot of money working for the auto industry unions. Well, thats over and the new middle class will have to be highly educated and motivated to just make it into the middle class.

What you said about ‘the cards you are dealt’ seems to run contrary to what you said about hard work. Its not about what cards you are dealt at birth… its about the values you are taught, and choose to live by. Poor people can become rich if they are taught (or teach themselves) how. Most poor people are so by choice. They are taught to be poor (or refuse to learn how to get rich), and they choose to stay that way, and in many cases blaming a nameless, faceless enemy (the rich guy) helps assuage their anger at themselves due to the fact that they remain poor. And some are just happy that way.

everyone has a different idea of what is RICH and what is POOR.. some feel rich with a job that pays the bills, love of family and friends while others feel POOR with just making it.. the trick here is to feel rich when you have ALL you NEED not all of the things you WANT (we always want something).. and to some having all the money STILL wouldn‘t make them feel RICH cause they DON’T have yours.. still others with money only buy what they need and don’t feel they are Rich..only that they have what they need.. it’s all in the perspective and ones values..

According to a report submitted to Congress, top-level staff members of the Obama White House earn the same amount as their predecessors in the Bush administration. The report, which a 1994 law requires be submitted annually to Senate and House oversight committees, shows that the White House’s personal list shows 487 employees. Among these staffers is Robert Gibbs, who earns the salary cap of $172,200.

Now, now, let’s understand what Gibbs is looking at. To him, the recession hasn’t hurt him. He’s a government employee earning over $170,000 a year. Obama is earning, what $250,000 is it? Government employees (and union leaders) making that much money aren’t really affected by recessions because they have recession-proof pay. When was the last time that they took a pay cut because the economy was doing poorly? They won’t even reduce spending when the economy is doing poorly – any private company would be out of business by now.

The best way to let them realize the impact of the recession on their pay is to vote them out of office.

Obviously, Gibby, with his statement represents a man who is “not playing with a full deck” since the “rich” are the small business owners who during the GWB years were the only ones adding new jobs and took our economy to new heights! They also built big homes that employed many workers which added to the economy. Gibby has become dumb and is now the dumbest advocate I’ve seen in my lifetime! I would give him the name “pathetic”!
