Giggling CBS Anchor Incorrectly Tries to Explain Tax Cuts to Paul Ryan

CBS’ Norah O’Donnell on Friday thought it would be a good idea to try to explain how taxes work to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the GOP’s top “budget guru.” Needless to say, for anyone who understands the difference between a tax cut and a tax increase, she ended up looking rather foolish.
The Republican congressman kindly and calmly gave her a 30-second lesson in the basics of taxation.
“So we’ve been acting in the House, Charlie. We’re just waiting for the senate to do something,” said Rep. Ryan to Charlie Rose.
“Congressman, you’re calling them ‘tax policy’ and ‘tax code.’ You’re afraid to call them tax cuts now?” O’Donnell said.
“They’re not tax cuts, Norah, because they’ve been –” the congressman started to say before being interrupted by laughter. “Because they’ve been the tax policy for 10 years.”
“Come on, Congressman!”
“Honestly, Norah. Keeping taxes where they are is not cutting taxes. Preventing a tax increase is preventing a tax increase. It’s not actually cutting taxes,” Rep. Ryan said.

In point of fact the bill that started all this cut taxes for middle income folks as well as ‘rich’ folks. That‘s only just peeked out from under the smoke screen when Obysmal finally said he wants the continuation modified so that only ’rich’ folks get screwed.
