Gingrich Delivers FL Concession Speech: It’s Clear This Is Now a Two-Person Race

Shortly after learning of his second place finish in the Florida primary, Newt Gingrich delivered his concession speech to supporters, declaring that “It is now clear that this will be a two-person race between the conservative leader, Newt Gingrich, and the Massachusetts moderate.”

He assured supporters that “We are going to contest every place, and we are going to win, and we will be in Tampa as the nominee in August.” The former House Speaker closed his speech by saying he would pledge his “life and fortune” to the presidency and American people.

      Even Romney has a better stance in NY23. Actually Romney has backed more Tea Party/Conservative nominees than any other candidate we have. Romney has stood up, as a Conservative, in 1994 in Massachusetts. If you look at the Florida election you will see that the Tea Party is moving towards Romney, away from Gingrich and even Santorum. That is because Romney is a Conservative.

      This is a guy that said in a 2002 Massachusetts debate that he would ride up and down the street yelling “the taxes are coming, the taxes are coming.” That was Romney in 2002 in liberal Massachusetts ( http://www.TeaPartyForRomney.com )

      My calculations say that Willard (Money bags) Romney spent about $21/vote. Now thats a real conservative.

      This is for TeapartyforRomney: Romney is pro-abortion, pro-gun control, and he will raise your taxes. He put in liberal judges in Ma when he was gov. He is no conservative. He can’t wnl against Obama because his policies are the same. He is no businessman. All he has done was give his money to other people to invest for him. No matter how rosy a picture he paints it, Bain Capital bought up businesses and put them out to pasture putting people out of work. Gingrich has proven himself. He balanced the budget four years. He brought back the Republican party. He made Clinton look good.
      Look at all the really good people supporting Gingrich and all the corrupt people supporting Romney. Please people do your homework.

He voted for Lautenberg Gun Ban, stood by Nancy Pelosi in support of the “Criminal Safezones Act”, Supported the WTO, the World Trade Organization. Voted for GATT, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade that subjected Americans to the international authority of the WTO, voted for Department of Education in 1979, and other unconstitutional acts.

      Blazing eagle the, Lautenberg Gun Ban=The act bans shipment, transport, ownership and use of guns or ammunition by individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence, or who are under a restraining (protection) order for domestic abuse in all 50 states. The act also makes it unlawful to knowingly sell or give a firearm or ammunition to such persons.

      Criminal Safezones Act=limits where a person may legally carry a firearm such as a K-12 school. A State-issued carry permit may exempt a person from this restriction in the State that physically issued their permit.

      Great, lets give more guns to more convicts.

      I think the Republicans are screwing themselves by lying to us about their fellow Republicans. Liking one candidate over another should not be a bad thing. Romney’s famous quotes are “I like to fire people” and “I do not care about the very poor”. The establishment Republicans live in a little NYC-DC bubble and cannot see what the real America does or thinks. Wait until Obama puts $1 billion behind those Romney quotes and even Romney’s grandchildren will question him.

      @RL My question is “How can anyone create a job for more than one person–Themselves?” Any job that is created by someone for someone else is at best a make work job. Easily 90% of the jobs that BHO has created are make work jobs. To be completely honest, Romney might suggest that he created 100,000 opportunities. From there it is up to the individual to make of it what they can. In the worst case, the opportunities pay minimum wage.
      I have had those jobs in the past–back when the minimum wage was minimal. But I was never content with that, nor did I whine or assume that I was worth more–I proved that I was worth more. I never stayed at the minimum wage position for more than a couple of months. I have been laid off when companies were downsized. I got a job within a couple of weeks. But I took a cut in pay to work. Within a couple of months I got a raise.
      A work ethic is what makes this country and its people great! When are we going to recognize that for the second time.

      Libthinker, I nor the real conservatives in this race (Newt, Santorum) are bragging about creating 100,000 jobs. I was just curious as to what these jobs consist of because the only thing I am hearing from Romney is “I I I I I I I created 100,000 jobs and I I I I I I saved the Olympics, and Newt is evil”.

      I just want to know more about these jobs because apparently that’s what we have to look forward to under Romneycare (from cradle to grave).

    Newt’s concession speech was brilliant. Puts to severe shame Mr Becks tormented **** sadism of Mr. Gingrich. Newt has a tea party message. He was there at the earliest Tea Paty rallies…I never saw Santorum involved in any Tea …He is a Union coal miner rep. much like Joe Biden …He grabs onto social issues like Bart Stupack…holding the babby issue hostage to cash in on an earmark for his home district… Did you see Rick’s concession speech in NV ? It looked like he was in the check out lobby of a rental car agency…30 people there clapping at the most. Woe to the whole AM radio clan of hosts for peddling this flimsy decoy Rick to wedge a back door nomination of Romney. Such a cowardly deed at a time of severe need.

      Just because he was at some tea party rallies, doesn’t make him a “conservative”, not by any stretch! He’s supported and still supports the individual mandate, he said recently that he would grow the State Dept. by 50%, he believes in global warming, attacked captialism and voted for the Dept. of Education, none of which are conservative ideals!
      I’m sickened by the so called “tea party” backing of this hack and I am truly baffled by Palins backing! I guess that the conservative movement has now drank that kool aid that makes you think because someone keeps saying they’re a “conservative”, even though their record and words speak to the contrary, that they automactly become one! Hmmm…where have we heard something simular to this before?? Oh yea, the left uses this tactic all the time, when lying about what those on the Right say and do. Nice job!

    I will not vote for Romney and I will not vote for Gingrich. There are too many conservatives in this country for either of them to be the candidates. There are too many of us who will not compromise our freedom for bloviating and pontificating politicians. Obama has no chance of beating a united Republican Party, but this party will not unite under the banner of a big government blowhard.

    If Paul or Santorum do not end up the candidate for Presidency, Obama will have a chance. And I will not compromise my vote, ever again, for a candidate just because he has an (R) after his or her name. I will write in my votes from now until the day I die if it comes down to it, but I will not be spoon fed a choice of different flavors of socialism.

      Amen! If people just stepped back for one honest second and REALLY looked , they would see that out of the 4 that only 2 are a stark contrast to bo. The other 2 are just mirror images–especially Newt. It would scare the crap out of the establishment to have either Ron or Rick. I believe both compared to BO would shine and the GOP may finally return to the people, if not create a true third party majority.
      If your skin didn’t crawl after listening to Newt tonight and make you wonder what the hell is really going on in his head, then maybe you (Newt lovers) need to really start reevaluating your real values, ethics and judgements.       I agree. So far Newt is the only who’s stated HOW he is going to change things in D.C. Newt gave a speech that gave people something to look forward to that was tangible. Pretty soon people will start to see between Gingrich and Romney that Gingrich is the better choice between the two.

      How? I agree we are buried, but how has he delineated the process of how? Ron Paul can’t cut the Trillions in spending based on enthusiasm…..and he only has 7% of that as well.

      Even if Gingrich, Romney and Obama were all to die suddenly, Ron Paul would still not get elected. It’s not his 90% correct that turns people off, it’s the 10% nuts that does.

      Truthfully, I think it‘s the choice of vice president that’ll decide this election. It won’t matter who the Republican nominee will be.

      I think it is Minnesota .. (could be Maine .. one of those M states) that Gingrich is not on the ballot .. it will be Romney vs Santorum .. if Santorum can pull it off and win could change the WHOLE primary. I will be watching and helping to fund his campaign.

      Do your research. Gingrinch, by pushing both NAFTA and GATT on us, has caused our current fiscal mess and cost our nation way too many jobs. When asked about NAFTA back last March, 03/15/2011 – Gingrinch said that NAFTA worked because it created jobs in Mexico. I will vote 3rd party if Gingrich gets the nod, but now I believe he won‘t and I’ll continue on my plan to pinch my nose with both hands and pull the lever with my elbow for Romney (but still hope Santorum takes the lead; always can hope can’t I. lol). :)

      Beck made this easy with Restoring Honor by helping different religions (protestant, catholic, mormon, jewish) stand together. That was holding Romney back, people’s distrust of his religion. That is now gone. Clear sailing to the general election to meet Obama.

      Glenn thinks that beating obummer is going to be easy. The republican party knows that it is not going to be that is why they are saving people for 2016 like rubio, christie,steele.they know that the dems will win this unless someone with real solutions can take it to him. Newt is that guy. But to be honest the dems will win anyway because they have the trump card Hilary. She runs with him they get 60% easy because even conservative women will vote for her.

    I love how the blaze misquotes Newt…he did not say he would pledge his “life and fortune” but rather ” I pledge to you my life, my fortune and my sacred honor.” Which is derived from the Declaration of Independence. “And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.” But that might sound too good coming from the candidate that the media keeps on trashing…shame on you Blaze!

      Forgiveness, the best thing that happened to Newt, and the best thing that happened to me. He doesn’t try to hide that he messed up, only someone who hasn’t tasted forgiveness would do that. He is the only one who has a chance to not only beat Obama, but to begin the restoration of this nation.

    If you care to listen to Romney’s flip flopping, if you don’t care neither do I. I’ll vote 3rd party or not vote at all. I’m not voting for liberal left vs liberal right. I will NOT go this route ever again.

      No, we have the blind “hope and change” wanna be conservatives, unwilling to do their own real homework voting to keep the sham, newt, in the race. Here’s one for the tea party folks that think newt is gonna save the country. Like earmarks? Bet you would give your eye teeth to make sure that the person that created the system to implement them into bills to go unchecked never got a chance to serve in office again. Right? Before good ol Newt, it used to have to go through committee, you know check and balance, but since his little system of paying off the voter was started way back then, we have had earmarks like nothing ever seen before. That’s what a progressive does. Try and remove earmarks from the system. Can’t. And that is just a smidgen of his past politics. Open you eyes and look. for goodness sake, do your own freakin research, unless you just would rather not know.

      Here’s a more recent progressive “solution” from Newt, straight from his website: Replace the Environmental Protection Agency, which has become a job-killing regulatory engine of higher energy prices, with an “Environmental Solutions Agency”

      Huh? Replace one big gov bureaucracy for another one? No thanks Newt. Newt is an elite CFR think tank progressive. Period.

      Agreed. It’s not just a two-man race because Newt “declares it so” – or Romney – or the media – or anyone else. Still have more states to go for crying out loud! People are talking as if one or the other has already WON! LOL

      Uh, I think maybe I’d like some other states to count in this too–ya know??? lol

      This was a predicted win. Romney had LOTS of money to spend in FL – for that matter, Newt spent a lot, too. Lots of retired NY folk in FL. Just sayin’ . . .
