Gingrich: Justice Dept wants to

(The Blaze/AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich blasted the Justice Department for blocking a South Carolina voter identification law and suggested the Obama administration wants to “steal elections.”

During a campaign stop in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the former House speaker questioned why Attorney General Eric Holder is “so determined not to identify if people are not eligible to vote”

Gingrich went on to say that, “you have to ask, why is it that they are desperate to retain the ability to steal elections and I think that’s what it comes down to.”

The Justice Department recently rejected South Carolina’s law requiring voters to show photo ID at polling places as discriminatory against minorities. Republicans argue stricter voter ID laws are needed to avert voter fraud.

The South Carolina primary is Jan. 21.

Gingrich’s once promising campaign has derailed over the last month, especially in key early caucus Iowa where frequent attack ads against Gingrich have sent the former Speaker of the House from first to fourth place in polls over the last month.

      How Will Illegal Criminal Aliens And Dead People Be Able To Vote If ID Is Required.

      If no one knows who is voting then voting no longer means anything. Obama is taking away our right to vote in the States he needs to win. In the States Obama does not need, voting will be controlled.

      The Government has declared war on the American people so what does voting have to do with anything anymore. Everyone is so eager to obey illegal laws.

    I had to show ID to buy the orange box of Mucinex behind the counter at Walgreens ….. Doctor’s offices are increasingly asking for ID to combat insurance fraud ….. I even had to show an ID to sign my child up for little league.

    But … oh … how horrid if someone has to show one to VOTE. Is this Administration also against people having to show ID if they lose their food stamp/debit card & need a replacement?

      Look…..Why would we not want to ensure the integrity of elections? Tell me. It is, after all, the cornerstone of our Republic.
      How many times in the past have you read of elections in third-world countries that have been completely rigged for only one outcome? How many times?

      Now, third-world elections have come to America. You can thank your friends and neighbors for being apathetic towards the continued destruction of everything America stands for. Freedom to work without being forced to pay union dues, freedom to board a plane with out being strip-searched, freedom to own guns and carry them, freedom to mention God at graduation ceremonies, the list goes on and on!

Hells bells, one is required to buy alcohol, cigs, to fly and in ALL cases to get freekin’ FOOD STAMPS to include other kinds of welfare….but hell no, no bitching in those cases. Eric Holder should be slapped under the jail for HIS continuing bull s-it with Obama in the same cell. Joe and Jane six packs in this country are getting fed up with this crap.       Just have our gov‘t include the recipient’s picture on those food stamp “credit/debit” cards (you know, the cards that have the American flag draped across it). ANYONE can get a picture ID, they just don’t want to make the effort.

    The only thing I agree 100% with Newt on. doj is doing everything they can to pave the way for obamas re-election.     You cannot buy a beer without showing you are at least 21! I am 54 & I get “carded” at Walmart when I buy alcohol. You can’t write a check for anything at any store without a valid ID. You can’t board an airplane without ID. You can’t view an R rated movie if you look under the age of 17 without an ID. The list goes on, but rest assured that in the United States you can apply for welfare, get an abortion and exercise the right to elect the people who run this country with NO proof as to your age or who you are!!!

    Don’t people need an ID to get food stamps or unemployment checks? How about a job? There’s something very fishy about any American who thinks requiring a photo ID to vote is in any way discriminatory. Obama said he felt the courts should be more active in formulating legislation … and here we are … discriminating against those productive citizens who follow the rules and favoring of those who don’t.     If Holder can keep getting publicity for things like votrer registeration, photo ID at the p, suits against states that inforce or reinforce federal immigration law, suing Sheriff Joe for supposed civil rights violations of illegal aliens, he hoppes to allow illegal voting for Obumbler and take attention away from himself for lying to congress and his envolvement in Fast and Furious.
    This is the crookedest administration in human memory, they will lie, cheat, make false arrests ignore the Bill or Rights, anything to stay in power.       You forgot to read the article. Turned out one of the folks working to get the necessary votes to get Newt’s name on the ballot was a Lefty plant (along with Perry most likely) and the forgings were done to keep his name off the ballot. What a better plan than anything, get forged names into the ballot so that when it is verified they are found to be false and purposely defraud his chances. It is a perfect Saul Alynski plan. They did the same thing in California to prevent an amendment from being added to the ballot and it worked then, too.

      First of all, in 2008 when all the candidates qualified in Virginia, they did not compare those who signed with a database of registered voters. They were only checking to see if the forms were completed properly. Newt hired people to collect the signatures and they solicited signatures from people who were not registered voters. He had no way of knowing that. The same thing with Perry. Romney and Paul have had their organizations in place since they ran in 2008 so they were not under the same time constraints. The AG has intervened in Virginia and there is no charge of fraud against Gingrich or Perry – just and unrealistic requirement that differs from years past in that this year they verified registered voters.

    Tell me..why does SC not have to show ID.. I have lived in two states and both required my ID when I went to vote, and that is at levels of Government>> what makes SC so special… if I agree with anything from Newt it would be this.. it is bullcrap that people can‘t afford ID’s or drivers licenses.. go to any of these peoples homes and you will see big screen tv’s, computers.. etc.. they just don‘t choose to spend their money on ID’s..       If you have to pay for the ID/drivers license, then there is a legal argument that the law requiring a drivers license acts as a poll tax, which is illegal.

      You are correct that he quit because of the racism in the DOJ. They are exacting revenge over long-ago-ended voting-rights violations against Blacks.
      Holder has so much hatred against this country, so much hatred against Whites. His boss has the same hatred.
      They have filled the DOJ’s civil-rights division and its sibling, the ‘voters section’, with so many racially-motivated Blacks with a score to settle that Obama will win re-election in 2012.

    The DOJ just reeks with corruption. The whole thing needs to be scrapped.
