Gingrich Slams Media for Trying to Create Infighting Among Republicans to ‘Protect’ Obama

During Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told Politico moderator John Harris that he believes the media want to encourage infighting among Republicans in order to smooth the way for President Obama’s reelection.
Gingrich stated: “I for one and I hope that all of my friends up here are going to repudiate every effort of the news media to get Republicans to fight each other, to protect Barack Obama who deserves to be defeated. And all of us are committed as a team. Whoever the nominee is, we are all for defeating Barack Obama.”

Posted on September 7, 2011 at 10:10pmGingrich got such a media bash … he really sounded the most presidential but didn’t get many questions … that’s whatcha get when MSNBC does a Republican with Politico doing the questions … why did anybody agree to that? All sounded great … Perry is over most voters’ heads and Bachmann sounds presidential too … no decisions made tonight, but there is a good field … oh ya … let’s send kudos to Cain as well!

Posted on September 7, 2011 at 10:34pma) Newt is not really running for President. He’s just raising money so he can spend it running for President.
b) We all can only hope there are differences between the Republican’s running for the nomination. If there isn’t, either they are all false, or we should just flip a coin. Or, in this case, roll a die. Believe me, as the field is narrowed and if the race is tight, the fighting will begin.
Nice applause line though.

I know anyone would be better that Obama. At least we would not keep going down. But I want someone who knows how to remedy this problem
with the least amount of harm and sacrifice to the Country.

The media and leftist ilk must be shown the days of bullying with their double standards are over. The enemy is Emperor Obama, fringe media, special interests and radical leftist machine behind them all.

Posted on September 8, 2011 at 6:05am1. Education — Gingrich backed federal education funding from his earliest days in office, though the Constitution gives absolutely no authority over education to any branch of the federal government. He helped garner support to create President Jimmy Carter’s Department of Education in 1979. Since then educational spending has soared while educational standards have plummeted. Things got worse when he was Speaker. In 1996, then-Republican Party Chairman Haley Barbour bragged that “education spending went up under the Republican Congress as much as it went up under the Democratic Congress.” That is a bit of an understatement since Gingrich’s Republican Congress increased education funding by $3.5 billion in 1996, the largest single increase in history.
2. Foreign Aid — Gingrich voted numerous times throughout his 20 years in Congress to increase and expand unconstitutional foreign aid and trade. He supported both subsidized trade with the Soviets and federally funded loans to foreign governments through the Export-Import Bank. Between 1994 and 1995, Gingrich voted for $44.8 billion in foreign aid. He also helped push through federally funded loan guarantees to China. Today, that murderous communist regime is the largest holder of U.S. debt in the world.

Posted on September 8, 2011 at 6:06am3. NAFTA and GATT — In 1993, Gingrich proved himself invaluable to Clinton and the Democrats in Congress when he garnered enough Republican support to pass the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the precursor for development of an eventual North American Union, following the same trajectory that has occurred in Europe with the emergence of the EU. (See the October 15, 2007 “North American Union” issue of The New American, especially “NAFTA: It’s Not Just About Trade” by Gary Benoit.) The next year he followed suit by supporting the creation of the World Trade Organization (WTO). As Minority Whip, he could have postponed the lame-duck vote on GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) that subjected Americans to the WTO. Gingrich’s Benedict Arnold act helped to hand over the power to regulate foreign commerce, a power reserved in the Constitution to Congress alone, to an internationally controlled body, making America’s economic interests entirely at the mercy of the WTO.
Gingrich knew GATT sounded the death knell for American sovereignty. In testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee prior to the lame-duck session, he said, “We need to be honest about the fact that we are transferring from the United States at a practical level significant authority to a new organization…. This is not just another trade agreement. This is adopting something which twice, once in the 1940s and once in the 1950s, the U.S. Congress rejected…. It is a

Posted on September 8, 2011 at 6:07amOther areas of the Contract With America dealt with measures to reduce welfare programs and relieve tax burdens on families and businesses. That sounds good until one considers that the Constitution prohibits welfare programs and taxes that the Contract proposed only to reduce. If Gingrich had been loyal to his oath of office, he would have worked not to trim but to purge them. Ironically, but hardly surprisingly, federal spending in all the areas addressed by the 1994 Contract rose in subsequent years. Edward H. Crane, president of the Cato Institute, observed that “the combined budgets of the 95 major programs that the Contract With America promised to eliminate have increased by 13%.” Crane also pointed out, “Over the past three years the Republican-controlled Congress has approved discretionary spending that exceeded Bill Clinton’s requests by more than $30 billion.”
Another of the problems with the Contract was that it called for stronger federal crime-fighting measures, despite the Constitution’s prohibition on federal involvement in police matters outside of piracy and treason. Countries that do not have such strict constitutional safeguards on federal police end up with Gestapos, KGBs, and Departments of Homeland Security.
5. School Prayer Amendment — The proposed balanced budget amendment was not Gingrich’s only attempt to change the Constitution. He also pushed hard for a school prayer amendment to allow America’s children to pray in schools.

Report Post »In 1994, Gingrich described himself as “a conservative futurist.” He said that those who were trying to define him should look no further than The Third Wave, a 1980 book written by Alvin Toffler. The book describes our society as entering a post-industrial phase in which abortion, homosexuality, promiscuity, and divorce are perfectly normal, even virtuous. Toffler penned a letter to America’s “founding parents,” in which he said: “The system of government you fashioned, including the very principles on which you based it, is increasingly obsolete, and hence increasingly, if inadvertently, oppressive and dangerous to our welfare. It must be radically changed and a new system of government invented — a democracy for the 21st century.” He went on to describe our constitutional system as one that “served us so well for so long, and that now must, in its turn, die and be replaced.”

Posted on September 8, 2011 at 12:07pmIn my opinion, Newt was one of the few candidates that articulated specific sound ideas and not platitudes (like Huntsman). However, Newt would best serve his country by being a top advisor to whomever wins the presidency. Just like the last debate, Newt knew exactly what the media was going to try to accomplish, and he called them on it. You may recall his confrontation with Chris Wallace (Fox News) when Chris brought up the gotchya question about Newt’s campaign staffers resigning? You don’t have to be a genius to look ahead to a debate and guess what red meat the media will go for. In the end, the media is interested in ratings. Discourse=Ratings.

He won me over. Although I will critize Romney and Perry and Huntsman as HORRIBLE RINOs, I will vote for them to avoid another 4 years of Obama.
But, I FEAR that ObamaCare will NOT be repealed under Perry (he is a liar) and Romney ADMITTED on stage he only wants to “give state waivers from ObamaCare” NOT repeal it. Those waivers will be taken away by the very next liberal president. ObamaCare NEEDS TO BE REPEALED

Plenty of people will vote against Obama…but let’s not start the dam 3rd party thingy or we get Obama for another 4 years.

Posted on September 7, 2011 at 9:11pmI literally whooped and applauded when Gingrich said that (even though I’m all by myself here at home)! Many of us feel that way and wish more would proclaim it on a national platform. I know NG has nothing to lose since his poll numbers are so low, and he’s certainly NOT my guy, but I sure have been proud of his answers during the debates.

Posted on September 8, 2011 at 10:32pmI would like to see all Canidates make no comments about the other ones: don’t they think we have the ability to evaluate each ONE and select the one to defeat O>Bama.
I am just an average Joe plumer, electrician., carpenter, Space Worker I have worked all these position and believe I have the ability to evaluate the canidates without having to listen to them talk about everyone more than their selves. Just give us your evaluation of how you can SAVE AMERICA and let us evaluate all the rest as well. There are A LOT MORE TO DO TO BRING THIS GREAT COUNTRY BACK TO IT’S KNEES: other than just removing Obama. For instance One must stop the Unions from sending all these jobs overseas and running op our STATES and American debts. They have been doing it since 1952. That is when I graduated from Etowah High School and I reckonized it then. I worked under unions in all these trades listed above and tried to tell them they were destroying America with policy of give, give to me and to heck with all the rest. Yes regulations are not the only isssue when it comes to sending JOBS overseas.
So Mister .PRESIDENT of 2012 just tell me (HOW YOU ARE GOING TO ACCOMPLISH THIS REQUEST) and leave to us the job of sorting it all out amoung all of you. I believe you all are great Americans: but, I also believe we have enough great american out here to do our job: so, just trust us.
