For those who‘ve followed Newt Gingrich’s campaign appearances, you may or may not recall hearing the “Rocky III” theme song accompany the GOP firebrand along his various stops. But, what was intended to be a rousing battle call for Gingrich supporters, has instead turned into a lawsuit.
Yes, “Rude Music Inc.,“ the company that owns the rights to the 1982 song ”Eye of the Tiger” is claiming Gingrich had no right to use the song as part of his campaign. According to TMZ, the company, owned by a member of the band Survivor, filed the suit today in federal court in Illinois claiming the former House Speaker hijacked the famed song to further his own political agenda.
According to the lawsuit, Gingrich has been using the song at various political events since 2009.
RMI is asking a judge to order Gingrich and his team to stop using the song immediately and is also seeking unspecified damages.

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 1:09amWhy don’t Glenn just rename this blog, the blaze and the radio and GBTV programs the Bash Newt Network? Yes, Newt has issues but no more than Romney. When is the endless hours of Romney Bashing going to start. When is the full programs on Mitts Big Government leadership in Massachusetts going to air. If the truth really has no agenda then Beck must be lying because he has one!

Posted on January 31, 2012 at 3:15amGlenn supports Romney so much that he has never come on his radio or GBTV shows. You obviously don’t listen to Glenn with your ears open or you would know that Rick Santorum is his choice and he, Pat and Stu just say it over and over. As a matter of fact, he had Rick on today. How people continue to accuse Glenn of supporting Mitt baffles me and I do listen to all of his shows. I haven’t missed one since before GBTV went on line on 9-12. I watch the radio shows and all of the other shows on demand on Roku at my convenience. If it comes down to Mitt and Newt, it will be a toss up for him because both are progressives and he knows what progressives have done to this country. He has stated many times that he doesn’t trust Romney but he thinks the GOP machine will go for him. Newt continues to align his views with the four most progressive Presidents. I haven’t heard Romney say so, but maybe he does the same. Both are big government guys, but any one of the four would not cause the massive harm as has our current POTUS.

Romney has never come on any of the shows so how is Glenn supporting him? Yes, both of them are Mormons but so is Huntsman and he didn’t support John, Jr. either. I have watched every single GBTV show, including the radio shows, and I have until yet to hear him support Romney. Glenn, Pat and Stu all support Rick.

I wont be voting for newt when it gets to my state, but i have heard enough about how much glenn dislikes him. Whenever newt is in the running glenns radio show never shuts up about it. A couple hours almost every day they are talking about newt. Look, i dont like the guy, but now i sympathize with him because you guys make me. I think it is like reverse psychology. They really want us all to support him. So they bash him until we are all like “poor guy, i’ll give him my apology vote”. Its crazy. Where i am from, they wont stop talking about joe paterno’s funeral. While i love the guy, i have to turn the local news off because i cant take another word about it. Its already drug into the ground. Same with beck and newt. Okay glenn, you think he is the worst polition ever because of who he was 15 years ago. Last time i checked wasnt glenn an alkie 15 years ago. So if glenn ran for office would he then have to bash himself… See there i go again defending newt. I dont want to, it just happens. Because of all the newt bashing.

Posted on January 30, 2012 at 11:51pmI want to set something straight, Gingrich has been whining about the attacks by Romney, whining that he is spending millions, whining that they are false and negative. It was Gingrich that threw the first stone. Gingrich said Romney was no conservative and blasted him as a moderate at Nov 28, 2011. Romney was asked if he was going to respond and an aide said, wait for the debate. They were criticized for not responding. So the next day Romney spoke back questioning Gingrich and then released his first ad, Gingrich returned an ad right after the first debate with Gingrich as front runner. From that point they have continually gotten worse and Gingrich have been found to be filled with the most false information and the most negative. Voters in Florida were polled about who was the most negative and Gingrich took a large lead releasing the most negative ads.
GINGRICH LIKES TO WHINE ABOUT NEGATIVE ATTACK ADS BUT HE HAS NEVER BEEN COMPLETELY POSITIVE ALWAYS DISCOUNTING ROMNEY AS A CONSERVATIVE. That is an attack. It has been proven that Romney is a Conservative (www.TeaPartyForRomney.com) there is no question, how much is another concern, but way more than Gingrich. I would even say, just as much as Santorum though.

Posted on January 30, 2012 at 11:11pmActually… I think all honest conservatives agree that you can’t take something without paying for it.
But what you‘re seeing here isn’t any serious flip-flopping in ideology, so much as it is a bunch of angry team Gingrich fans, whose team being hit with a technical foul is now rushing the floor in fit of passionate rage to defend their “guy”. Once the adrenaline wears off and they come to their senses, they’d all agree that (and especially against another candidate) they’d completely support a lawsuit for unpaid royalties.
Goes to show just how alike politics and competitive sports are — teams (and candidates) are out to beat each other, not to defend the game itself; fouls are really only good strategies that the ref happened to catch you at; and fans don’t really care how dirty the game gets as you keep winning…
And honestly, it’s difficult to say which (competitive sports or politics) has polluted the other worse… :P
