‘Glee’ Actress Jane Lynch Joins Others in Launching Super PAC to Support Pro-Lesbian Political Candidates

Super PACs seem to be all the rage these days. First, there was Stephen Colbert and his “Americans Better Tomorrow, Tomorrow” super PAC and now there’s LPAC, an organization that will support pro-lesbian candidates. The group was founded by prominent women, including former professional tennis player Billie Jean King and “Glee” actress Jane Lynch.

Screen shot from the LPAC web site
LPAC will promote candidates — both Democrats and Republicans, males and females and gays and straights — who support lesbians. Rather than simply promoting candidates at state and federal levels, LPAC will financially back ballot measures. Here’s an official description from the group’s web site:
PAC is a Political Action Committee, formed by a group of committed activists and donors, to positively influence the current political and social landscape. After decades of being a small subset of players in women’s rights and LGBT rights political efforts, the women of LPAC are stepping up to get organized like never before, aiming to give lesbians a real and meaningful seat at the table. With significant resources behind us, LPAC plans to make a true impact for lesbians in the 2012 election cycle and beyond.
LPAC will support candidates who champion a range of issues that impact lesbians and their families, these include:
- Ending discriminatory treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals and their families;
- Supporting sexual and reproductive freedom and women’s access to quality healthcare; and,
- Furthering social, racial, and economic justice for all Americans.

"Glee's" Jane Lynch (AP)
LPAC hopes to raise $1 million for the 2012 presidential election campaign. Interestingly, according to the Huffington Post, the group also has the support of Laura Ricketts, who is the daughter of GOP businessman Joe Ricketts (he recently was embroiled in a major controversy surrounding Rev. Jeremiah Wright and a controversial anti-Obama campaign proposal).
Here’s an infographic from LPAC that explains the purported attacks that are being waged against women:

“Women’s voices get lost a lot and get overshadowed in almost all settings, so I think there‘s a real opportunity here to engage women who haven’t been engaged before — for lesbians, in particular, to speak for ourselves about the issues that are important to us and to define those issues in our own words,” explained LPAC spokeswoman Sarah Schmidt in an interview with Huffington Post. “It’s a chance to really have a seat at the table when these critical issues are being discussed and the policy is being developed.”
While the group says it’s open to Republicans — and while Schmidt claims she hopes to find GOP candidates to support — it’s not likely in the near-term. As stated, the LPAC web site is claiming that women’s rights are under attack — a statement that seems to align with the “war on women” mantra the Democratic Party has been using of late. And the GOP’s more negative stance against gay marriage, of course, also impacts this sentiment.

For many women it’s not about pregnancy, the birth control pill is used to regulate hormones and can treat things like acne and anxiety. If you recall Sandra Fluke wasn’t speaking for herself wanting birth control, she was speaking about a friend that used it for hormonal therapy and it was not covered by her insurance. Even post menopausal women use it even though they can’t get pregnant.

Actually, I see no reason why the LGBT community should be excluded from a small government, lower taxes movement.
Conservatism has nothing to do with religion (lifestyle), but religion may have something to do with conservatism. People seem to want to make the tent smaller. I’m not one of them.

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 3:12pmWhat’s surprising about PACs becoming a $billion industry like lobbying. Karly Rove, Sarah Palin and the like live very well off of PAC money and have as much concern for the outcome of what they do as the average lobbyist. The fact that the target groups have something in common with their personal ideology is a bonus. But make no mistake about it…..It is all about the money. Like they lobbyists, they will say and do whatever the big money interests (wealthy and large corporations) want them to. Does anyone really believe Sarah Palin is an astute political analyst???

Report Post »Lesbian Packing Hollow Points
Posted on July 11, 2012 at 10:38amNot all contraceptives are PURELY used for contraceptive purposes. Most are just hormone regulators and treat a host of other maladies which are relieved by hormonal adjustments.
There are also many places and people who are of the ill conceived opinion that all a lesbian needs to go straight is a little remedial rape, a.k.a. she just hasn’t yet met the right man— who would rape her. Insuring that such an assault and battery would not result in an unwanted pregnancy is a good thing.

When they are needed for hormonal reasons, then they are no longer ‘birth control’ pills. Maybe they should be given another name in that case. That‘s like saying condoms aren’t for birth control, they are AIDS prevention devises, which may be true, but it is an example of the left changing the definition until they find one that is acceptable. The ultimate reason for use is the important reason. A condom worn by a homosexual man is not considered birth control, neither is ‘the pill’ taken by homosexual women considered birth control.
Women are not being denied access to birth control. It is against some religions conscience to pay for them, but women are not being denied them.

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 11:27amBROTHER-ED…don’t kid yourself. Male homosexuals comprise over 55% of new HIV cases in this country each year. This is from less than 2% of the population. Do the math…they’re not using “AIDS CONTROL DEVICES”..they getting AIDS or HIV because of their dangerous practices and then demanding “free” health care services. Here in Los Angeles there are billboards everywhere advertising “Free” HIV screenings. Then these same clowns and their advocates turn around and try to convince you that they’re just like you and me..no differrent. You and I don‘t need constant HIV screenings because our sexual habits dont’ put us at that great a risk of contracting it.
Report Post »You think this is all? There are phone apps available for male and female homosexuals to get instant sex partners..no strings..no names..no nothing. Just tell them what you’re into, meet at a predetermined place and go at it. Then they wonder why they’re most of the HIV cases in the country.
The “put on a condom” campaign hasn’t worked which blows the whole “education is key” argument out of the water. Male homosexuals cannot control their unnatural urges they will always be the disproportionate number of HIV cases.
The sooner we can state that homosexuality is abberrant behaviour and is a detriment to the species, a dead end, without being vilified for it, the more honest a discussion we can have about it. Untill then it’s idiots like this GLEE banana and her delusions that control the

She’s allowed to collect money and support the causes she believes in, just as anyone else is.
But, once she embraces the idea of a SuperPAC, she can’t then go out and argue against “big money” in politics.
Wonder what the reaction would be if I started a Heterosexual SuperPAC?
And seriously, her goal isn’t the $1 Million she hoes to raise, it’s all the free publicity she hopes to get for her cause by announcing her SuperPAC. Such an emotionally-charged group in Hollywood should be able to raise the $1 Million inside of a week.

Posted on July 11, 2012 at 10:17amI find their “pay equity” argument specious – the legislation they are complaining about had nothing to do with ensuring equal pay for men and women, it was about redefining/extending the statute of limitations as it applies to the enforcement of existing pay equity laws.
Let me repeat that – “existing pay equity laws.”
If an employee discovers they are earning less than a co-worker, and the only difference is their gender current laws on the book allow the employee to file a claim with the EEOC/Dept of Labor.

Report Post »N37BU6
Posted on July 11, 2012 at 11:43amNo, commies are using all oppressed (or seemingly oppressed) groups to push through their agenda. Gays are not communist. Some communists are just gay. It’s a huge distinction.
A legitimate push for gay rights – with the commie propaganda cut out – something that CONSERVATIVES could champion – would disarm this whole thing. Imagine conservatives giving LIBERTY to gays… it would be amazing. The libs would hate it, and conservatism could shed all the needless negativity.
The “slippery slope” argument doesn’t hold water either. Just because something can be redefined doesn’t mean humanity is going to sink into insanity and allow people to marry anything they want, any way they want. Allowing one argument doesn’t mean all others are automatically accepted. That’s a ridiculous argument. Look at how big of a movement gay rights has become. Can you imagine one this big for people who want to marry a lamp? And even if someone does want to marry a lamp… who cares? Seriously. Who does it hurt? People like that are going to do their thing regardless.
I just see conservatism losing over and over again because conservatives don’t know how to prioritize, or seize opportunity. TAKE the power back. All you have to do is get over yourself and give people the liberty to live how they want, as long as it doesn’t step on anyone else.
Or just continue forcing all gays to be Democrats… whatever. Cling onto your control issues right to the very end, when you’re defeated.
