Glenn Beck’s Take on the Financial Cost of Occupy Wall Street

The Blaze has written extensively on the financial cost of the Occupy Wall Street movement. But how bad is it really?

As noted earlier, the Zuccotti park protests have cost local shops, restaurants, and cafes a little over $479,400 in lost business. And this doesn’t even take into account the extra cost in staff overtime (“Stubborn occupiers, for example, often hold impromptu meetings inside coffee shop Pret a Manger, forcing workers to stay hours past closing time”) and paying for extra toilet paper, cleaning supplies and repairs because “the tent dwellers turn bathrooms into personal washrooms.”

Think that’s bad?

Consider the fact that this is just one demonstration in a nationwide movement. What do you suppose the Occupy protests are costing cash-strapped cities like Philadelphia and Oakland?

Outside of the financial loss suffered by businesses because of the protests, think of the public cost. Consider the astronomical amount it is costing taxpayers to pay police and other public employees to work overtime because many of the demonstrations have become unruly and violent.

And the financial repercussions get worse.

As written earlier on The Blaze, Occupy’s most recent plans to “Occupy Black Friday” could cost thousands, if not millions, more in lost business.

On a side note: perhaps Occupy organizers don’t realize that if stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods or Wal-Mart lose millions on Black Friday because of a general boycott, the repercussion for executives and CEOs will be either a pay cut or no Christmas bonus — but the situation will be far worse for the middle class Americans who work at these stores. Usually, whenever a major company posts a loss, the most effective and cost-cutting method to combat lagging sales is to layoff staff. So who really feels the effect of a retail boycott on Black Friday?

But wait! There’s more!

The Occupy movement has extended as far as to cause uncertainty in the markets. So much so, in fact, that even when a meager slice of good news comes out, it fails to generate any sort of rally or confidence in investors:

Initial jobless claims came in lower than expected at 388,000 for the week ending November 12, down from 390,000 in the week prior, a figure that was the lowest since April . . . However, with the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and around the world grabbing headlines, and Europe continuing to be at the forefront of business and economic news, U.S. economic data just wasn’t enough to buoy markets.

It would seem that the Occupy movement — which supposedly fights for the “99%” — by protesting major stores and scaring the markets, will most likely result in more layoffs and unemployment for, well, the “99%”

To help sort out all the details and really understand the implications and financial cost of the Occupy movement, Glenn Beck took the opportunity to address it specifically on GBTV.

See what he has to say about the supposedly unintended financial consequences of a nationwide movement that wants to “fix” income inequality in America:

Everyone, I mean everyone needs to read Aftershock if you don’t believe Glen. You will see exactly what is coming your way and its coming soon. And, Liberals still believe in big government and outrageous spending. Glen is right. Prepare yourselves. That is the message I am relating to everyone I know – to no avail I am afraid. You need food and barter items. Oh yeah, you had better arm yourselves because the likes of the OWS idiots will be heading to your neighborhoods.

Of course, the OWS “people” is all by design – by the New World Order, George Soros, the leader – and all who believe in a New World Order – Open Society !! This has all been approved by Obama, his radical left – all the liberal organizations such as MoveOn.Org., Code Pink, Crime Inc. SEIU, Tides Foundation, The Unions, etc. They are all entwined with Soros, the great one, with the money !
These people are being used – for the sole purpose of destroying whatever they can, buildings, parks, business’s, jobs for the working people in the stores whose business’s are ruined. How are the cities going to pay for all the damage, the end result will be the taxpayers – the middle class- one way to get the money out of the hands of the people – .. AND, Obama is going around the country saying we need JOBS, JOBS, pass the JOBS bill – and at the same time, he is allowing jobs to be destroyed !!!! He is a FIRST CLASS HYPOCRITE… IF he were a President standing up for our beloved America, he would CALL OFF HIS DOGS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Glenn, absolutely no surprise here.
OWS goals are to disrupt, dismay, discourage, and deny, denigrate and destroy.
So far, OWS 99 and The Rest of US 1.
The NFC West has a better record, and those teams are pitiful

PROOF THE OCCUPY WALL STREET MOVEMENT and all the other occupy events were created, paid for, and staged by the New World Order members! And they are proud of this deception and tell you in their own words! The communist members tell you how they did it

The International Socialist Organization is most definitely involved heavily in the OWS chaos. I hate to even call it a “movement” unless referring to it as the bowel movement it is. The leftist lamestream media blatantly supports the chaos. Backers – and they surely are Marxist – are using time-tested tactics:
      Mass protest
Harassing law enforcement and other officials
      Occupying buildings
      Dramatization
Blocking roads & entrances/exits to cities
      Overloading facilities
Causing hatred of “perceived” enemies (the enemies in this case are other Americans)
Dehumanization of enemies (referring to them as evil, vultures, etc)
Creating an “us against them” frenzy

These are just a few examples. Why hasn’t Homeland Security been called? Why is the federal government silent? We know why! And we must stand strong against these attacks against our nation.

I‘ve been reading Castro’s long, long bloated speech when he took over Cuba in, 1962 I think, after the successful Revolution. It’s like an Obama speech, surprisingly so, with the same ideas, just Obama doesn‘t come oput and say he’s a Marxist, like Castro did in that speech, opr mention Marxism and Lenin. But I‘ve seen about half a dozen phrases from Castro’s speech that I’ve heard Obama utter. Clearly, if you needed further proof Obama was a Marxist, well — here you go.

Marxism couldn’t take hold with Capitalism in place — they’ve tried for decades to undermine our Constitutional Republic, and these “No, not the face — I’m a bleeder!” Democrats would rather collapse the system and look innocent than go through a bloody Revolution, so they got to do what they are doing now with the financial system/Federal Reserve. Only thing thatwill remain the same: Once in power, they will kill the opposition forces so there is no opposition, and nobody with long standing in any area will have weight in the new order (that means you Nancy Pelosi; you should really taje time out of your busy Botox injections schedule and read what Castro did).

The day Obama will openly acknowledge his ties to Soros, Ayers and the Midwest Academy will occur in the Jan 20 2013 inaugeration address.
Then and only then, will the open truth be acknowledge. At that point, the Truth will NOT make us free.
We will have sold our birhtright, our honor and our freedom.
2012 election and the next and the next will either be the US Electorate salvation, recovery or the end of the US Republic.
Glenn, circa 2009, 2010 laid this out clearly. Now we are entering the Ice Laden fields of Dreams.
