Glenn Beck Deconstructs Media Lies About European Financial Crisis

If you’ve paid any attention to the media talking points surrounding the European Financial Crisis and why it shows that conservatives are absolutely, positively, undeniably and reliably unfit to govern, then you know that one of their favorite attack lines is that an austerity regime in America would turn America into Greece 2.0. “The Greeks tried it, and look at them,” the argument goes.
Glenn Beck, in his show today, took this extremely silly attack line apart while pointing out the systemic problems that are dragging Europe toward collapse. According to Glenn, the problem with European austerity isn’t that spending has been cut, it’s that spending has stayed steady while taxes have increased dramatically. Worse, unions and other left wing interest groups have shut down business completely in countries like Greece.
“You heard the President of the United States say this weekend that Germany has got to continue to bail these guys out. Would you do it?!” Glenn asked.
Watch Glenn rip in his segment below:

Posted on May 22, 2012 at 9:21amI’d like to respectfully refute & correct this article and Glenn’s piece, in regards to Austerity. One of my favorite papers, the Washington Examiner, has made similar arguments, here was the highlights of my response to that OpEd, as well as the false narrative of the Krugmans and the Keynesians:
Report Post »- The Left (and occasionally the Right) have adopted the false premise that Govt is the source of economic growth. As well as the false premise that Consumption proceeds Production. I can elaborate for those that disagree, but most on the Right understand these are economic fallacies.
What the Left, the Examiner, Beck, & my friends on the Right are getting wrong on austerity:
Decades of irresponsible borrowing/spending/distortion are being ignored, yet the last year of austerity in Europe is deemed a failure? I reject that premise. The teenager spending irresponsibly with the credit card is deemed a success; this is the Good Economy, the Good times. The teenager who decides to cut their bad spending habits is deemed a failure by the Left. The teenager who decides to start taking their income and putting it towards paying expenses, paying their obligations/bills, and paying down the credit card is deemed a failure by the Washington Examiner. I say Austerity is not a failure, it is simply the healthy but painful process of sobering up. I will continue just a bit further, as I want to refute a common economic fallacy held by my fellow Conservatives & Libertarians, out of characte

Yes, taxes are a burden on society.
Yes taxes are bad for the economy, however tax cuts without spending cuts are DANGEROUS. (i.e. the Bush Tax Cuts, including the payroll cuts supported by Obama). A government tax is a burden, but a government dollar spent without a tax is a GREATER burden. It is a future tax accompanied with interest on the borrowed money, & this policy leads to ruin, chaos, and disorder. And what is a Bush Stimulus Check or an Obama Stimulus Program, but wasted dollars spent towards the illogical premise that Consumption proceeds Production, when it is Production that actually proceeds Consumption! As a Conservative, I COMMEND the Europeans for having the courage to raise taxes, however I REBUKE them for Dishonesty & Class Warfare, and I rebuke them for not having the courage to implement MUCH more CUTS.
As Bastiat told us 150 years ago, we can have only TWO reasonable systems. One which the government does much, & therefore takes much from us in taxes. The other which government does little and takes little from us. However in America & other countries throughout the world and throughout history, we have created this third abomination, in which the People want the State to do much, but they also want the State to tax us little. Or tax someone else. Or “Starve the Beast” tactics. Or just go tax the wealthy when elementary math tells us this is not practical. Just so long as its not ME being taxed! CHILDISH.

Posted on May 22, 2012 at 1:16amCalifornia is our “Greece.” Decades of political correctness in California has caused millions of illegal aliens flooding into that state and then going on the public welfare roles for freebies. When California eventually falls, states like Nevada and Oregon need to put their national guard on the border with California to prevent those liberals, Marxists, and Bolsheviks from escaping to ruin other states like they did in CA. They made their bed, now they have to lie in it. Make Californians stay there and work out their problems. Don’t let anyone escape from that state to go and flood into other states and ruin them like they did California. I know it sounds mean, harsh, nasty, but it’s to prevent the rest of the US from falling like Cali. Let CA fall and let them fix their mess. No bailouts for California. California has been literally destroyed due to political correctness.

We used to be a Republic where wvery individual was in charge of their lives and if they did not do the right things to make their lives better, they fell and paid the consequences. They could pick themselves up and do better as they had the resources to fight for what was right and work hard to better themselves. aYou have heard the stories of millionaires losing everything, but getting their act together and becoming millionairs again. It is hard to do this today as we are in a Croni-Capitalistic society, where if you do not have money to get a kick start, you can never get ahead unless you are lucky. Hard work has nothing to do with it anymore. When are people going to wake up? We need to get back to being a Republic again. Does anyone, and I mean anyone understand what a Republic is anymore? I am thinking that everyone has been lured into an idea that a Democracy is a Republic and nobody knows the difference. You MUST ask yourself, what is a Republic, and what does it stand for? What is a Democracy, and what does it stand for? We live in a Democracy today and have not seen a Republic for decades. Democracy is a form of socialism. It is what our Founding Fathers fought against to gain true individual liberty. It is what makes every single one of us a better person individually. To be continued…

What sort of twisted world do you live in.
If you are saying Germany and others should stop bailing them out, I could understand that. Let them fall. It would have been easier 3 years ago, but now they are in so deep that Greece has power over them.
If you are saying Greece should tell everyone “Sorry, we aren’t going to pay you back”, then I would suggest that Germany (and the other creditors) have a right to take Greek assets and sell them to get their money back.
That’s what will happen. If you don’t pay your mortgage, you loose your house.

The plan was laid out for him and his minions by Saul Alinsky, and has been followed flawlessly. Increased debt, check; Increased welfare, check; Flood the voting roles with “dependants”, check; Open the borders, check; Attack social norms (Christianity, family unit, social values, morality), check; increase dependancy on state, check; control media, check; control education, check; control industry, check; control banking, check; all that is left to accomplish the takeover is an internal war….working on that now. Only one problem, the left has been unable to disarm the populace…..they tried with fast and furious, but failed miserably when it was uncovered. Time is fast approaching for the final showdown. It is not going to be pretty, and a LOT of innocent blood will be shed, but I believe that the TRUTH will prevail, the socialist dogs will be beaten, and this great nation will again be ONE NATION UNDER GOD!

Growing the economy by reducing regulations and evening the tax situation for business, vis a vis the rest of the world will create jobs and create a larger tax base. “Romney rejects Ron Paul-style austerity
May 7, 2012
By Seth McLaughlin
You can almost hear the collective gasp from Ron Paul’s loyal band of supporters.
Speaking Monday at a town hall style-meeting event in Cleveland, presumptive GOP presidential Mitt Romney plunged a fork into the idea that he could come around to embracing Mr. Paul’s call for deep cuts in federal spending.
“My job is to get America back on track to have a balanced budget. Now I’m not going to cut $1 trillion in the first year,” he said, distancing himself from Mr. Paul’s plan to slice more than a quarter of the estimated $3.8 trillion being spent by the the federal government.
Why not, someone in the crowd apparently asked, sparking a response from the former Massachusetts governor.
“The reason,” he explained, “is taking a trillion dollars out of a $15 trillion economy would cause our economy to shrink [and] would put a lot of people out of work.”
