Glenn Beck Describes His Medical Tests

For the most part, Glenn Beck knows what he doesn’t have: cancer, lupus, or secret Diet Coke nanobots eating through his system. On his radio show Wednesday, Beck updated his listeners regarding his stay at Utah’s Huntsman Cancer Institute over the last four days, and said his medical problems are not life-threatening.
Beck explained that he may have Raynaud’s disease (which could explain the lack of feeling in his hands and feet) and small fiber neuropathy, but didn’t speculate as to the cause of either. The Raynaud’s he described as “common,” while the neuropathy, he added, could be “kind of dicey.”
For now, doctors do not know what is causing partial paralysis of his vocal chords. But, Beck said, they think the issue could be a virus, instead of a problem with a “major nerve” in his head.
“I had two MRIs, two CAT scans and then I was going into the PET scan, and they said, ‘We’ve read all of the others we don’t think you have cancer,” Beck told listeners on Wednesday.
“I want you to know that I’m not dying,” he assured.
(Editor’s note: the above information was added as an update. The original story and the video clips are posted below.)
Needles, electric shock, and radioactive isotopes. Glenn briefly discussed his recent medical tests on Wednesday’s** radio program, while promising more details in the coming days (including what doctors did and didn’t find)*:
*UPDATE:
Glenn couldn’t keep his listeners in the dark for long, and decided to update them on what he may or may not have:
**The comments occurred on Wednesday’s radio show, not Monday’s as was originally reported.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 11:14amI’m guessing it is aspartame, from his diet soda he drinks. I had a family member who was extremely ill for years, and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong. She started with some of these same symptoms Glenn has experienced, and it evolved into something far more severe.
She couldn’t walk more than a few feet without resting, she couldn’t talk but for a whisper, and her eyesight was very bad, among many other serious health issues that arose over time. This is a girl who was very healthy before the symptoms started. She drank 2-3 diet Cokes a day and used other aspartame products like sweeteners in her coffee and sugar free gum. It took about a year for her health to come back, but now she is 100% healthy, with the only dietary change being no aspartame.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 12:07pm@Rogue comment on Aspartame … Possible, in my country of origin (and some other places) all drinks with aspartame carry warning label as to “do not consume more than 2 liters per day, larger amounts can be toxic”. Mr Beck by his own account does consume large amounts of Coke Zero which has this in it.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 2:30pmI have personally experienced aspartame poisoning myself. For me, it affected my memory. I thought that I was getting early onset Alzheimer’s in my 20s. I couldn’t remember the names of kids in my day care class, where I put my cars; I couldn’t even keep straight the characters in the Lord of the Rings movie as I was watching it. I would read a paragraph and couldn’t remember what I just read. After one weekend of not consuming aspartame, my memory slowly started to come back. I’ve been aspartame-free for six years now, and my memory is a lot better.
All of Glenn Beck’s symptoms are symptoms associated with aspartame poisoning. There are more than 92 of them. Would it really hurt him to switch to regular Coke for a week to test it out? Artificial sweeteners are actually worse than sugar for people that are trying to lose weight. I don’t think the vision can come back, but the numbness of the hands could start going away if that is the problem.
I also have a friend who used to black out about 30 or 40 times a month. It was aspartame poisoning. She stopped drinking Diet Coke, and now she only blacks out 7 or 8 times a year.

Posted on October 13, 2010 at 8:51pmPeople with Auto-Immune disorders are susceptible to Aspertame poisining and other side affects caused by this chemical. If Glenn has an auto-immune disorder the best thing he could do is to quit drinking that junk. I will not touch a diet drink no matter what sweetener it has in it. I have a recently diagnosed auto-immune disorder which can be deadly. I am not going to speed things along drinking a man made sweetner in a soda. I cannot blame sweetners for my condition since i have never liked diet drinks simply because they taste like a can full of chemicals.
