Go From Brown Eyes to Blue With a Little Laser Work

Doctor Experimenting With Eye Color Change Using LasersHave you wished you could swap your chocolate brown eyes of a pair of baby blues without the hassle of colored contacts? Even Dorothy wanted her brown eyes turned blue to match her gown. Permanent eye color change isn’t a new concept, but traditionally it involves surgery and an iris implant.

But a Laguna Beach, Calif., doctor is saying he has a more simple procedure that uses lasers. According to the local KTLA news report, Homer has been working on the technology for 10 years and its almost ready for the public:

But cosmetic preference is not the only reason Homer thinks people want to have this procedure done. He says that since eyes are the window to the soul people would prefer a lighter color that you can “see deeply into”.

” I think there is something very meaningful about this idea of having open windows to the soul,” Homer told KTLA.

According to the report, the cost for the procedure will be about $5,000. In terms of safety, Homer says they have several safety tests in place, but he accepts the fact that something unknown could happen later down the road after the procedure.

Someone is going to wonder what happened when a blue eyed couple has all brown eyed children.

There is no such thing as a little laser work. Just a wrong move and if the surface of the eye is damaged the least little bit, your vision can be seriously impaired.

What ever happened to loving oneself for what we are?We were made the way we are not to change but to effect change on the world with our good deeds.I could feed a lot of kids with 5000 dollars and buy them glasses that their families cant afford. But the rich will certainly make use of this new technology.Looks as if the Aryan brotherhood might just applaud this one.oh well…..

Actually, the Aryan Supremacists would HATE this technology because it hides a person’s true nature; in their mind it is a way for the inferior breeds to hide among the Master Race.

I have been an Optometrist for 16 years. I would NEVER suggest anyone have a procedure like this. I can only imagine the problems this procedure will produce i.e. Glaucoma, cataracts. This really scares me. Why would you risk your VISION for something so stupid??

You only get one pair of eyes people!! Treat them like the gift they are!

Why all the judgement? People spend far more than $5,000 on boob jobs, ear jobs, nose jobs, tummy-tucks, gastric-bypasses, etc, etc. etc. There’s even a procedure for men who want a hairy chest, not to mention the guys that wax.

Besides, there’s a big difference from Joseph Menguele experimenting on unwilling victims and people choosing this for themselves. It’s called, FREEDOM people, live it, love it, cherish it.

For me deep brown eyes are beautiful…

Blonde hair and blue eyes are nice, but a brown eyed brunette is pretty alluring as well

I am a natural blue eyed blonde. I don’t see the big deal in eye or hair color. Sophia Loren might not be as beautiful with blonde hair and blue eyes? She is drop dead gorgeous, as was Liz Taylor with her black hair and violet eyes. My father’s family was 1/2 Cherokee and many of them had jet black hair, olive skin, and dark blue eyes. Might have been strange if they had sky blue eyes though. The women were beautiful!

Ok, I’ll bite – I have nearly black eyes – always wanted green. I‘m sure that’s not possible as it looks like the shade underneath varies from person to person. One of those sample “Blue” eyes up there looks grey. Like they took out all color and now we’re looking at a black and white image. Wouldn’t THAT be a bummer – to get rid of perfectly pretty brown eyes and end up with a non-color. Bet the Dr. can‘t put that Brown back if you don’t like the shade of blue you end up with.

As it happens, I have bright green Gaelic eyes with tinges of gold in them. Quite happy to keep them, green isn‘t the most common color around and add in some gold to it and it’s quite striking.

That said, this new technique seems cool. As long as it is performed safely then all hail the free market and have fun!

but about the eyes, does this remind anyone else of Hitler’s experiments? Trying to make everyone blue eyed?

      @Loriann12

When I read this story I immediately thought of Hitler’s experiments.

We are granted only one pair of eyes and the thought of such a superficial procedure being done is ridiculous. This will be a purely cosmetic procedure with no other benefit than a change of eye color from brown to blue; setting the precedent that blue is superior.

I’m content being a brown eyed girl!

If this is they way someone would treat their “windows to the soul” they might as well put a for rent sign in there . Why risk it remember the old saying if it isn‘t broke don’t fix it ,vanity can lead to stupidity and both can be a dangerous thing, think Peelosi and Biden see the danger ?
