God-Blaming Receiver Responds With 7 More Tweets: ‘I Simply Cried Out and Asked Why’

In response to the news coverage regarding his tweet seemingly blaming God for a dropped touchdown pass, NFL receiver Stevie Johnson posted seven more messages on his Twitter account. The new tweets range from clarifying his earlier message to sending sarcastic “S/Os” — shout outs — to Bills fans who criticized him. The language, while clean, may be hard to understand because of the abbreviations. Bear with him during this Twitter journey.
Johnson starts out by thanking the Lord for the lesson:
Then makes it clear he does not have a beef with Abba Father:
A twirade (twitter + tirade) wouldn’t be complete without judging those who you think are judging you:
He lets us know he was comforted by family, and throws in the obligatory wife reference:
The twirade continues with a little twitter slang lesson. S/O means “shout out,“ and here Johnson gives a few to his ”real” friends, fans, and “fanollowers.“ I have no idea what a ”fanollower” is:
Don’t forget, Johnson plays with “passion and emotion”…and spells “because” as “BKUZ”:
And finally, one more S/O, but this one’s dripping with sarcasm:
Wheew. Good thing he “left it at that.” I’m not sure we could handle any more.

Posted on November 30, 2010 at 2:48pmNegative things that happen can be very good things. We just are not able to see or understand why God allows troubles at times. For example, yesterday morning it was very very cold and there was black ice on the roads. My car would not start so I was late about an hour for where I needed to go. I had to hook my car up to the battery charger. To me, it was not an inconvenience. For all I knew, God could be delaying me purposely because he was protecting me from a possible accident? We never know. When bad things happen, our nature is to complain and murmur, thus, we miss out on great blessings and wonderful things.

You see I truely feel God’s presence in my life. Not always the case…I had to grow in faith and allow it to happen. God is always there, but you have to have a desire to go there. Religion? Well that in and of itself is a whole different angle on the basics isn’t it?

Posted on November 30, 2010 at 3:16pmWhy all the fuss? People thank god for everything, like winning an award for a horrible rap song or helping them score a touchdown or win the Superbowl. Why is it so wrong to then blame god when something doesn’t go the way you wanted it to? You have to take the good with the bad. If he is the creator then he has to take the credit for the good and bad.

Posted on November 30, 2010 at 4:38pmI agree with Salvawhoray (I’m sure most already know that.)
Religion is not only for the weak minded it is immoral.
Immoral because it absolves individuals of their wrong-doings, crimes and resposibility for their actions by passing them off on the victim of a 2,000 year old human sacrifice (obviously I’m just addressing christianity right now.)
If you look at it that way, I don’t understand how anyone can willingly call themselves a christian. It is Un-American to be that flippant and dismissive of your personal responsibilities to be good and moral in the first place prior to any transgressions.
If bin Laden confessed his sins and converted to christianity, all christians would be forced to then forgive them and him unless they wished to violate the rules of their religion and risk eternal damnation. That is immoral and stupid.
Report Post »Resolved
Posted on November 30, 2010 at 6:12pm@MrButcher… Christianity teaches forgiveness, but our spiritual forgiveness doesn’t make Bin Laden any less accountable for his crimes in the temporal world. Forgiveness does more to heal the individual forgiving than it does to help the one who committed the crime. It frees us from the obligatory nature of hatred which destroys the good and moral soul. However, our forgiveness doesn‘t mean that if he’s caught he won’t still hang from the nearest tree.
@SALVAWHORAY… I bet my mind could beat up your mind.

Posted on November 30, 2010 at 6:54pmMrButcher – You are flat out wrong and you do not understand Christianity at all! I know that sounds harsh but it is said with love First of all, Jesus was not a victim. He was born to die and knew exactly what He was doing – He willingly gave His life for us. You might not understand it but you don’t have to distort it. Secondly, as far as us being “good and moral in the first place prior to any transgressions” we were all born into sin (and if you don’t believe that, then you should spend some time with any toddler because no parent teaches them to lie, steal, push, bite, hit, cry, wine, etc – parents teach their child how not to do those sinful things ). God is the one who gave you a conscience and it is His law that defines what is moral and what is not. Only God is holy, righteous and just and our sin separates us from Him. When we sin we sin against God. Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself so that we could be reconciled with God. That does not mean a Christian can live a sinful and immoral life. We are to repent (turn from our sin) and die to our flesh and pick up our cross daily. God does not want me to be void of personal responsibility or to take advantage of the sacrifice that His Son made for me so I can live a sinful life. God wants me to honor my commitments and not to be in debt to anyone but he also goes way above and beyond that, He wants me to be good, to be holy and righteous (not self-righteous). Romans 12:2 states, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” True Christianity is not about religion it’s about a relationship with Jesus Christ, letting Him guide and direct your path. I think if you actually read the Bible you would see how American values line up with Christian values. And finally, regarding Bin Ladin and forgiveness… God does not force a Christian or anyone to do anything. And God tells us to forgive our enemies regardless if they are a Christian or not. God forgives us and we should forgive others. I have forgiven Bin Ladin but that does not mean that there should not be consequences for his actions. He murdered thousands of people and deserves punishment for his crimes and I hope he is brought to justice soon. I just don’t carry around hate and anger towards him because seriously, what does that do to him, nothing… but it has the potential to destroy me. I will leave you with this, Psalms 14:1 – The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.

Posted on November 30, 2010 at 3:29pmWhat is with Facebook anyways? And why do people gravitate towards it? Why would I want the whole world to know me? Am I that special that I would spend all that wasted time to share with the world what I think and do? Seems like a real waste of valuable time. I won’t even go near it after hearing that they data mine every bit of information about you. Anyone who has a Facebook page must spend an awful lot of time in front of the mirror. What do I care what people think on their pages, especially if they share it with the world? My question is, if he claims to be a God-fearing or Christian person, then get rid of the self delusions. God would rather you talk to HIM and not the whole world. IT‘S CALLED ’HUMILITY’.

I’ve reconnected with old HS friends, a girl I hung out with when I lived in France, keep track of my relatives’ children, etc. If you don’t see the value in it, well, the world is probably better off for your staying away. :)
