‘God Hates Gays’ Message Shocks Residents After Appearing on Utah Road Construction Sign

A Provo, Utah, resident was in for a surprise when she was driving home from work and noticed a construction sign flashing with a curious — and offensive — message.
“God Hates Gays,” it read, causing YouTube user “SaveYourself777” (a girl named Annie Frewin), to take out her camera, capture the incident on video and upload it to share with the world.
“I had to double take it and flip around to record it, sorry my camera sucks,” she wrote in the video’s description. “I thought this was messed up.”
In interviews with The Huffington Post, employees from the Utah Department of Transportation, the City of Provo, the Provo Police Department and the Utah Highway Patrol all expressed shock and seemed to be hearing about the incident for the first time. It was established that the message was appearing on the I-15 corridor project, not far from Brigham Young University.
According to HuffPo, Leigh Dethman, a spokesperson for the project, claims that the sign was reprogramed by an unknown person. The message board for the unit controlling the sign was not secured, which purportedly allowed “for anyone to manipulate it.” The message was subsequently removed at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“I don’t know what the motivation was but [the person] would have had to physically walk up to the sign in order to change the message,” Dethman explained, claiming that remote access wasn’t possible.

Since there’s no video surveillance of the area, it‘s likely the culprit won’t be found.

Gay‘s can’t believe in the Almighty as they are sinning and not following the teachings of the Bible. You’ll never convince me that “being gay” is being a follower of our Lord and God. It’s abnormal, and Christians are tired of looking at them, listening to them, and would be truly happy if they just faded away. Seen and not heard! My Dad served in the US Navy. He detested Gays and if anyone knew there was a gay on a ship or one of their subs, they were automatically released from the military. There was nothing discussed, taken to court, zip! “Real men” do not want to serve beside a homosexual, and this is nothing more then the truth. Why it has become so controversal is beyond me, but because we allowed homosexuals in Congress, judicial systems, etc, then what more can you expect. The entire world has gone NUTS!

I agreed with your first sentence… and then pretty much every that followed was silly or outright wrong. God doesn’t hate gays at all. He hates their sin. He doesn’t “think they’re strange”; he thinks they should knock it off with the sin.
I find it terrible that you think multiplying with the help of science is a sin. I personally know two (straight, Christian) couples who would never have been able to conceive without the help of scientific advancements. You think that’s a sin?
And you think that gays cannot believe in God because they sin? I had no idea that sinners are excluded from belief. It’s a good thing that you are as perfect as Jesus and completely free of sin. How else could you believe in God?

Also, because of the increase in gay millionaires and support for gay rights from even straight billionaires, bezos, gates, singer, etc, surely you can see a pattern here. Or maybe just too stupid.

Morally, Christians find gay sexual relations sinful. It’s pretty clear in the Bible; you might find liberal Christians who argue it’s the -type- of gay relationship that’s objectionable, but I‘d say it’s a bit of a stretch.
God made people with same-sex attractions for the same reason he made the rest of us with temptations we must overcome. I find women attractive. Do I sleep with every woman I find? Of course not: that’s a sin. Maybe he gave someone else an addiction. Does that mean an alcoholism-prone person is to be excused for becoming a drunk? No.
As Christians, we need to recognize and work to overcome our trials.
Where I think most Christians go wrong is when they try to take that idea to EVERYONE in a society. The Bible says divorce is a sin, and I believe in the Bible, so I won’t divorce my wife. I don’t believe in gay marriage, so I’m not going to marry another man. But that doesn’t mean I have ANY right to tell others they cannot divorce or marry who they want. Let society decide. I’ll follow my own beliefs.
I wish my fellow Christians would do the same.

God loves the sinner however, and this distinction is a night and day difference between reality, and the message of the sign.
If God is the final judge for which there is no appeal and he hates you, you truly have no hope. It says in the Bible, that it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.
The sign’s message conveys this hopelessness, it makes homosexuality the unforgivable sin.
While you yet live there is hope, but as Jesus says, the moment is now, for time is short.

Someone told me, that he heard, and I can’t prove it, but because it is out there, it must be true, that Harry Reid reprogrammed the sign. And this person also told me that he heard Harry Reid say he wanted to make god fearing conservatives look bad. Now, as I said, I can’t prove this, but doesn’t it make sense that Harry Reid did this???

The shame of it all is that there are many people out there, just like some of the commenters here who hate gays – like the people in the thread about the guy disowning his son over being gay. If they weren’t calling it a hoax they were Biblically justifying it. I’ve said it once, I’ve said it again, there‘s Conservatism and being a Republican and then there’s this sickness that y’all got. The idiot that changed the sign obviously knows nothing about God. At least the God of the Bible. If God hates gays, then He hates me too because I am also a sinner. The only difference is, I’ve repented and accepted His forgiveness and now I try to not willingly sin. But, I fail daily. It is arrogant, pious, and prideful to suggest that you are better than someone else because your sin isn’t as bad as theirs.

You never know when you might need to freeze in the position of a sapling for a few days. And just in case conscription comes back. I’m a man who believes in being prepared for anything, just like you.
Well, it‘s Friday and I’m creeping up on a full load. Makes it a bit tough to stay secure in the old truck when I take a corner too fast. But I will persevere. And I’ll be all cleaned up for Sunday morning prayer meeting, provided I don’t go nuts at the barbecue later today. Stay crazy, G.
