‘Golden-Voiced’ Homeless Man Scores Reality Show Deal

It took just days for Ted Williams to shoot from a homeless man panhandling on the side of an Ohio road to a national phenomenon, all thanks to his “golden voice.”

Now, not surprisingly, Hollywood wants a piece of the action.

According to TMZ, Williams has inked a deal to star in his very own reality television show:

Ted’s rep tells us the show will be called “Second Chances at Life” — which will document how Mr. “Golden Voice” went from a promising radio career to living on the streets … to becoming a YouTube sensation. The series will also follow Ted’s life as he battles to rebuild his career and personal life.

We’re told the show will be shot in three different locations: Brooklyn (his hometown), Ohio (where he was homeless) and Los Angeles … where he’s been hanging out at expensive restaurants.

And that’s not all: Ted‘s rep says they’re already planning season two — when they’ll introduce other people who deserve a second chance.

It doesn’t take much to see Ted as he really is. Sure, he is an addict but watching him on Dr Phil revealed he was also a con man and a people user. What he is to “sick” to see is the fact that he is now being used and as soon as he crashes again (which is a certainty) his “friends” will throw him to the wolves.

If Ted Williams can stay off drugs and stay sober and stay out of jail, since he is a habitual criminal and was charged as recently as June 2010, he might have a chance of surviving.

Ted Williams IS the motivational story of the year. Talk about never giving up hope despite your afflictions! I was a drunk and I know how hopeless it can be. Everything good that ever happened to me happened during 7 years of sobriety, Then I returned to drinking, and lost EVERYTHING in 2 years. Now, I’m 2 years sober again and rebuilding. I feel Ted Williams struggle and I appreciate his gifts and his hope! He’s wrestling with his demons and he is gaining ground. Only a self-righteous a-hole of the highest order bashes Ted and what good comes his way. Give the man a round of applause and encourage him as the world sees a broken man climb out of the pit to live out the greatness God intended for him. Read the parable of the 10 talents. The quest to give the Master a return on His investment isn’t over until the Master returns to get an accounting of His talents invested with his servants. What are YOU doing with YOURS?

Hasnt he already used up his 15 minutes, including verbally assaulting his family and physically assaulting his daughter recently… There are many other people who deserve this money, not this weirdo, he needs help before people start throwing money at him.

I have really been praying for Ted.

Thank you, The Blaze, for posting this story, and thank you, too, Meredith for being responsible for it. The man is a good person. He has a disease known as addiction. He got a Kraft Foods contract, and I wrote Kraft to thank them for giving him a chance.

Dr. Phil has been working with Ted, and I think he’s been in rehab. Perhaps he can handle his life now.

He does have an incredible voice. I hope this money will help his ex wife and all his children also.

I, too, have wondered how he was doing. I’m glad he will have a second chance and hope he does right by his ex-wife and family, and that he can keep it all together. Will keep him in my prayers.
