Google Maps Shows Strange, Grid-Like Images in China: ‘Nobody Really Knows’

Google Maps has been known to capture some strange images. Some have been turned into art, while others are revealing, such as those showing North Korean concentration camps. The latest photos from Google Maps are taken from China and are just plain puzzling.

According to Gizmodo, this first image is taken from Dunhuang, Jiuquan, Gansu, north of the Shule River in the Kumtag Desert:

They seem to be wide lines drawn with some white material. Or maybe the dust have been dug by machinery.

The tracks are perfectly executed, and they seem to be designed to be seen from orbit.

Perhaps it’s some kind of targeting or calibrating grid for Chinese spy satellites? Maybe it’s a QR code for aliens? Nobody really knows.

Here’s the Google Map for the above image.

In a second image, Gizmodo describes seeing a grid similar to a radio or electrical station, and notes that if you zoom in you’ll see what appear to be destroyed vehicles.

The Washington Post also points out an image of what could be a roadway crossing the Gobi desert:

Speculation as to what the buildings are ran from water purification plants to weapons testing sites to training facilities. In one Google Earth closeup there is debris scattered in a systematic way, possibly suggesting a weapons training facility. In another closeup, there appear to be large manmade bodies of water.

    If I had to take a guess, I’d say the lines are nothing more than a distraction. The Chinese are more than aware that we have our own ‘birds’ watching them closely. This is probably an attempt to bleed off some of their money (like with the fully built, uninhabited cities they built) and cause confusion at the same time. It’s a “hey look at this” but “don’t pay attention to this over here” scheme. Classic “Art of War” strategy. If anything, the 18 mile section of horizontal lines could be a solar farm project on a large scale basis. They do manufacture the world’s cheapest and most efficient panels right now.

      I think a couple of them are a ruse, but the one with all the grid-lines looks like some sort of directional antenna with a more complex series of networks at the perpendicular bisector point, and if you zoom in it looks as if there is a series of objects 6 x 4 totaling 24 and there are many sets of 24. Maybe transformers or capacitors?

      Perhaps it is a national defense weapon designed to cover many bandwidths and block out radio communications against an enemy by over whelming the bands with a massive surge of RF.

      In a high-tech war the last remaining communications would be HF, and perhaps that is their solution to overwhelming HF, and winning the war. The Chinese aren‘t stupid and they plan way ahead because it’s their nature to do so. And lets not forget, I don’t think they care much about the environment.

      The nation that has the biggest population issues and as a result is having it‘s elite’s power threatened is China, and therefore they need a place for their people to go. I think China would be happen if entire continents of people just disappeared so they can easily move abroad.

      Yes this is a HAARP grid – China will be experiencing Earth Quakes very soon – same thing happened in Nevada a year ago when they had 7 or 8 earth quakes in a row. Also simular things are occuring in Texas – that some believe is cuasing the drought and a couple of very rare earth quakes. Just another day in the office for Obama.

      @Eliasim — consider it this way, once the US intel agencies see these figure how much in the way of time and resources will need to be used from other projects to answer these:

      What exactly are they?
      What purpose do they have?
      Are they a decoy or distraction?
      Are we sure to what they seem to be?

      It could be a legitimate ruse on a massive scale, have some true technological function; or it could be a mixture of both. With the nation of China, as with Russia, nothing can be sure 100%

      Yeah that’s it HAARP is causing earthquakes and droughts, and apparently it also caused the droughts in the early 1900′s, and the late 1700′s and the worse than usual winters. HAARP must have caused the mid- 1800′s warm-up, and also the medieval warm-up. And even though they are not certain exactly how to calculate climate change because of the billions of variables, they can apparently direct earthquakes to whatever region they want, and also target particular nations with drought. I think HAARP has it‘s national defense purposes but I don’t think controlling climate of the planet is one of them.

      The top photo is pretty much what we’d expect to see when working through the telemetry for targeting weaponry by remote command. Topography is a key to establishing accurate firing solutions.

      I haven’t modeled it yet, but I‘d like to do a transparency and overlay it across a world map to know for sure if they’re developing something for military use, or if it’s nothing more than a map to designate mining.

      I think you are hearing more about earthquakes because there are over 7 billion people in the world and because the earth goes through smaller cycles and grand cycles, and people forget about it’s cycles. People have built cities on top of regions that will be affected by the grand cycle, and the sun also goes through grand cycles which affect the earth. The media reports every little shake the earth does, and they didn‘t used to do that and more importantly 100 years ago people didn’t lie in some of the regions that have quakes. So I don’t think we need HAARP to hear about earthquakes and droughts.

      1) fractal radio antenna used for extremely large wavelength radio waves. Most likely subterranean.
      2) no idea.
      3) phased array directional antenna for very large subterranean radio transmission or reception. Submarine tracking for exampe. Discrimination is very good with scanners available now.

      1st pic is probably related to targeting solutions. That would be my guess from working on defense projects/weapons telemetry based entirely on GPS. It’s done in a relative soft zone of the earths electromagnetic field (means it’s generally stable) so reading distortions are minimal for calculations.

      2nd pic I think you’re probably closer than you might realize.

      3rd pic could be a lot of different things. Reminds me of a power grid, or even a targeting grid to create a pattern for air to ground warfare where terrain doesn’t have to be programmed except during flight.

      We have literally thousands of specific sat images of the US (and trust territories) air space that we use as general reference points for programming remote guidance systems. It would be a surprise if China didn’t have the same thing going on. Advanced weaponry requires intensive learning platforms to perfect them.

      The tracks are the testing from a Land based laser, Satellite reflected weapon?
      As is the rather impressive Grid of lines, imagine how close in tolerance one would have to navigate on land to draw those patterns, even with a GPS or land based positioning system, but a single point reference space location would make it easy peasy lemon squeezie.
      The Giant circle is an EMP testing platform for testing Weapons delivery vehicles like the planes on the test platform for survivability after the strike. The US versions typically use Horizontal Emitters that create a large vertical magnetic pules that could be sensed through the earth from the far side, A vertical emitter would create a horizontal pules that would go into space at the horizon with little detectable disturbance at the polls of the field. The black thingies in the circle could be electromagnets to direct & concentrate the effect on the test subjects.

      China is not Primitive, Far from it. They, like all nations will do what it takes to protect their country.
      Too bad our president would rather work against us, than for us.

      My best quess:

      1) Geomagnetic fractal antenna/resonator. There must be very little magnetic material around or beneath the devise.

      2) Satellite/google earth “stitch” marks. There are very few satellite passes over this region. The digitized images are calibrated and stitched together. The cross stiches are produced by a less-than-perfect digital image.

      3) A HAARP. A phased array directional antenna used for heating the ionosphere, weather manipulation, heating subterranean water to initiate earthquakes, disruption of aircraft/satellite communication, ultra low frequency submarine communication, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in oil exploration.

      4) The blue “airport” configuration are rows of solar panels used to power communication antennas. There are capacitors to the right and an abandoned configuration of solar panels to the left. The three dark blue squares were plastic canopies to protect workers unpacking and assembling the solar panels. There are three broken frames and white plastic dust covers strewn about.

      The radial structure with the three bombers in the center is to test the shielding of the avionics for EMP, disruption of communication/navigation, other electronic countermeasures.

Gee, 24 years ago it was hydrophones laid on the ocean floor….I know, that’s what I did for 4 years. “I listened to sounds in the ocean, both man made and biological, through a series of hydrophones laid on the ocean floor.” That’s all I was allowed to say up to 10 years after I got out.

      I am not sure if the people that posted this even zoom in to really look at what these are? Some are clearly military training grounds yes for booming just like the http://www.yuma.army.mil/ proving grounds Google map the following 33.091002,-114.398309 or 33.080952,-114.376237 or Camp Twentynine Palms Middle BagDad City 34.24567,-116.025088 . The others are Wind Power stations. Now for 40.452107,93.742118 if you user Google Earth other than the interesting design you only see a difference in the change of elevation of 1meter ( I thing that was the measurement mine was set to) from the white surface to the surrounding terrain.     Saw this article at Gizmodo, the comments there say that the overlay of the first geometric do not correspond to any major urban areas in the US. I would suggest (mainly because I have to earn a living!) that some would check the overlay against areas in Taiwan, Nepal and Russia to see if they match up with THOSE geographic areas.

    The Secondary images definitely show craters and destroyed equipment which could be caused by terrestrial based or space based weapons.

    Americans, there could be a MAJOR reason why the US is not mentioned in the book of Revelation. Pray hard!

      The first image looks like a city street test firing range. The second looks like a building test firing range. The last is probably a scale to measure missile and jet speed. If you look, there is also a few airstrips near by. One is bombed out. Probably to practice taking out an enemies ability to scramble counter forces.

      Actually, the second set of images strongly resemble “surface strikes” of munitions testing for anti-personnel materiel’ rather than a space based platform of weaponry. Were I a betting man, I’d say they were testing area and personnel specific munitions for “low intensity” (Re:insrugency or counter-insurgency type) weapons. Most likely for insertion into the Estados Unidos via our southern border or for a “contracting sub-Saharan” country like oh, say, Iran?
      Our esteemed Asiatic “trading partners” NEVER do anything on a whim, and I believe the grid is some kind of antenna network, placed in an area that’s extremely difficult for us to hit without ICBM capabilities. Might be a CLUE, there?(as to it’s purpose)

      The US is mentioned in Revelation. “The woman” (Israel) was protected “by the wings of a great eagle (US).” It’s the same reference Daniel uses in the 1st prophecy concerning America. Great Britain was the lion with eagles’ wings on it. Then the wings were plucked up “and a man’s heart was given unto it”. These are symbolic of the two most famous symbols of America: The bald eagle and Uncle Sam. We’ll be here during the great tribulation, just maybe not all of us.

    These are post flood/disaster images. look to the west of pic #1, see the blue tarps on the buildings…and the airport is covered in debris. My guess is this was a training ground. It looks like a tank live-fire range.

      I was thinking the same thing, especially from the first picture. It looks like the white part of the roads are at a higher elevation than everything else, which would indicate that everything around it was flooded and all the color got sucked out of it and it turned to a muddy, strange looking mess. It’s definitely odd.

      There is clearly flood damage. But there are a few things to ponder regarding the first picture:
      1. There is another similar light brown configuration further to the west of the airport(s).
      2. There are, in fact, multiple airfields, with no airport facilities
      3. Flooding appears as if it could have been extensive/catastrophic as there are no buildings remaining standing and the airfields appear to be covered in mud from washout.
      4. If this is flooding, there is no apparent cause. There are no tributaries or large lakes nearby.
      5. The runways are of the largest/longest in existence. Comparable to commercial airfields in the US for jumbos. What could such large runways really service in such isolation?
      6. I am not convinced those are blue tarps. The BIRGHT blue to the northwest of the airfield farthest east seems to bleed onto the surrounding landscape, like this is an altered photo.
      7. Each band of the configuration(s) are around 75 feed wide. Much larger than a foot path or even an encampment. Also, look closely, as it appears as if the “flodding” has also affected the strange patern.

      All in all this is strange, but it is hard to guess with what we know here.

    It looks like a HAARP configuration to me. This is proven science discovered by Nicola Tesla, and it’s something to worry about. China is the most elaborate hoax in history. They’re about to pop out of existence, unless they make their move now.

    Tough to say, either the damaged vehicles were the result of some kind of accident or their are testing some kind of detonation system perhaps, its difficult to say for sure, when I saw the far away very of the grid I thought either foundations for an extremely large tower, a power plant footprint, possibly a geo-thermal system, or they were laying out the foundations for a hardened structure of some sort, but seems like a lot of resources and work is going on and its not for something petty.

    Its a maze for a new chinese reality TV game show, “Escape from Lao Gai,” wherein christian political prisoners – between beatings and other tortures and assembling iPhones – are placed, the outcome (they escape or not) deciding whether their organs are harvested for wealthy party members and their families or on the world market.

      do they have a way to Send False Information to our satellites…. it looks like they have a layer ONTOP of other layers…. so i would GUESS that they have a way to tell our satalites what image to put at a coordnates… but i have no idea how this could be implamented, but it would be necessary to hide military assets in the 21st

      Most of these if not all are just screw ups on google’s part when they fuse the triangles from various passes at different times and resolutions together to try to make the most detailed images possible with the least amount of shadows and snow cover as possible. This is automated, and all the screw ups can’t be automatically detected. These areas look very different on maps.live.com, yahoo, as well as high resolution army servers I have access to.

    Solar panel farms? Dunno, I suspect you can find “strange and…whatever” in any given place using Google maps. I don’t use Google though, since they’re evil, so I’ll never know.

      with the 3rd image im with you on solar farm…. it dosent have a north arrow, but if the shape moves from the north east to the south west, it would follow the sun during the day… it could be a massive power plant

      I am not trusting google myself. After reading theses comments that have been posted, I am in awe at the intelligence that comes from the Blazers here. This has given me hope for the future of our country to know that we have individuals with equally matched intelligence to go up against the progressives. (myself not included) Our strength in numbers though esstential are not enough without the proper leadership . We need to be organized and must have individuals capable of translating this type of information to those of us who don’t have the necessary qualifications. Thanks for sharing this information.

      82nd Air — normally about Glenns chalkboard I would laugh at; save on the drudge report I seen the same photos in a different related article and did some digging around. The second picture, in which looks like it has destroyed or scrapped vehicles around it a associate of mine said it appears to be a sight for storage of dangerour (radiological) waste.

      The third picture structure is even more interesting, as we have here a retired radio construction and operations engineer (satellite and such) and he said this could be (in his oppinion) a Ultra Low frequency transmitter and/or receiver such as used to contact submersed vehicles.

      And recall back earlier in this year when the unknown missile was launched by a unknown sub off of our West Coast? I wonder if we have a connection?
