GOP Lawmakers Protest Removal of ‘God’ From Air Force Unit’s Patch

Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office Removes Reference to God from LogoA group of 35 Republican lawmakers is protesting the removal of ‘God’ that appears in the patch logo for the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO).

Led by Rep. Randy Forbes, the group wrote a letter to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley and Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz urging them to restore the logo and its reference to God.

Forbes warned that RCO’s action could set a “dangerous precedent” when it comes to religion and the military.

“The action taken by the RCO suggests that all references to God, regardless of their context, must be removed from the military,” Forbes wrote. “As we are confident that your legal advisers would not suggest that censorship is required for compliance with the First Amendment, we ask that you reverse this perplexing decision.”

The Hill adds:

The patch logo was changed after a military atheist group, the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers, protested the reference to God on the patch. The patch has a saying on it in Latin, which is common for military patches, that translates to: “Doing God’s Work with Other People’s Money.”

The saying was then changed last month to say: “Doing Miracles with Other People’s Money.”

The RCO is an office created in 2003 that expedites weapons systems and reports to a board of directors that includes the Air Force secretary and chief of staff.

This isn’t the first time Forbes has gotten involved with God and the government.

You may recall that in November, Forbes introduced a bill to reaffirm “In God We Trust” as the country’s motto. In response, however, President Obama suggested the legislation was a waste of time.

“I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people back to work,” Obama said in November according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

What a mystical and liberal patch! So they have an eagle soaring past a Soviet Red Star inside a Black Pentagon inside a US Air Force blue star inside a One World Order global setting, surrounded with a socialist Opus Dei motto in Latin.

-And there are 35 Republicans who “protest” to keep the RCO from changing it?

The RCO’s “dangerous precedent when it comes to religion and the military” was to mock their mission as a socialist activity directed by God. It indirectly makes the Commander in Chief, a Deity.

We MUST all stand up to these atheists. There are many of them, but not nearly as many as believers. We MUST stand up to ACLU, in voice and legally. We desperately need a legal team who will dedicate themselves to restoring God in every aspect of our lives–not foisting our religions on people, but refusing to let these small minded, mean spirited (mostly) fools to overtake our military, statuary on Federal lands and so on. Enough is enough!

So if you’re a Christian/Jewish (or Jewish/Christian) lawyer reading this, and have like minded lawyer friends, I implore you to stand up and take on the big boys….please! Why do I mention Jewish lawyers? Simple, once the crosses are gone, so go the Magen David.

Atheists are trying to claim knowledge that does not exist. They have no basis for saying that GOD does NOT exist. With that in mind, they are trying to FORCE their ‘belief system’ on the rest of us. MANY of us, however, have very firm evidence that GOD DOES EXIST and we do share this knowledge with those who have enough sense to know that they do NOT have the answers.
EVIL is rampant. Evil depends upon human PRIDE and EGO. Atheists are pawns of EVIL.

      @ Patty

Take a logic class. The burden of proof lies with the one making a positive claim, such as “God exists.“ A negative claim like ”God does not exist” is the default assumption and requires no proof, only to be proven wrong.

Furthermore, taking religion out of our government, schools, etc. is no more oppressive than you trying to do the opposite. Get a grip.

By making the Government neutral with regards to religion is not the same as saying the Government is supporting the atheist agenda. There are no signs going up on government buildings saying “there is no God.” Nor is anyone infringing on an individuals right to worship what ever sky diety they wish. Using the example of the patch or even school pray, members of other religion where routinly excluded, should we also print coins with in Vishnu we trust.

Does this surprise anyone? They have been prying our Ten Commandments off the walls and out of the ground for years. They have been tearing down our crosses and removing them for years. They are trying to remove God from our existence. In God We Trust will be next and then any reference to a Creator will be removed from our Founder’s lips. Ultimately this is going to lead to Bible burning. We are no better than the Communist or the Nazi’s. If B.O. gets four more years, he WILL complete the job.

On the reverse is Annuit Coeptis sp? Which means “He (God) has favored Our undertaking”. They are both on the Great Seal. “In God We Trust” was added to currency in 1864 as the national motto. @ VRW – You are partially correct in that “In God We Trust” was only added to coins in 1864. It was added to paper currency in 1957. However it wasn‘t until 1956 that the phrase was legally adopted as the United States’ national motto by a law passed by the 84th United States Congress. This was done mainly to show the “godless” Communists that the U.S. had god on their side. Pretty pathetic reason if you ask me. So my facts are correct and yours are partially correct.

“One nation under God.” We must remember Who stood with us many times in military victories, from George Washington on. We must be one nation under God, that we may have His protection and blessings. It is not so important how we call Him, but that we do call upon Him, knowing that we are not great, but God is great. That is probably why the Constitution calls Him, our Creator. In this partnership, God is the bigger part of our relationship: “One nation under God.”

Could this be what was meant by a prophecy March 15, 1985: “There is but one way that you may survive all these things, and that is if you bind together, become as one. Know the honor of one. Know the needs of one. Know the duties of one. And be as one. And then, let your whole land prepare itself. For warfare is like a step away from you….”

ArtVII,SecII, ” Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the (Year of our Lord) one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America . In witness whereof We have hereunto subscribed our Names.”

Thomas Jefferson 3rd US president, drafter and signer of the Declaration of Independence said this:

“God who gave us life, gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is amongst possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event.”
(Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, p. 237)

Are you that stupid as to use a formal why of recording a date at that time as evidence of the intent to create a Christian Nation? A.D., Anno Domini, or Year of our Lord are formal writing customs nothing more. The Constitution’s actual articles and amendments limit and restrict the interplay between religion and government.

Santorum won in Minnesota and Missouri……! Awesome speech Rick! as for removing God from the patch, how dare they? Now is not the time to pull away from the core values of our country for political correctness. Now is the time to stand up and defend what is our right as citizens of the United States of America. This action that has been taken is a sign of weakness and unacceptable. Just ask our military men and women who face battle if they pray and regognize God as our Lord and savior. I am not calling for violence, I am calling for people to WAKE UP! Every day some form of our rights are taken away. If there are people here who have chosen to come from another country that object to our way of life, our values, our laws, our constitution, and our religions then they should just go back to where ever they came from. We should not have to change for them. We can respect their cultures & their choice of religion but we should not have to sacrifice ours on their behalf. Enough is enough. I pledge alligience to the FLAG of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA and to the REPUBLIC for which it STANDS, ONE nation under GOD, INDIVISABLE, with liberty and justice for all. If you can not honor our pledge then you have the right and the duty to leave.

So Christians are losing all these battles??? Where are the Christian groups to stand up to the evil athiests and bondage-thinkers groups?? I’m sorry, but obviously the group of 30 GOP guys just isn’t gonna cut it. And so they rolled over on the Forbes “In God we trust” bill because Obummer said it was a waste of time??!!! Ummmm we need to start a serious group that can actually battle like David and get things done! OR do we have to continue reading this garbage of God getting trampled on daily????

“Bondage-thinker.” That’s funny. Have you looked in a mirror lately?

There are no such animals. Just like the National Organization for Women doesn’t speak out against the Muslims.

Satan doesn’t allow for his groups to lash out against each other.

Yes he does. Satan’s house is severely divided. He doesn’t care.

I think both sides are stupid.

Not to mention I love that a group that is involved with weapons systems has a motto of “Doing God‘s work with other people’s money.”

      Nothing like killing for Jesus.

“Militant atheists” will lose these battles in the end, as people don’t discuss the legitimate points of their argument, they will just say “OH MY GOD, THEY’RE ATTACKING GOD” and throw a huge fit. I think it’s odd that an all knowing, all powerful, all loving God……needs so much defense.

Then again, despite our horrible economy we can always count on the GOP whose primary focus on job, is to take time out of their day to pass unnecessary legislation to re-affirm our motto as “In God We Trust.” and other stuff like this.

Just like despite jobs being the Democrats #1 priority, they can take time out of their busy day to stop focusing on jobs, and instead focus on a private foundation’s actions in regards to planned parenthood.

The truth is, it’s never been about jobs and it never will be. Both sides just have hot button issues to keep us arguing about our differences instead of realizing, “damn, the economy is getting worse, and none of these politicians are interested in it getting better.”
