GOP Rep. Accuses Elizabeth Warren of Lying During House Testimony

Elizabeth Warren, President Obama’s controversial choice to head the new consumer financial regulatory agency, skipped out of a House Oversight hearing before answering questions from two members of the committee, claiming that she had reached an agreement allowing her to leave at that time. But Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-NC, chair of the subcommittee holding the hearing, said no such agreement existed.
“You’re making this up, Ms. Warren,” McHenry fired back when Warren claimed she only agreed to come under the condition she could leave at 2:15 p.m.
Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-MD, came to Warren’s defense, saying, “You just accused the lady of lying.”

A tense exchange ensued.
Warren claimed that the schedule had been changed on her four times in 12 hours, and she received late night phone calls about the changes. She said she had to rearrange her schedule to accommodate the new start time, and now had a scheduled meeting, so she couldn’t stay an additional 10 minutes to answer more questions.
McHenry argued that Republican committee staff had been working for weeks to accommodate her schedule, even choosing this day because it worked best for her. He claimed that there was no firm agreement on when she could leave, only a pledge to try to get her out as soon as possible.
When he said he didn’t want to cause Warren problems, she shot back “You are causing problems.” She claimed “I have other obligations I committed to” based on the understanding she could leave.
After several minutes of back and fourth, during which none of the other committee members had come back from casting votes to ask questions, McHenry begrudgingly dismissed Warren.

How about back to the Original Intent of the Constitution?
Government should not be paying for NPR, Planned Parenthood, GM, GE, and otherwise any form of corporate welfare.
Lobbying should not, in my view, be a lucrative profession.
I want the SCOTUS leaving We the People alone, and letting choices that are considered moral left to the voters of the individual states instead of imposing an agenda.
I demand equal treatment under the law, instead of people not getting a job for which they’re qualified because of some government-mandated quota.
I want good teachers getting better pay because they’re good at what they do, rather than government-supported unions forcing school boards to keep teachers who rape children just because the pervert is in the union.
Need I go on, or do you get it?

I think they treated her politely. She didn’t HAVE to give them the finger, the way she acted was bad enough. She works for the people, the people elected Congress to get work done and Congress scheduled, or tried to schedule this meeting with her, but she isn’t taking it seriously. If she doesn’t want the job, or is just too busy to do the job, we can always find someone else.
This is the Congress, it is their job to debate, to pass bills, whether they think the Senate will pass them or not. IMO, it is the Democratically controlled Senate and President that is stifling job creation and not taking it seriously.

The House, unless I miss my guess, is not a court. I don‘t believe she could be subpoena’ed, but if it’s an option, force her with that.

And he did the Blaze thing of calling her a liar (total breach of etiquette and courtesy in an open hearing), when, at worst it was a misunderstanding, apparently on his part. Clearly too, he was not the brightest bulb in the room, repeatedly defending himself by saying “I didn’t call you.” Yeah, your staff did, whatever. Clown.

He rules and decides when and the length of the meetings are. Along with gathers witnesses, he is working for the “people” and yes the Republicans are running the country when it comes to leadership in congress. Or did you miss the 2010 election?
Mr. Warren was out of turn and called the chairmen a liar. She also lied and the reason I’d believe the chairman is because he had nothing to gain from this, she was arrogant and condescending, I personally would have held her in contempt. I would also ask what this next meeting was, I‘ll guaranty it wasn’t life threatening.

Yet another subject. I really do think that Michelle Obama needs a better dress designer …. her strap effect dress in London really was not becoming.
Final subject for this post …. the Blaze is not what it once was at all … I am losing confidence in the site.
