GOP Rep Calls CNN Show a ‘Joke’ on Live TV After ‘Ridiculous’ Question

Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) took Piers Morgan to task on his show Monday after the CNN host accused the congressman of “stabbing [House Speaker John Boehner] in the back” for voting against the debt deal.
The interview kicked off with Morgan asking Mack whether he could presume the congressman “would have been quite happy for your country to go into catastrophic default” because he voted no.
“Well then, you would have presumed wrong, obviously,” Mack said.
The two debated the merits of the deal and the economists who supported it, with Morgan asking at one point, “I‘m sure you’ve heard of Paul Krugman, for example. He won a Nobel Prize for economics.”
A few minutes later, Morgan asked Mack if he could also presume Mack wanted Boehner (R-Ohio) to resign the speakership “given he’s authorized this terrible deal?”
“Of course I don’t believe that,” Mack said. “I think the speaker has done as good a job as he can given the circumstances….It’s not something that I supported, but that’s what happens here in Washington, D.C. all the time.”
“If he’s done such a great job, why did you stab him in the back?” Morgan asked.
“I didn’t stab him in the back. Come on, don’t be ridiculous with stuff like that. Now you’re just making your show a joke,” Mack replied.
“Really, why is that?” Morgan asked.
“For saying things like that, Piers. Come on,” Mack said.
Morgan challenged Mack’s comment before repeating the back-stabbing remark again about Mack’s no vote on the deal: “You are stabbing him in the back, metaphorically. Not really, you’re not doing it with a knife, but effectively, that‘s what you’re doing.”

Any left wing airhead can win a Noble in our tilted universe. The prize just does not demand the respect and prestige it once did. Long…long ago.

Posted on August 3, 2011 at 11:25amOn 8 October 2008, the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Osamu Shimomura, Chalfie, and Tsien for their work on GFP. Prasher was not included among the Nobel laureates, as only 3 individuals can share in a single Nobel Prize. Chalfie said of Prasher’s contribution:
“(Douglas Prasher’s) work was critical and essential for the work we did in our lab. They could’ve easily given the prize to Douglas and the other two and left me out.”
Tsien also agreed that they couldn’t have done it without Prasher and “Doug Prasher had a very important role.”
In an October 9, 2008 phone interview with National Public Radio (NPR) and October 14, 2008 TV interview with Inside Edition, Prasher reported that he was unable to find a job in science, his life savings had run out and that he was working as a courtesy shuttle bus driver for Bill Penney Toyota in Huntsville, Alabama at $8.50 an hour.

Posted on August 3, 2011 at 11:52amKrugman has been wrong about everything since Obama went on his Keynesian magic carpet ride. Krugman lately has said that even if the debt were 90% of the GDP it would still be fine. Krugman is still calling for more “stimulus”. Mack should have hit Morgan with that one…”gee Piers…do you believe even if the debt were 90% of the GDP it would still be fine?” .

Posted on August 3, 2011 at 11:55amWhy these politicians elect to go on CNN or MSNBC is amazing to me. They should know beforehand that they‘re not going to be interviwed by anyone who does objective reporting and that the interviewer’s intent is strictly to demonize everything that is not bizarre leftist ideology and to propagandize viewers.
If all Republicans refused to appear on the shows they might be able to shaken these leftist geeks into being less radical. But, they continue appearinmg and allowinf themselves to be openly demonized.
Republicans know absolutely nothing about psychological operations. And they never have. They will continue to be eaten alive by the crazies on the left.
Our only hope is the prospect of civil war in order to split the country into enclaves. We cannot co-exist with these morons.
Let them all have their own few states. We can then build a wall around the entire area, afterwhich they’ll destroy themselves from within.
And our new government will be run by the people, voting in referendums on EVERY ISSUE.

Posted on August 3, 2011 at 4:38pmMorgan is clearly an idiot. Citing Krugman is a loser’s game.
Progressives like Krugman treat unemployment with massive doses of government spending — such things as stimulus and Keynesian pump priming, which make the deficit all the worse. Krugman has long insisted that the Obama’s trillion-dollar stimulus was much too small to make the needed difference. But right after the 2006 election, when the Democrats took back Congress, Krugman advised:
Democrats shouldn’t spend political capital trying to bring the deficit down. … given a choice between cutting the deficit and spending more on good things like health care reform, they should choose the spending. … Should [the Democrats] use the reclaimed revenue to reduce the deficit, or spend it on other things? The answer, I now think, is to spend the money…and let the deficit be. … In the long run, something will have to be done about the deficit. But given the state of our politics, now is not the time.
This advice came at a time when America had “full employment.” So it’s natural to wonder if for Paul Krugman there is ever a right time to tackle the deficit.
Mack had Morgan right there….citing Krugman showed just how uninformed Morgan truly is.
