GOP Rep to EPA Chief: ‘Do You Believe in the Law of Supply & Demand?’

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson appeared before the House Energy and Commerce Committee Wednesday to testify about her agency’s role in regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act.

During her testimony, Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., confronted Jackson about the real costs of the legislation, at one point questioning whether she was familiar with the law of supply and demand:

Jackson was on the Hill to discuss Republicans’ “Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011.” Click here for more info.

Shoot, is this where she and Michelle O. get together to see how they can get rid of all meat? I figure since cows, pigs, and all animals breathe off carbons, they’ll try to get rid of meat? It isn’t going to be easy, but I figure with a couple of Executive orders, and telling people we don’t have enough oxygen Michelle, BO, and the EPA Admin will come up with a story about a lack of Oxygen because of Carbon Dioxide! Anyone else see this. Once they get rid of Animals, then they can charge for our consumption of Oxygen! What was that saying? Oh, Spread the Weath! But to whom I ask? I doubt it will end up in the poors hand; I know, its in BO’s and Al Gores Piggy Bank!…..

Isn;t this the same as Cap and Trade? It has too do with Carbon Dioxide and companies having to buy credits to pollute carbon into the air? ITS all a huge Scam! This is why I stated the Ultimate goal is to get rid of animals like cows, and pigs, that produce large quanities of methane gas!

I‘m sure you’ve heard Glenn talk about this! Michelle is probably getting a kick out of wanting to make everyone eat greens, as long as she can Eat whatever she wants! Just like at the Super Bowl! Did anyone ever think it would get this bad? That our Govt. would be telling people what they can and can’t eat? I’m feeling like I cant even go to the bathroom without our Govt. watching me!…. Anyone else there yet? Maybe its the Snow! Or better yet, its the Carbon Dioxide; too much in the Atmosphere, I guess!….

There is no debate if you don’t have any facts. The fact is that Global Warming is a muth and is not caused by CO2 emissions but 99.8% of it is due to solar cycles. So, there was no need for her to “make her case” if all she was going to do was spout environMENTAL nonsense. The time to make her case was when she was asked a direct question. Instead, she ended up stammering.

We pay Lisa about $177,000 to suffocate the growth of business and prosperity in this country and to argue with federal and state governments about how potentially protecting the environment is much more important than putting people to work or providing businesses with the affordable energy needed to conduct a profitable business. At the Blue Green Alliance conference, she indicated that American businesses were sitting on a “record amount of cash holdings,” which she intimated were “estimated at $1.93 trillion, and businesses could invest some of those holdings to create jobs that advance pollution control.” Clueless! If green energy were a PROFITABLE business, there would be loads of people dumping cash into those ventures – rather, the federal government is handing out bazillions in grants to companies that STILL go out of business!

Is there anybody in this administration that knows how to run a balance sheet using black ink???

Short story that I want to share with everyone…

I was at the checkout at my neighborhood Walgreens…I know the kid pretty well who was working the checkout counter…The gal in the line ahead of me put her items on the counter and he rang up her bill…she said to him that she is in there a lot and sees him there a lot as well…His reply to her was that he has to work a lot of hours because everything cost so much…he then went on to say that he felt that as far as he was concerned, the government should provide free food, water and housing to people…I looked at him and laughed and said…sounds like “socialism” to me…and you know what he said?…”I don’t care what they call it, it’s just the right thing for the government to do for us.”…I‘ve gotten to know this kid pretty well and he’s a really nice kid…he‘s in college and I’d guess that he’s a good student…he’s also a hard worker…For some reason, it was like a light bulb went off in my head for the first time…I never had to come up with the kind of money “just to survive” that these kids are having to come up with…Never would I have believed that a lousy loaf of bread would cost $4.00…then there’s the rent costs and fuel costs, and insurance costs…on and on and on…I wouldn’t trade places with this generation for anything…It is a crime what Washington DC has stolen from our youth! Worse yet is what WE have ALLOWED them to do!!!!!! I can’t imagine how different my life might have been had I had to just try to “survive” much less “get ahead” in the world we have passed on to them…“The American Dream” must sound like a REAL JOKE to them! We‘ve got to get this country back on track and we’ve got to get it done soon or there’s not going to be any way to get it back at all!

      AzDebi,
Something occurred to me toady whilst thinking about the events in Egypt,….. ‘we’ [the world in general] have been ‘lucky’ that things have not [yet] gotten out of hand there… Their military has behaved rather well, given all of the commotion and what not,…. and it occurred to me that this may well be thanks to the US MILITARY…. [huh?]

YES, b/c they have been training most o f the Egyptian mil. officers FOR DECADES….. I just hope and pray that that same military, OUR MILITARY, will CHOOSE to side with…. WE THE PEOPLE, of these divided States of whatever we are about to become…

[in the mean time, I'm not takin' any chances,... I’m stocking up on ammo, lots and lots of ammo!]

      “Lead, the new gold!”

“Gold,…….. plated guns, the currency of the future!” roflmao!

“I know and have known for a long time that this is all inevitable…U R Right…I just wish (and pray a lot) that it wasn’t so!”

      Unfortunately, this was also all avoidable……… but is now truly UN-avoidable…… :-{

We are all breathing out CO2 right now. The Earth must have this gas to survive yet these clowns want to sequester it.

The good news is that whatever humans do to try to alter the climate will have no measurable effect whatsoever. The bad news? These idiots will send us all broke in the attempt.

Notice her smug, arrogant demeanor? Think back to the way Babs treated a decorated General. Rep. Shimkus should have asked Jackson where the comparative study that corrolated US CO2 emmisions compared to China, Russia and India were?

How dare you ask me these inane questions. I’m an elitist Obama appointee and that should be enough for you. Also, I have noticed all of your eating habits are not up to Michelles’ standards, but don’t worry, I can regulate this too. Who needs Congress?

Of course I didn‘t watch the O’reilly BO interview but see clips. I like the one BO said that he hasn’t raised taxes in two years.

I just hope the American people in this election does see the stuff he has been shoveling.

The EPA has been incredibly succesful in reducing smog, carcinogens in our water supply and other things that reduce the quality of life in our country and actually take lives. You don’t have to worry as much about your child getting cancer from the tap water in your house, for example. So it‘s understandable people don’t understand what the EPA does. But take a trip to China sometime and you’ll see what happens without an EPA like organization (which they now have). In a large part of the country, you rarely see the sun, mostly because of emmission from coal burning plants. Don’t drink water from the tap! Just living in industrialized areas has the same health effects of being a heavy smoker.

Here, I’ll save you the trip to China. Here are some nice photographs of a country with inadequate environmental controls. Before the EPA, this wasn’t much different than the US. But, yes, Chinese companies make save a lot of money by the lack of regulation! Nice idea to increase corporate profits, but we tried that already. That’s why we have an EPA.
